Still doesn't do jusice to the man JRM was.
I am biased. Let me point that out from the start. I was a close friend of JRM.

This book contains a lot of information which was previously known about John. It also includes quite a few things that not even his friends knew.

Yes, it could be considered a 'death bed tall all' upon the Channel 7 Network here in Australia, and quite a few other political and public figures which conducted a 'witch hunt' in the 90's to convict him of disgusting crimes. I was with him when he finally celebrated his Supreme Court victory over Channel 7, and I was with him later when he was gravelly ill with cancer, which he finally succumbed to only recently.

Both as a Solicitor and as a layperson, he fought bravely and took no prisoners in has crusade for Human Rights reform. He took on the establishments on the issues of Gay Rights, Aboriginal Rights, Prisoner Rights, Crime and Punishment reform, and many other areas in a time when others were too frightened to do so.

You may not learn all there is to know about this man, however the book is a great start in knowing the man for who he was and not for who he was portrayed to be in the mass media of our country. ... Read more
