1898, Collingwood,Stuart, Dodgson The Life and Letters of lewis carroll. Unwin, Londres.
http://www.expreso.co.cr/alicia/carroll.htm

Lewis Carroll became interested in photography in the infancy of this scientific art form. He was a man of infinite patience and one who paid attention to the smallest detail. These qualities were mandatory to be a photographer in the 1850's. The wet collodion process was demanding indeed. It is thought that he gave up photography when the dry developing process came to the fore, because it made photography too easy. Anybody could do that. Where was the challenge? At any rate he is considered one of the best amateur photographers of his time. I think he was a bit of a photography snob. Carroll certainly would chose UNIX over Windows (who wouldn't?).

ALICES’ SHOP
Lewis Carrolls Old Sheep Shop
This 15th century Oxford building is situated in the city’s St Aldates Street opposite Christ Church Meadow, part of the famous Christ Church College. It is here it received its links with Lewis Carroll. Lewis Carroll was a mathematical don at the college and was friendly with the Dean, Rev'd Henry George Liddell, and his family. The Dean had three daughters, Lorina, Alice and Edith. Lewis Carroll took the family on numerous picnics along the picturesque banks of the river Thames. While her sisters played games or read books on these outings Alice would become bored and so Lewis Carroll would tell her fantastic stories all about the adventures of a little girl called Alice. Lewis would include people who featured in Alices’ everyday life, like her strict governess who became the queen of hearts in "Alice in Wonderland", the mad hatter was based on a hatter who lived in the High Street and was very eccentric because of the mercury he worked with . Also included was himself as a dodo (his real name was Charles Dodgson but Alice had trouble with this and affectionatly named him dodo). Sometime later the family persuaded Lewis to write down and publish these amazing adventures, they came in the form of two books "Alice in wonderland" and "Through the looking glass".

by William. S. Gilbert The Aeneid
by Virgil This classic epic poem, translated from Latin, written around 29-19BC, contains twelve books exploring the legends surrounding Aeneas and the founding of Rome. The first six books follow Aeneas' journeys and are modeled after Homer's "Odysessy." The last six patterned after the "Iliad" deal with the Trojan war where Aeneas is told, as he leaves the burning ruins, that he will found a glorious city of destiny in the West. Amours de Voyage

by Oscar Wilde This long ballad poem published in 1898 was Wilde's last artistic effort. The poem is a social commentary against the deplorable and inhuman conditions existing in Reading jail. Illustration by Sir John Tenniel in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland that inspirated the Mad Hatter Day Lewis Carroll is the pseudonym of the English writer and mathematician Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, b. Jan. 27, 1832, d. Jan. 14, 1898, known especially for ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND (1865) and THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS (1872), children's books that are also distinguished as satire and as examples of verbal wit. Carroll invented his pen name by translating his first two names into the Latin "Carolus Lodovicus" and then anglicizing it into "Lewis Carroll." The son of a clergyman and the firstborn of 11 children, Carroll began at an early age to entertain himself and his family with magic tricks, marionette shows, and poems written for homemade newspapers. From 1846 to 1850 he attended Rugby School; he graduated from Christ Church College, Oxford, in 1854. Carroll remained there, lecturing on mathematics and writing treatises and guides for students. Although he took deacon's orders in 1861, Carroll was never ordained a priest, partly because he was afflicted with a stammer that made preaching difficult and partly, perhaps, because he had discovered other interests. Among Carroll's avocations was photography, at which he became proficient. He excelled especially at

THE INFORMATION HIGHWAY TO HELL Nice to see you out on the Information Highway to Hell! As the Internet took off, many hoped for a new Renaissance to blossom on-line. It didn't. Instead, we got porn, spam, and popup advertising . Referring to the Internet as the 'Highway to Hell' is my smug way of noting the barren, under-utilized nature of Cyberspace.
