And the pronounces youthful character of the work id based principally on themetic song-like elements whose lively pulse-beat and spontaneously imaginative counterpoint have an exceptional attraction for listeners. The first performance of the Piano Quintet, played by professors of the Music School with the composer at the piano, did not make much of an impression on the audience. Later, however, the work did receive the wide acceptance to which it was entitled. | |
