Excellent price for so much fine music.
If this book had only existed when I was a music performance major, it would have made my life complete.

The music is printed in an easy to read format, not harsh or glaring on the eyes, and features some of Robert Schumann's most treasured, ingenious works."Carnaval," "Davidsbundler," and more...those two alone are worth the price paid for the entire volume.

I highly recommend classical pianists of all ages and abilities to purchase this and get to know Schumann's music.

Thilo Reinhard's 'The Singer's Schumann' is a well written, well laid-out book about Schumann's songs. There is a guide to pronunciation of the lyrics which will be invaluable to those with little or no knowledge ofGerman, or to those with some knowledge but who are not quite sure of oneor two issues.Of interest to everyone, though, will be the extensive andscholarly background to the songs and, especially, to the poets who wrotetheir texts. As Reinhard points out, Schumann was a highly literarycultivated person. Understanding of his world and of the world of the poetshe set to music is essential to a good interpretation of the songs.
