Product Description
The book critically and concisely reviews current basic science data on the bladder and prostate, as well as the way in which the function of both is altered in benign prostatic hyperplasia to cause bladder outflow obstruction. The text is in two parts: the first deals with the basic science aspects, and the second provides a review of the reasons for prostatectomy and the safety of this procedure. Additionally, there is an examination of the recent literature on pharmaco-therapy of the prostate and some of the contemporary techniques used in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia. The particular combination of clinical practice with those basic sciences applicable to clinical practice provides a clear and useful overview of the subject matter. ... Read more

Product Description
If you are a man suffering from the unpleasant, sometimes agonizing symptoms ofprostate enlargement, you are not alone. By age 50, half of all normally virile men have some sign of the disease, called benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH. By age 60, 60 percent of all men suffer from it. By age 70, it is 70 percent. And by age 80, a startling 90 percent of men will suffer significant symptoms.

Most men suffer in silence, too embarrassed to admit to the discomfort that disrupts their personal and professional lives. Every day these men battle symptoms that range from the annoying to the excruciating, such as the need to urinate constantly, difficulty in urinating, incontinence, bladder infections, and the psychological implications of the disease.

But help is finally here for the millions of men who have sought, but not found, relief from this pervasive disease. In The Prostate Cure, renowned physician Harry Preuss, M.D., and Brenda Adderly, MHA, coauthor of the New York Times best-seller The Arthritis Cure, provide a revolutionary, seven-step program that will significantly reduce and even eliminate the symptoms of BPH.

This highly effective program is a radical improvement over current treatments for BPH, such as herbal supplements that don't work, prescription drugs that have side effects, and painful surgery that can cause long-term complications. In The Prostate Cure, you will find out about the miraculous nutritional supplement Cernitin, a flower pollen extract that has greatly reduced and eliminated symptoms of BPH in millions of men around the world, and is just now becoming available in the United States. This natural approach to treating BPH is part of a larger seven-step program that promotes a healthy prostate through healthy living.

With a detailed description of the symptoms of enlarged prostate, a thorough analysis of all available treatments for BPH, a complete guide to the history and efficacy of Cernitin, and an aggressive program that combines diet, exercise, and Cernitin in an accessible way, The Prostate Cure offers help and hope to millions of men who thought that there would never be a cure for prostate enlargement.

End the silence on the pain, discomfort, and distress suffered by millions of men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). In this breakthrough book you will find:

  • The complete story of a remarkable natural flower pollen extract called Cernitin that has greatly reduced and often fully cured the symptoms of BPH in men all over the world--and now will be widely available in the United States.
  • New research on the effectiveness of popular herbal supplements such as saw palmetto, pygeum, and stinging nettle.
  • Information on the different surgical treatments for BPH, and how much of the time painful surgery is not necessary.
  • An easy-to-follow, seven-step proactive program that will improve overall health, renew virility, and alleviate the unpleasant symptoms of BPH.
Amazon.com Review
By age 50, half of all men have some noticeable signs ofbenign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)--enlargement of the prostate--whicheventually affects nearly all men as they age. The major symptom, increased frequency of urination, may range from annoying toagonizing. The Prostate Cure describes BPH, its causes, symptoms, and treatments, in a lucid, compassionate, accessiblestyle. Each chapter begins with a list of questions that the chapteranswers, making it easy to find information.

Although BPH may be inevitable, the symptoms are not, say theauthors, because of the variety of treatment options available. Thebook describes watchful waiting (periodic examinations for mildsymptoms), various surgical interventions (when the urethralobstruction and discomfort are severe and other treatments don'twork), and several prescription and herbal medications: how they work, their effectiveness, concerns, side effects, and researchfindings. This all leads up to the medication the authors prefer:Cernitin, an extract of flower pollen that reduces engorgement of theprostate tissues, improves urine flow, and inhibits prostategrowth. Widely researched and used abroad, Cernitin has been virtuallyunknown in the United States. The book presents a seven-step program fortreating BPH, which incorporates using Cernitin and making healthylifestyle changes--changes which include a diet that promotes prostatehealth. --Joan Price ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
Copyright 1998A run of the mill average advice on natural ways to work with prostate problems.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Prostate Cure
I have been suffering from cronic prostatites since I was 40 years old (I'm 54 now). I had tried many Doctor prescribed treatments but the symptoms continued to reoccur. I then heard about saw palmetto and started taking it 4 years ago, which helped greatly for the first 3 years. Then I noticed it was not helping as much and searched for help.I bought the Prostate Cure from Amazon and read it thoroughly. It was very reassuring to know that there may be help. I performed a search on the internet for Cernitin and purchased a bottle immediately.
I have been taking it for a year and it has been a very successful treatment for my prostate.I still continue to take a mens health vitamin with 160mg saw palmetto and other vitamins and minerals. The title is misleading in that it is not really a cure, if I stop taking the cernitin the symptoms return. However with continued treatment I have become a new man.

5-0 out of 5 stars I've noticed a definite difference
After reading the book I started taking Cernilton because I was beginning to have problems related to my prostate (58 year old male). If I remember correctly, I started to notice a difference within 2 weeks. My PSA test afew months ago was 1.5 & my previously slightly enlarged prostate hadreduced in size. I'm very glad that I read this book because the products Ihad been taking for the prostate had limited or no noticeable effects.

4-0 out of 5 stars well written book with alot of answers
