I'm With The Band- the psychic edition!
I have very mixed feelings about this book. I think that whether or not one believes that either Jim Morrison or Michael Hutchence are speaking through this woman, or whether or not one is even a fan of either of the aforementioned men, one could learn a lot from reading this book; it has a positive, inspiring message to those of us here on earth, if nothing else.

Now, although I do believe that we go on even after we leave the earth, the matter of Ms. Murray's authenticity is something I am very clouded on and have absolutely no way of knowing. I am not familiar enough with Michael Hutchence's life to know if this is the case with his volume of the book, but the section on Jim Morrison is something that pretty much anybody could construct themselves after extensive research on his life (with a little fanfiction on Murray's part regarding his "true eternal soul mate," conveniently somebody he never met on earth), and I especially stand by this statement now that I have read a review by somebody who actually knew Jim Morrison and has basically said the same thing.

I would like to believe that this is a work of nonfiction and that both men have found the peace and happiness they didn't find here and want to save the world from meeting their tragic fates (Michael Hutchence especially is portrayed in this book as a very warm individual that anybody would want to know), but in some cases, you've just got to think logically.

Another big red flag for me was what seemed like Murray's constant underlying need to glorify herself and her gift; she is almost as much the subject of the book as Jim and Michael are! Psychic pals of hers toot her horn loudly all throughout the book, Morrison and Hutchence both go on about how special she is and how everyone on the other side is just clamoring to be near her light force and how no other channel could ever suffice because she is part of their special soul group. Most unnervingly, Murray includes a "channeled" poem from Hutchence to her, saying something along the lines of "I have loved many women, I have a beautiful daughter, but you, my angel, are special to me like no other." ...Really? For her to insinuate that she is more special to him than his own child is just going too far, I think; that reads like teenage fanfiction, born of the author's own fantasies involving the subject (Murray does state in the book she was much more of an INXS fan than a Doors fan and, while I am unsure of her age, comes across as being in the right age group to have been an admirer of Hutchence at the height of his popularity).

I see now that she has written another book, with additional channelings from her old pals Morrison and Hutchence and it seems that Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain and Sid Vicious are now also in her dead rockstar little black book. As the title of my review states, it seems a bit too much as though she's trying to establish herself as a sort of psychic Pamela Des Barres to really take this seriously. Not to mention the fact that Murray claims that Morrison and Hutchence told her that the current pope would die at the end of 2008 and here we are in the middle of March 2010 and he is still alive.

I give it three stars for sheer entertainment value and for the valuable lessons one could learn by reading it, even if it's inaccurate and at times comes across a bit fanfiction-y, like the horribly overrated Twilight series except with dead rockstars duking it out for the attention of the oh-so-special psychic soul sister instead of vampires and werewolves duking it out for the attention of the oh-so-special Mary Sue self-inserted by the author for her own wish fulfillment purposes.

Read if you want to, enjoy it, learn from it, hell, even believe it if you want to, but take it with a grain of salt.

Light and Love
Some people will not buy into this book.It doesn't matter.It doesn't matter if you believe the guys are actually speaking through this lady or not.It doesn't matter how Jim Morrison died or if that is realy his ghost we see in that famed picture (I've always believed it was a demon spirit - why in the world would he want to hang around a cemetary).What matters... the lessons learned.The lessons Jim and Michael tell of and the peek into the spirit world they give.Another thing: I've never heard of an evil thing suggesting a relatinship with God; saying that they know Jesus.Evil things do not speak of light, love, and searching for the truth - I do know that.

I TOO HEAR THEM BUT NOT ALL THE TIME. I AM GLAD THAT YOU WROTE THIS BECAUSE I AM STILL SO NEW TO MY GIFT AND YOU PUT IT THERE FOR ME TO UNDERSTAND WHAT HE WAS SAYING. I TOTALLY THANK YOU.

Don't waist your time!
The worst book I have ever read about Morrison! Same old stories, only this time told through a psychic.Don't waist your money.

THIS IS REAL...I AM PART OF IT
I am submitting this review of Ms. Jacquie Murray's work to testify to her authenticity.She contacted me in August, 2007 for a channeling session with Michael.I had no idea who she was at the time of our session. As a professional psychic and medium in private practice and on radio for 15 years, upon completion of the session, Jacquie said I was the most accurate out of 80 psychics.I did not know whether to believe her or not.
She explained her connection to Jim Morrison, the book, the others she had spoken to, etc.She asked if I would allow Jim and Michael to come through me in another session. I was skeptical of her until I tested her about someone I know on the other side.She revealed information only a true medium would know.We set the channeling session a few weeks later. Ms. Murray was in awe of her own work and questioned herself thus reaching out to others for validation.This book is real because when I channeled and questioned some of the statements, Jacquie would assure me and say, "yes, I know that, they already told me".All I did was confirm what she knew but I had no idea.As a professional in metaphysics, I was skeptical until I personally experienced Jim Morrison and Michael Hutchence.
