Good Diagrams - various styles!!
A good learning tool.This book isn't fancy with pretty colored pictures or completed projects, but the diagrams are really good and easy to follow.The format is geared for teaching kids, so it's really good for a beginner like me : ) This is one of my better investments for pop up books so far. You can't beat the price and you'll learn a lot.

East to Make Pop-Ups is Great!
I was thrilled to find that the Joan Irvine book How to Make Pop-Ups was reprinted in Easy to Make Pop-Ups.As the enrichment teacher in our school district, I had given presentations to many groups on making pop-ups based on the clearly written and illustrated book.I had given the book as a gift to many young people.As a docent at a children's museum, I present mini courses on making pop-up cards and the adults present have always wanted to know where they could get the book I was using.Until now, I had to tell them that it was out of print.Thank you for again making it available.It is my all-time favorite!

How to Make Pop-Ups
This is such a practical and useful book for me.I like to make cards and have used so many of Joan's ideas and have received many compliments.

For any age (even if it is for kids)
This book makes pop ups easy even for the beginner.The illustrations are very clear as are the instructions.

Joan Irvine's Ideas
Joan Irvine's book, "How to make POP-UPS," has more than fifty ideas that will be helpful to beginning teachers. It is also helpful to anyone who enjoys working with crafts. This book is filled with all sorts of ideas that range from making a pop-up strip, to making a cage, to making your own trapeze book. Irvine commences the book by suggesting the materials(paper, scissors, string,rubber bands, buttons etc...) to be used. Then,Irvine informs the reader of the symbols and definitions to be utilized on each individual pop-up. Irvine also gives helpful suggestions for folding, cutting, and measuring. I suggest this book to anyone who enjoys making crafts.

Lots of Pop-Up Fun!
I purchased this book hoping to find out a few tricks beyond the simple "strip" style pop up.I was very pleasantly surprised to find instructions for turning circles, 3-D cages, and sliders, among others! Given the number of projects included in the book, I feel it's anexceptional value!Instructions and diagrams were clear and easy for me tofollow and I look forward to sharing some of these projects at my localelementary school, where I volunteer as art director for a 5/6th gradecombination class.Children will definitely enjoy creating these simple,but impressive ideas!

Great beginner book on Popups
Although written for children, the methods learned in this book can be carried over to any type of pop-up cards.Also shows you how to make a noise-maker card, a card with a slide and a card with a rubber band powered "car" on it.Lots of good ideas. ... Read more

Daughter Loves It!!!
My 10 year old daughter LOVES this book. She has made many sweet cards for her friends and sometimes I even get one ;0)

Great for middle school kids!
I am always look for ways to intergrate Art into my 7th Grade English classes.We have a unit of making non-fiction books. This is a GREAT way to boost kids' creativity as they look for ways to illustrate their books. The instructions are easy to follow and require almost no explaining by me.

Kid tested, kid approved!
I love Joan Irvine's books. I am an art teacher and I use it in my classroom from middle school on up! The kids like it and find the instructions easy to follow.
