Complete Rip-off!It's just Wikipedia printed on paper.
From what I've seen on amazon, these editors seem to specialize in just printing out Wikipedia sections and charging high prices for them, while concealing the fact that the "book" is just Wikipedia articles.Click on any of the "editors" names to search for all the "books" they've edited that are available here, and you'll see what I mean.

Warning
Alphascript Publishing has a big published about 40 000 "books" that are nothing more than a collection of Wikipedia articles. The books retail for between $40 and $100. This is a big price for something that is available for free. Shame on Amazon for stocking them. Often the cover picture does not even match the subject.

Good read for Web 2.0 solutions
This book is good read to ensure quality Web 2.0 AJAX solutions. This book provides in depth coverage of browser components, threading, garbage collection, memory model etc. And thus facilitates the process of replacing legacy presentation-tier on server with client-tier(JavaScript) in browser. This boook covers css parsing, html parsing, rendering, layout, javascript interaction etc.

This book can be used while creating Rich Internet Applications which pull coarse grained data with services in cloud[-computing]. Although, there are various sections with low level details which I skipped and may be good read for somebody trying to embed/develop browsers.

This book has concise and crisp coverage of inner workings of Firefox components of gecko, spidermonkey, tracemonkey etc. For example how DOM Objects as scriptable XPCOM objects interacts with Javascript using XPConnect. This book details Chrome and Safari's Webkit components of WebCore, JavaScriptCore, V8. This book provides insight into how IE 9 Javascript compiler (Chakra) compiles JavaScript source code into high-quality native machine code etc.

Will appeal to many a young reader
Just because you can make a giant of a friend, doesn't mean you'll have it easy. "The Adventures of Browser & Sequoia" tells the story of a mammoth and his human companion who can talk to him. Through their partnership in these prehistoric times, they find themselves raging against rival clans, hungry sabretooths, and people who are just plain mean. Death Was Never So Interesting
Charles Panati has always been a fascinating author. His books are typically dedicated to information, mostly about the origin of things. There's his Browser's Book of Beginnings and his Sexy Origins of Intimate Things. But I use this book the most by far when it comes to information I need to know, along with his Sacred Origins of Profound Things. Where as most of his books deal with beginnings, this book deals with endings. There of course origins of instruments of death such as the electric chair and the guillotine, but the whole is concerned with death and the ways it happens. Great for reference and great for just reading. Though at first it is a grim subject, Panati deals with it in such a way, that you could almost read it as humorous yet respectful. Points of interest include last wills and testaments of past presidents and the last words along with cause and description of death with famous figures in history such as Buddha, Joan of Arc, Edgar Allan Poe, and Ludwig van Beethoven. And in reflecting how these monumental people died, we also reflect on how they lived and realize that no one is exempt from death, and that we need to make the most of it, and laugh about it in the end.

Bubblegum For The Brain
All of Panati's books are a good read, just the kind of book you need if you've got a curious mind.

For a rainy day read, or a break from more 'serious' reading, Panati is the choice.Hey, it beats watching television!
