Oltre all' Aida , opera d'apertura, erano in cartellone Ernani I quattro rusteghi di Ermanno Wolf Ferrari e "un'altra da destinarsi". La Gazzetta del 3 marzo riportava il lungo elenco degli artisti che erano stati scritturati; l'orchestra e il coro, quelli della Sezione di Parma delle Corporazioni Nazionali del Teatro, ed erano indicati altresì dodici ballerine, dodici ragazzi e ben ottanta comparse. La presentazione di un tale programma aveva incuriosito e, benché tutti fossero concordi che l' Aida non fosse opera per le strutture del Reinach, alla prima il teatro era rigurgitante di gente, curiosa ma anche prevenuta. Fu subito colto, oltre alle prime inesattezze vocali, quanto più facilmente si esponeva alla critica: la mancanza di pompa, di fasto, di grandiosità nella scena del trionfo. "Forse se il pubblico, che jeri sera si sentiva insolitamente battagliero e vivace quasi per riacquistata libertà, avesse usato questo diverso criterio di giudizio, forse, sarebbe stato meno feroce. In un'atmosfera di battaglia tanto turbata, il valore di alcuni artisti è riuscito, tuttavia, ad aver ragione dell'umor nero del pubblico": il soprano, il basso, e il direttore d'orchestra riscossero l'applauso; l'orchestra, malgrado due sole prove, se la cavò bene, come pure "il piccolo coro" ebbe il riconoscimento. Male il tenore e il mezzosoprano. Quello che stupisce è l'esito che ebbe questo fiasco: la

Extractions: Marcel Baars werd geboren in Limmen 4 Augustus 1956 als 5e in een groot gezin waar veel aan muziek werd gedaan. Zijn vader was een van de steunpilaren van de plaatselijke Harmonie. Rond 1970 volgen de eerste Hobo lessen bij een amateur uit de beurt, spoedig daarna gevolgd door de eerste compositie pogingen, vanaf 1976 neemt hij Hobo les tijdens militaire dienst bij de eerste hoboïst van de Johan Willem Friso Kapel de Hr. Scherrenborg. Na terug-keer in de burger maatschappij volgen lessen bij Bert Steinman hoboïst van het Noord Hollands Philharmonisch Orkest in Haarlem. In 1981 begint hij de vakstudie bij Hen v.d. Grinten aan de Muziek Pedagogische Akademie later Conservatorium van Alkmaar. In 1984 wint hij zijn eerste compositie prijs bij het Groningen Manifest met een compositie voor Harmonie orkest "Regelmaat is ook niet alles" In 1987 sluit hij zijn studie aan het conservatorium af met het behalenvan de akte DM Hobo. In 1987 wint hij de eerste prijs in België met een compositie voor Fanfare orkest "Karel Verbruggen Fantasie" In 1988 wint hij prijzen tijdens een wedstrijd van het Kempisch Jeugd Fanfare orkest met zijn compositie "Eerste modale Suite" en "Sinfonietta" In 1988 wint hij de eerste prijs bij een wedstrijd van de Koninklijke Nederlandse Toonkunstenaars Vereniging met "Drie Octo Stukjes" voor Fluit, Viool, Cello en Piano
