Great Resource For Timely Tips
This book is a well illustrated distillation of the large volume of books on leadership, management, coaching, project planning, strategy, budget and accounting, sales, marketing...whew!

It does cover a lot of important issues in a very concise manner, without compromising on the essence. For those who want to go beyond the quick reminders and tips offered in this book...at least, they will have an idea of what they need to look for among the countless books about management.

PICTURES GALORE !!!
The most pictures I've seen from the Titanic and the events surrounding its demise. If you aren't into reading detailed accounts and love pictures then this book is perfect for you. Each page is filled with numerous pictures and a brief description of the people and events involved and how it plays into the whole story. Two thumbs way up. One of my favorites.

Very rare thatauthors can keep a story fresh. But somehow Charles Haas and Jack Eaton manage to turn up new exciting finds in the story of the Titanic. Buy this book!

Recycled, sloppy, but has some value.
I was looking forward to this book since I enjoyed Triumph and Tragedy and because the title and the advance write-up emphasized a Titanic timeline of events. But I was surprised by what some of the timeline contained. Forinstance, it has the first smokestack falling over at 2:05, followed byLightoller carefully lowering collapsible D from the boat deck. How canthis be when everyone knows Lightoller's testimony and his later memoirsmention that he had been in the water for a while when the smokestack fellover and just missed striking him? This seems sloppy, especially since theemphasis of this book is the timeline itself.In another case, the exactsame Bruce Ismay photograph was used on page 64 and 116. And a lot of thephotographs seem to be repeats of Triumph and Tragedy.

On a positivenote, I enjoyed the 8 color pages insert in the middle of the book (thebalance is black and white), and thought the events following the disasterthrough today made for fresh reading (although simple exhibits of Titanicartifacts are repeatedly listed in the timeline as if they are signficant"events.")

This book has been listed on the Amazon page forfour months now as a 625 page book when in fact, it is a 248 page book!

Charles Haas and Jack Eaton are very capable maritime writers. But what they have given us is arehash of their book, " Triumph and Tragedy ". There are some wonderful new pictures in this book, but theirchronology is a bit off. In the times where new info is being sought, thisbook falls short of that.
