Product Description
THE VAMPIRE WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO
A Novella by J.R. Rain

Three years ago, high school student Veronica Fortune witnessed the brutal murder of her parents. Now armed and dangerous, she sets out to hunt down the very thing that destroyed her life.

That is, until she disappears.

Spinoza is a private investigator who specializes in finding the missing. He's good at what he does. Damn good. But he's also a recovering alcoholic and a royal mess. Hired to find Veronica, Spinoza won't let his personal demons — or demons of any kind — get in the way of finding the truth about the missing girl.

Now following a bizarre set of clues that leads him into stranger and stranger territory, Spinoza is about to come face-to-face with something legendary...and something hungry for blood.

(Please Note: The Vampire With the Dragon Tattoo is approximately 90 manuscript pages, or 22,000 words.)

**Acclaim for the Novels of J.R. RAIN**

"I enjoyed this immensely. The protagonist, Samantha Moon, is a female vampire with a husband and children. Those predate her condition; six years ago she was attacked by a vampire and rendered into one. Now she's trying to carry on with family and private eye business, and she's a feisty, skilled person, so is doing mostly okay. It is not a horror story; she buys animal blood to eat and doesn't generally prey on humans. But her husband has an increasing problem with her coldness — not of spirit, but of body. 'You sicken me and scare the hell out of me,' he tells her. 'And when I touch you it's all I can do to not gag.' She replies, 'Words every wife wants to hear.' I love this! She really doesn't deserve to be frozen out of her marriage, yet his attitude is understandable. In the course of the novel she solves the mystery she is tackling for a client, and finds a new romantic interest. What makes it special are her character and nature. I sure wouldn't have kicked her out of bed. I recommend it as light reading, odd as that may sound." —Piers Anthony, New York Times bestselling author of A SPELL FOR CHAMELEON and ON A PALE HORSE

"MOON DANCE is absolutely brilliant!" —Lisa Tenzin-Dolma, author of UNDERSTANDING THE PLANETARY MYTHS

"MOON DANCE is a must read. If you like Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum, bounty hunter, be prepared to love J. R. Rain's Samantha Moon, vampire private investigator." —Eve Paludan, author of LETTERS FROM DAVID

"Impossible to put down. J.R. Rain's MOON DANCE is a fabulous urban fantasy." —April Vine, author of THE MIDNIGHT ROSE

"Gripping, adventurous, and romantic — J.R. Rain's THE LOST ARK is a breakneck thriller that traces the thread of history from Biblical stories to current-day headlines. Be prepared to lose sleep!" —James Rollins, international bestselling author of ALTAR OF EDEN and THE DOOMSDAY KEY

"DARK HORSE is one of the best books I've read in a long time! A great classic detective story with a modern twist. Unique and interesting characters (I think I'm half in love with Jim Knighthorse now!), a great plot that kept me guessing until the end, and some of the funniest lines I've read anywhere. Rain does an amazing job of blending suspense, mystery and humor in this fantastic debut novel destined for the keeper shelf." —Gemma Halliday, Rita and Golden Spur award-winning author of MAYHEM IN HIGH HEELS and SCANDAL SHEET

"I totally loved THE BODY DEPARTED. My favorite scene is the one of Jesus stepping down from the cross and then the passionate and compassionate way it was treated as he went back to the cross. I will relive that for a long time to come. Thank you for your talet." —Julie Belmont, author of THE PATH TO PERSONAL SUCCESS AND FREEDOM ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Give us more, Mr. Rain!!!
Wow!!From the title, I kind of expected a `tongue in cheek' comedy. However, "The Vampire with the Dragon Tattoo" is an excellent detective story about a missing teenage girl who just happens to hunt vampires.Hunting vampires and then disappears, I should say, leaving the tale of what has become of her to the talents of skeptical P.I., Mr. Spinoza. J.R. Rain's reputation as a master detective story teller is further enhanced by this forage into the supernatural. My only complaint is the narrative is a short one. What I wouldn't pay to see this delightful short story fleshed out into a full blown novel!

5-0 out of 5 stars Vampire with the Dragon Tattoo is a 5-star page-turner!
Move over "Buffy"! You're so yesterday...

J.R. Rain does it again in a league of his own as he delivers a fast-paced novella starring a brand-new private detective who specializes in finding missing children. A distraught "grandma" wants Spinoza to find her missing granddaughter, Veronica, who just happens to be a vampire slayer. This time, J.R. Rain's private eye goes north to San Francisco and the setting is perfect for this engaging tale. From a goth bar decorated with coffins to the streets of San Francisco, it's a race against time as Spinoza must stop Veronica before she slays someone innocent. Because there are no such things as vampires, right? Riiiight.... Spinoza needs to separate fact from fiction and figuring out her target is the key to locating her before it's too late. The clock is ticking, Veronica's armed, she's dangerous, and she's done this before. This novella is a must-read for fans of vampire fiction and P.I. mysteries. I'm bitten and smitten! More please, Mr. Rain?

4-0 out of 5 stars a good read reasonable priced
I stumbled onto J.R. Rain by accident thanks to the Kindle and have read a lot of his work. He is getting better as a writer. I can see him becoming a best selling author shortly. This book introduced interesting characters that you want to get to know. I hope he writes more along this line.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Fun Vampire Tale
Another fun story by J.R. Rain. A down-and-out private eye with some serious issues of his own is hired to find a missing vampire hunter. A wild story (in fact, it's a short book), but I liked it. Makes me wonder if we have the beginnings of another series?

5-0 out of 5 stars J.R *Reigns Again!
A quick, fun read! I thoroughly enjoyed this little novella from one of my favorite authors. A great way to spend a few hours of the afternoon. I propose a series: would love to know what happens next with these two quirky characters! Two thumbs up! ... Read more
