... Week 4 Week Three- JUNE 26- JULY 2 Stepping Out: Translating, Editing, Publishing
Experimental writers rarely stay isolated in the production of their own work. Experimentation is also communal and multi-dimensional. So writers engage with one another through translation, editing and publishing. This is hard, precise work - working another language into fresh writing while remaining "true" to its spirit. There is also care in gathering the texts of others, sharing the process toward publication. And now, happily, here is a wealth of publications both on and off line that's never been witnessed before in the annals of avant-garde literature. We will explore some of these paths and options for the writers willing to go beyond their own selves. Workshops Offered Week Three Assembling/Dissembling Techniques- Anselm Berrigan back to top Editing The Cybercorpse- Andrei Codrescu Cyber publishing is radically different from print publishing. We will explore the new publishing medium and identify and enjoy its surprises. The model, which students must study before registering is the cyberspace of www.corpse.org.
