Benign prostatic hyperplasia also known as benign prostatichypertrophy benign enlargement of the prostate, andadenofibromyomatous hyperplasia, refers to the increase insize of the prostate in middle-aged and elderly men. To beaccurate, the process is one of hyperplasia rather thanhypertrophy, but the nomenclature is often interchangeable,even amongst urologists. It is characterized by hyperplasiaof prostatic stromal and epithelial cells, resulting in theformation of large, fairly discrete nodules in theperiurethral region of the prostate. When sufficientlylarge, the nodules compress the urethral canal to causepartial, or sometimes virtually complete, obstruction ofthe urethra, which interferes the normal flow of urine. Essential reading
For those who suffer from chronic prostatitis, and those who treat those sufferers, this booklet is essential reading. Much of the information therein goes beyond the limited mainstream methods often practiced by urologists today, and provides means for a cure.

Total and Complete
This is a "vanity press", self-published pile of junk! Go to Google and enter "prostatitis and chronic pelvic pain" and look at the sites you get. They completely discount the theories the author Hennenfent (who no longer practises as a doctor - check the AMA listings) is pushing. What makes this so much worse is that the author seems to have some sort of relationship with the two or three clinics in the world which profit from applying the unusual treatments he recommends. Buyer beware!!

Save your money!
The book offers nothing new. It was written by a nonurologist who is stuck in the past. Curtis Nickel's book is a better buy, IMO. ... Read more
