The Tomb of Ramesses IX, Valley of the Kings, Egypt
by Mark Andrews
The tomb of Ramesses IX (KV 6) is the first tomb one encounters within the modern entrance to the Valley of the Kings . It is a rather simplistic tomb in most respects, though the art work is interesting. John Gardner Wilkinson said of the artwork: "The features of the king are peculiar, and from the form of the nose, so very unlike that of the usual Egyptian face, it becomes very probable that their sculptures actually offer portraits..." The tomb has stood open since antiquity, and was visited by many ancient tourists, including 46 who left inscriptions within the tomb. This tomb was apparently explored by Henry Salt, who collected some of the funerary equipment which is now in his collection at the British Museum. In 1888, the sepulchre was cleared by George Daressy. Entrance is made to the tomb down a corridor with steps on either side, which then connects to the first true corridor with two annexes on either side. However, one of the annexes was never completed. This is followed by a second and third corridor, prior to reaching a vestibule. Note the absence of a ritual shaft. The vestibule opens into a four pillared hall, and then a very short corridor which leads to the burial chamber with no annexes. It is possible that the burial chamber was originally meant to be another corridor, as it is very small, but was converted because of the kings death. An unusual feature of the burial chamber is a two tiered pit in the floor. No sarcophagus has ever been found.

    A Profile of the School
Henry J. Winters School is one of 10 elementary schools in the city of Pawtucket under the governance of the Pawtucket School District and a seven member elected school committee. The main building was built in 1961 and the 636 students are currently served in three different buildings. The main building serves students in grades K-4; an inclusion third grade is located across the street in a church basement. Students in two fourth grade classes as well as all students in grades 5-6 are located in an annex which is 3 blocks from the main building. A principal, new to the school and state, leads a staff of 84 personnel with the aid of an assistant principal. Seventy-three percent of the students are eligible for free or reduced lunch. Forty-three percent of the students are White, 41% are Hispanic, 11% are Black, 1% are Asian/Pacific Islander, and 1% are Native American. Twenty-three percent of the students receive special education services in a self-contained or resource setting and 9% are ESL. A kindergarten classroom in the main building and a grade 3 classroom across the street are two inclusion classrooms at the Henry Winters Elementary School.

    Flagler
Henry Morrison Flagler was born on January 2, 1830 in Hopewell, New York to Reverend Isaac and Elizabeth Caldwell Harkness Flagler. At the age of 14, after completing the eighth grade in 1844, Flagler decided to move to Bellevue, Ohio where he found work in the grain store of L.G. Harkness and Company at a salary of $5 per month plus room and board. By 1849, Flagler was promoted to sales staff of the company at a salary of $400 per month. Flagler became a partner in the newly organized D. M. Harkness and Company with his half-brother, Dan Harkness in 1852. The following year, on November 9, he married Mary Harkness. On March 18, 1855, their first child, Jennie Louise, was born. Jennie Louise lived until 1889, when at the age of 34, she died following complications from child birth. A second child, Carrie, was born on June 18, 1858. She died three years later. On December 2, 1870, the Flaglers' only son, Harry Harkness Flagler, was born. Flagler founded the Flagler and York Salt Company, a salt mining and production business in Saginaw, Michigan in 1862 with his brother-in-law Barney York. By 1865, the end of the Civil War caused a drop in the demand for salt and the Flagler and York Salt Company collapsed. Heavily in debt, Flagler returned to Bellevue, Ohio. He had lost his initial $50,000 investment and an additional $50,000 he had borrowed from his father-in-law and Dan Harkness. The next year Flagler reentered the grain business as a commission merchant. Flagler had become acquainted with

    Experiments on Air
Philosophical Transactions In a paper, printed in the last volume of the Philosophical Transactions, in which I gave my reasons for thinking that the diminution produced in atmospheric air by phlogistication, is not owing to the generation of fixed air , I said it seemed most likely, that the phlogistication of air by the electric spark was owing to the burning of some inflammable matter in the apparatus; and that the fixed air, supposed to be produced in that process, was only separated from that inflammable matter by the burning. At that time, having made no experiments on the subject myself, I was obliged to form my opinion from those already published; but I now find, that though I was right in supposing the phlogistication of the air does not proceed from phlogiston communicated to it by the electric spark, and that no part of the air is converted into fixed air; yet that the real cause of the diminution is very different from what I suspected, and depends on the conversion of phlogisticated air into nitrous acid The apparatus used in making the experiments was as follows: The air through which the spark was intended to be passed, was confined in a glass tube M, bent to an angle, as in fig. 4, pl. 1, which, after being filled with

    by Gaston Burridge
This article was in Fate Magazine, in September of 1956. It is just one of the stories that was dug up from the Vangard Sciences archives. It entails some of the work that Mr. Thomas Henry Moray was doing in attempting to tap into cosmic energy. Mr. Moray was developing an electric motor which would be able to run off this cosmic energy. Some of the devices he developed apparently worked, using silver and copper bars. This is very similar to some of the work John Keely had done with his Compound Disintegrator. This electromagnetic zero-point energy is also known as the Casimir effect, named after researcher Milonni. The Casimir effect refers to an attractive quantum force between closely-spaced metal plates. For further information on Mr. T. Henry Moray you can read the following books : The Sea of Energy in which the Earth Floats by T. Henry Moray Radiant Energy by T. Henry Moray The Complex Secret of Dr. T. AIR MAIL PIONEER HENRY G. BOONSTRA FOUND ALIVE
From Salt Lake City newspaper courtesy American Heritage Center, University of Wyoming
The spectacular and anxious search for Pilot Henry G, Boonstra, lost since Friday morning when he left Salt Lake with the air mall for Rock Springs, WY, ended this morning when a telephone message from Boonstra himself from Dennlng ranch, announced that he was safe and well. He left his plane after a forced landing on Porcupine ridge, 20 miles east of Coalville, Friday morning and in a blinding snow storm ,wandered until late Saturday night when he saw a light and stumbled into an isolated cabin which is owned and occupied by a rancher named Freedom Rigby. After repeated attempts the pilot and Rigby arrived at Dennlng's ranch at 9 o'clock this morning and telephoned to Coalville and then to Salt Lake. Lost in Snow Storm The pilot explained that he became lost in the mountains at the head of the Weber watershed in a snow storm that prevented any view of the ground. After keeping the motor running until his gas was about gone, he came down low, hoping to see some familiar object only to find himself in Chalk Creek Canyon below the summits of either side and in a fork with no outlet that he could see. There was no room to gain altitude to go over the summit so he was forced to land on the ridge now covered with from 15 to 20 feet of snow.
