4-0 out of 5 stars Well written and focused
Gill demonstrates not only his education, but his dedication to the field of research and methodology in his work.Explaining methods and analytical tools in a descriptive, yet still simplistic, fashion, Gill allows thereader to learn his opinion. The book, however, did carry a slight tone ofarrogance that was unbecoming of an otherwise very professional piece.Iwould recommend it to the PhD or Grad students ... Read more

Product Description
Students of all Schools For The Blind can find themselves between the covers of Dreaming In Color.Special needs students in the public schools across the nation can relate to the story of Mary Beard and her struggles with an alternative education.Meanwhile, mainstream students more than ever find themselves as friends and classmates of the visually impaired, especially in today's classrooms where assimilation is encouraged and often times required. Many students now understand that a day in the life of a blind student is quite similar to their own daily routines.Aspiring college students hoping to become teachers could be inspired to focus on a career in special education.Any young adult who has searched for an absent parent, fell in love, or fought off a bully can relate to the themes of the author's novel.Knowing that the story is inspired by true circumstances only enhances its ability to appeal to an expanded audience. Although the author's primary theme is Mary Beard's triumph over blindness, she also included elements centering on family secrets, mystery and friendship. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Dreaming In Color ..... Amazing !
This book shows how amazing people with special needs really are.
I read this book, my 17 year old and my 11 year old daughters read it, and we all loved the book.It is very refreshing and has a lesson to it if you read it thoroughly.
It is very obvious that the target group is from 5th grade age to high school.
I loved the fact that I felt like I was right there in the hallways with the kids.

1-0 out of 5 stars Dreaming in Color
I was disappointed in my book, and gave it away to someone else.
My younger kids might have liked to read it.
It was like reading a story that a high school kid would make up in school for homework. I just think it wasn't written very well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dreaming in color ...Look out Nancy Drew
This was a fun book to read with a fun mystery.I would have loved to see this as a series of books when I was a young teen.
Great story,Fun characters. It was also so refreshing to see a whole new world through the eyes of a blind girl(Mary).

5-0 out of 5 stars Loved it!
I bought this book on Saturday and read it within a couple of hours. It was one that I could not put down. The only negative thing I have to say about it is that there's not a second book to follow so that I can find out what happens to Mary in the next phase of her life!Get writing, Claudia!!!! :) LOVED IT!!Tina :)

4-0 out of 5 stars Dreaming in color
I didn't just read Dreaming in color, I moved in and walked the hall ways of school again. ... Read more
