45. Other Uses
have analysed the findings of 215 trials of antiplatelet agents, including aspirin,in over 100,000 patients with various circulation disorders, worldwide.
http://www.aspirin-foundation.com/story3.htm
Helping the heart I t is now recommended that aspirin in smaller doses than those used for pain relief is given to people with angina pectoris, people in the acute stages of myocardial infarction ("heart attack"), and people who have had coronary artery surgery, whether of the bypass, balloon or stent type. C ommon to all these people is the need to prevent blood clotting in the coronary arteries, the arteries feeding blood and therefore oxygen, to the heart muscle. The initial stage of blood clots in small arteries such as the coronaries is the aggregation ("clumping together") of platelets, the smallest solid elements - they are sub-cellular particles - in the circulation. A small dose of aspirin - the dose used is usually 75mg - 150mg per day, or less than half of a standard aspirin tablet - is enough to prevent platelet aggregation. This is of crucial benefit to people with narrowed coronary arteries, or in the throes of a heart attack, or whose first need is to keep open coronary arteries that have just undergone surgery or dilation by balloon or stent. I n particular, timing of treatment of heart attacks is vital to survival. One third of all heart attacks cause death within two hours of the first symptom - yet many sufferers do not reach hospital within four hours. What is needed is an effective treatment on the spot that needs the minimum technical expertise and carries the minimum risk. Aspirin answers that specification perfectly, and has been proved to save many lives in trials involving thousands of people.

Other studies for healthy volunteers investigate the effects of environmental conditions. For instance, studies may investigate the effects of exercise, vitamins, or diet on the human body. Anesthesiology Anesthesia involves the loss of sensation or consciousness produced by giving certain agents, such as during surgery. Studies in this area include management of chronic pain, spinal anesthesia, and other types of anesthesia. Cardiology/Vascular Diseases Diseases having to do with the structure and function of the heart and blood vessels. Studies in these areas include heart failure, chest pain and heart attack, high cholesterol, blood clots, circulation disorders, and medical conditions. Dentistry/Maxillofacial Surgery Fields regarding the teeth, jaw, tongue, face and its structures. Studies in these areas include: acute and chronic dental pain, oral cavity cancer, tooth decay, oral facial pain, and salivary gland dysfunction. Dermatology/Plastic Surgery Skin disorders; the reconstruction or replacement of deformed, damaged, or lost parts of the body; and cossmetic surgery. Problems with Your Feet Can Signal
Other Health Conditions
By Michael K. Murphy, D.O.
Board Certified Family Physician
Without a second thought, your feet take you wherever you want to go, leading you from point A to point B. With each step taken, you quickly learn that if you take good care of your feet, they take care of you. When you have the ability to walk around, especially comfortably and pain-free, taking a stroll and the condition of your feet are usually not an issue. However, the older you get, the greater the chances of developing foot problems. You may not know this, but your feet are the mirror of your general health. For this reason, it is extremely important to check them for any changes as they can signal health problems such as diabetes, circulatory diseases and arthritis. Diabetes is not just a disease affecting your sugar metabolism. It also affects your circulation. This condition causes the smaller vessels in the body to thicken. Because some of these vessels supply nerve endings, the areas of the body with the affected nerves become insensitive to pain and temperature. Since the foot has very small vessels, people should not ignore loss of sensation in their feet.

The General Surgery Section focuses on complex general surgery problems, surgery of the endocrine glands, and cancer treatment, with a special emphasis on breast cancer. Special expertise has been developed in the benign and malignant disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, hepatobiliary system, and pancreas. Several specific clinical protocols have been developed in collaboration with other departments to address pancreatic, gastric, and colorectal cancer; bile duct reconstruction; and inflammatory bowel disease. The study and surgical treatment of thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal disorders, as well as tumors of the endocrine pancreas, are also performed in this service. Endocrinologists work with surgeons to study and treat morbid obesity and all endocrine gland abnormalities.

Reflexology Reflexology uses compression techniques on the feet to stimulate every organ and gland in the body.
    Reflexology Will:
    • Normalize Body Function Reduce Stress Increase Circulation Improve Elimination Unblock Congestion
Reflexology works on the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous
systems to heighten the immune system, therefore allowing the body
to heal itself. Imagine stepping on a tack. Your whole body reacts because of something perceived by the foot. Reflexology, with a full range of pressure sensors, utilizes the same body system of fight or flight to relax the body. There are many conditions that may be helped by a Reflexology Session. A partial list of them are:
    • Fatigue Constipation/Hemorrhoids Hypoglycemia/Diabetes Digestion/Colitis Menstrual Disorders Menopause

    54. Dizziness & Motion Sickness
What Medical Diseases Cause Dizziness? 1. circulation disorders ofblood circulation are among the most common causes of dizziness.
    http://hope4hearing.org/dizziness.htm
What Is Dizziness? Some people describe a balance problem by saying they feel dizzy, lightheaded, unsteady or giddy. This feeling of imbalance or dysequilibrium, without a sensation of turning or spinning, is sometimes due to an inner ear problem.
    What Is Vertigo?
A few people describe their balance problem by using the word vertigo, which comes from the Latin verb "to turn." They often say that they or their surroundings are turning or spinning. Vertigo is frequently due to an inner ear problem.
What Is Motion Sickness and Sea Sickness?
Some people experience nausea and even vomiting when riding in an airplane, automobile, or amusement park ride, and this is called motion sickness. Many people experience motion sickness when riding on a boat or ship, and this is called sea sickness even though it is the same disorder. Motion sickness or sea sickness is usually just a minor annoyance and does not signify any serious medical illness, but some travelers are incapacitated by it, and a few even suffer symptoms for a few days after the trip.
    The Anatomy of Balance
Dizziness, vertigo and motion sickness all relate to the sense of balance and equilibrium. Researchers in space and aeronautical medicine call this sense spatial orientation, because it tells the brain where the body is "in space": what direction it is pointing, what direction it is moving, and if it is turning or standing still. Your sense of balance is maintained by a complex interaction of the following parts of the nervous system:

The Prevention of Stroke, Heart Attack and Circulation disorders including varicose veins
These disorders are generally the result of improper nutrition. However the tendency is for the problem to be genetically inherited, sometimes occurring quite young. Every person has different nutritional requirements but all heart and circulation disorders indicate a lack of quite specific bodily needs. It is quite logical to track the causation of most heart disorders, angina, varicose veins etc., from the build up of bad cholesterol in the cardio-vascular system and/or hardening of the arteries. So this is where we start. Making the walls of the arteries stronger, more healthy and more flexible, whilst at the same time converting cholesterol from bad to good. We advise to try and avoid all animal fats including dairy, all processed foods, anything with hydrogenated vegetable oil in, avoid caffeine. Use only olive oil for cooking. e-mail (This is very, very important) as it could affect the combination. Mark envelope Cardio. You must expect to be on this course for a minimum of 90 days. These nutrients are in daily, though often inadequate, use in every human body and the recommended intakes are geared for adults. If you have very bad cholesterol ring QNT and an extra nutrient will be added.
