Excellent tool for spiritual growth
My mother-in-law recently asked me to order a set of these workbooks for a course she was teaching. I had a brief opportunity to learn a little bit about the original book by Elizabeth George and the Bible Study program that expands on each chapter. It is a very well-rounded program that is grounded in The Word and if each lesson is followed regularly it is a great opportunity for spiritual growth and a deepening walk with the Lord. Of course I am not a woman so I can't speak for how it relates to issues and struggles that an individual lady may face. I have been through enough Bible Study programs, however, to where I can tell if a program or tool is useful or not. This is a very good workbook. My mother-in-law also loves the series and has expressed to me all of the ladies in her class are growing from week to week.

The book is what I expected and the remarks were good a little more clear but havent come across any highlighting yet but I may missed and did find a little stain but totally a good and usuable book thanks

At first glance really loved the Bible study.However, was not aware a video was needed to get full benefit.Would be nice if could stand alone

Changing your Heart
If you really want to draw closer to the Lord and live for Him, this is the book to read.All the suggestions are based on scriptures and she provides examples. Highly recommended.

A Good Place to Start
Our group is doing this study without the video.It can be done, but the video may add a lot more to it. If you can't afford the video, I suggest supplimenting your study with her book by the same name.The book fills in the gaps.We also found that within one week she repeats herself in the questions.The question may be worded differently, but it is the same message.Perhaps repetition helps one to learn the lesson more.I highly recommend this study.It will bring you closer to God. ... Good book, but needs to be updated.
I agree with the last reviewer, it is a good book, I particularly enjoyed the way the author describe their wedding. The only problem that have with this book is that it needs to be updated, particularly since the Queen Mother died 50 years and four months after her husband; as well as three months after her youngest daughter's death.

King George VI and Queen Elizabeth
This is a good book, nothing new or exciting, nothing scandalous, no deep dark secrets, just the story of a couple who loved each other a great deal. I enjoy Elizabeth George's books - have not read this yet - but I have read several of her books & always very encouraging.

Our women's church book club decided to read one of Elizabeth George's books.We selectedA Woman's Walk with God.It was available as a single copy book or we could get 3 of her stories in one large collection. This book describes in more detail about the Fruit of the Spirit. Other than the fact that the book itself is quite thick and heavy, it has been an excellent bargain.

A Mom After God's Own Heart
I teach a Mom's Bible study and the moms and I love this book. As the word gets out about what we are doing the class keeps growing and growing. With the help of this book, we are learning that whether we are aware of not we are teaching our children with everything we do. If we want to raise children that love the Lord, we have to show our love for Him not just on Sunday but everyday. Great Book!
I own several of Elizabeth's books and i love this one because it focuses on how to make prayer work in a busy woman's life - because everyone woman is a busy woman!

A Woman's Call to Prayer
This book was suggested for a study group.Easy reading, it also gives a better understanding of praying.When we pray we can expect an answer from the Lord.It has taught me a better way to making decision.I would refer to book to other women study groups.

Great book on prayer
This book is excelent! If you are looking to improve your prayer life and make changes NOW about it, this is the book. Like most of Elizabeth's book, it's really practical so if you really want to, it will take you to make changes and improve your prayer life. Also, it will give a whole different perspective about the importance of prayer in a christian woman's life. You'll wonder how could you pray so little and still go on!! Also, she begins each chapter with a quote, they are all really good, motivational and most important, biblical.

You Only Need One
I own a bunch of Elizabeth George's books that are available here and on christian books, even 1 written by both Elizabeth and her husband Jim.

Sorry to say, but in my opinion, once you have one of her books, you have all of her books.

They all pretty much say the same thing, just re organized in each book.

So if this is your first Elizabeth George Book, great! I think you'll enjoy it. But if you are considering purchasing this book as a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc-I wouldn't because you've already got the book pretty much in your first E. George book. ... Read more

My only complaint with this book is the title.
I love the way Garrett writes, and have enjoyed all of his books that I have read, but this book doesn't seem to have much to do with the title.If you are looking for a clever insight into the minds of commoners,messengers, and Catholic Priests (among others) during Elizabeth's reign,then this is the book for you.
