Product Description
Author Marios Kyriazis brings a wealth of medical expertise to one of the most important breakthroughs in recent times to help combat a disease called “senile cataract”, which affects one in five people over the age of fifty-five.

In the past, the only treatment available for this chronic condition was painful and potentially dangerous surgery to remove the cataract. Other treatments are now available, specifically, the new Russian breakthrough N-acetylcarnosine. In clinical trials, this treatment has shown dramatic and impressive results in treating age-related cataracts.

The Cataract Cure also covers other associated eye disorders including:

  • Glaucoma
  • Macular Degeneration
  • Infection of the cornea
  • Dry eye syndrome
  • Computer vision syndrome
  • Eyestrain
  • Blurred vision

The Cataract Cure is an essential resource for those cataract sufferers who are looking for an alternative treatment and want to avoid eye surgery.

The answer to curing senile cataract is clear—don’t lose sight of it!

1-0 out of 5 stars The Cataract Cure
This is not a book - it is a sales brochure. It is selling a particular brand of n-acetylcarnosine. I thought it shocking that they actually charge for this so-called book.Any information in this book is available on the web.

5-0 out of 5 stars Can-C is the best eye drop
You can't think all eye drops are alike. The Can-c eye drop is made with a more pure N-acetylcarnocine than the others. The Doctor that developed this eye drop, did many clinical trials on animals and humans. He made sure that Can-c was the best drop available. It does really work.
I purchase mine from Wise Choice Medicine. They are very nice there, and work with
me to make sure I am achieving the best out come.

5-0 out of 5 stars Cataract surgery may become obsolete!
I am a retired physicist working on a clean planet, unfortunately, a cataract occured in one eye. I was waiting for my cataract surgery, but was reluctant to have my crystalline remouved. I was thinking about a possible alternative, since, Edgar Cayce, Dr. Norman Walker and Dr.J. Reilly who treated Bob Hope had seen remission by diet and osteopathic treatment. This book convinced me to try the N-acetylcarnosine eye drops treatment described in it. It is a clever approach, worthy of a serious trial. I have done the treatment for one month now and will continue for one year.

5-0 out of 5 stars Cataract Cure
Have cataracts developing for about 5-6yrs. Have dry eye syndrome also. Have used Can-C for about a month.Have seen improvement in eye sight slightly already and the dry eyes feel much better, using drops only at night. I plan to continue use until my next appointment in six months.Expecting no more cataracts.

3-0 out of 5 stars Where can one find people talking about CAN-C's efficacy?
I've been taking "Bright Eyes" (version highlighted in a UK TV show) for four months, and although my night and day glare problem has drastically reduced, I'm seeing no improvement yet in terms of visual echoes with my cataract -- in fact, it appears to me to have worsened.

I've been trying to find internet sites where people are sharing experiences with this some six year old eye/cataract therapy, but I can't find any!On the other hand, I can find ophthalmic surgeons calling it "snake oil" and I can find lists of quotes puportedly from people thrilled by the treatment -- unfortunately, lists of quotes are easy to manufacture.

My one and only communication with a tangible person who had been taking the drops culminated in learning that after eight months of the drops, his ophthalmic surgeon informed him the cataract had grown, and he was resultantly scheduled for cataract surgery for mid this December.(From what I've read of research into the efficacy of these drops, at the very least, cataract growth is halted, and in the preponderance of cases, it reverses.)

I've thus far spent about $450 on drops and I'm having increasing difficulty believing it's more than smoke and mirrors. In this age of the internet, where pretty much anything and everything is discussed online, where can I find people discussing their personal successes and/or dissapointments with this treatment (treatment of people, that is, not pets)?Where can I find anything that isn't in effect -- advertising?

The words of Doctors and researchers (both of whom could potentially benefit from product sales) are nowhere near as compelling as those of patients, and I don't mean quotes!(Efficacy results from recognized research teams would also be helpful, but I understand nothing of that sort has been reported.) ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Good guide for cataract patients
I read this book before going to see Dr. Devgan about my cataracts. It was informative and helped define terms that one needs to know in order to have a good conversation with their doctor about their eyes, and understand the pending surgery.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book literally saved my vision.Thank you!
I have always had vision in one eye only because I was born with a lazy eye. When I developed a cataract in my only eye due to chemotherapy and steroids (i have end stage cancer) I was very concerned. One of my lungs is completely gone because of the cancer and the other lung is 3/4 full of cancer fluid.I'm on oxygen 24/7 but still have very low oxygen level in the blood. You see, all of these complications that I have make me a very high risk patient for cataract surgery. I was going blind and most eye surgeons didn't want to touch me.I want to enjoy and live my life, even if I have just a few months left.Life has been very painful with having cancer and being blind would kill me much sooner.I purchased this book and it gave me great knowledge about the eye condition I had developed. It was worth it for me to have my family drive me 2 hours to see Dr. Devgan. If I hadn't read this wonderful book, I might not have found the true expert in cataract surgery.Dr. Devgan saved my vision, and gave me a reason to enjoy life.

This book is a must read for anyone considering cataract surgery. The book is simple and easy to read and can be read cover to cover in about an hour. I learned so much and I'm so glad. I opted to get the very best lens implanted in my eye and it has given me back my youthful vision. I recommend this book to anyone who has been diagnosed with cataracts or is considering cataract surgery.

5-0 out of 5 stars informative and reassuring information
The easy to read guide lets a prospective patient for cataract surgery learn what to expect from the process. It is a reassuring guide for those who might be anxious about any surgery in general and eye surgery in particular. The illustrations give useful information and the writing is easy to understand.Recommended for anyone who is considering this operation. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Wordy Poetry
Of course, poetry is all words and pictures in your mind... but my opinion is that young children will have trouble with this book simply because it uses words like "moreover," "anon," "laureate," "vocation," and many others that most adults would have to look up in a dictionary to fully understand.

One deliciously clever part of this book is that the text changes as the water flows over a waterfall. (You have to turn the book to read it, as the waterfall goes across the pages from left to right and the words are turned sideways to follow the flow!

If you're looking for a beautifully descriptive poem with lots of old English language, this is perfect. The illustrations are lovely and the poem itself is wonderful... but children may need quite a bit of explanation and assistance if they were to read or listen to this book.

As a teacher, I'd say a practical use might be to give sections of this poem to children (older grades) and have them practice their context clue and dictionary skills to figure out what the words mean. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars `What you don't know about your eyes can hurt your vision'
I picked up this book as part of my current search for information about glaucoma. While this book reinforces much of the information about glaucoma I've picked up from other sources, I found some aspects particularly useful.Conditions that impact on sight can be very stressful for those of us who have taken good vision for granted. For those of us who are excessively print-oriented (as many readers are) the prospect of vision damage or loss can be terrifying.

In this book, the diagrams presenting the anatomy and physiology of the eye are well labelled and easy to follow. Making sense of diagrams can be difficult for those of dealing with any degree of visual impairment, and keeping diagrams free of clutter while conveying all of the necessary information is challenging. The step by step process of diagnosis and treatment is also helpful as it explains what tests might be involved and why.All of this is information that some patients may find useful, and others who are seeking more general information about various eye conditions may find informative.

I found the book informative without being overwhelming. The book contains a good glossary and index. Some of the information on treatments may not be current (the book was published in 1992) but the underlying explanations and diagrams are.As with other books on medical conditions requiring specialist treatment, this book augments professional advice. If you've been diagnosed with glaucoma or with cataracts (or are close to someone who has) you may wish to consider this book.

Age-related macular degeneration is the most common cause of severe visual impairment in older Americans. Approximately 1.7 million have decreased vision and 100,000 are blind from the disease.

Glaucoma afflicts over 2 million and has caused blindness in 120,000 people in the United States. It is the leading cause of blindness in African-Americans.

Diabetic retinopathy is the leading cause of blindness for Americans under 60. Diabetics are 25 times more at risk for blindness than the generalpopulation.

5-0 out of 5 stars biblberry info
This book has a valuable amount of information regarding the health benefits of bilberry extract. It explains the way bilberry helps diabetic retinopathy.I am hoping this information will also help a family member with macular degeneration. This small easy to read book tells dosage recommendations also.

1-0 out of 5 stars Look elsewhere. This pub is awful.
Bilberry & Lutein is replete with words and phrases like "ischaemia reperfusion injury", "artiolar tone", and "vasomotion".But mostly they are not anywhere defined.Evidently the reader is supposed to dope out their meaning from context.Lotsa luck.

Again, there are sentences like, "Italian researchers also showed that bilberry anthocyanosides was beneficial against on ischaemia reperfusion injury...."
And there are facts like, "Corn is the vegetable with the highest quantity of lutein...".(According to the USDA database, spinach, kale, and various other kinds of greens contain many times as much lutein per unit weight as corn.)

I read a lot of health literature.I found Lutein & Bilberry exceedingly difficult to puzzle out, and to the extent I managed to do so, rather unreliable. It reads as though written by someone whose first language is not English, whose knowledge of the subject matter going in was zero, and whose "research" consisted of reading abstracts of journal articles and copying out sentences from them not too carefully.I find the pamphlet (at 28 pages of large-print text, it certainly is not a book) so bad that I have strong doubts about the genuineness of the three enthusiastic reviews that are standing as I write this one.Bilberry and lutein are undoubtedly good for you, but if you want the details, look elsewhere.

At the end of the pamphlet is a full-page, 30-item, list of titles (including Bilberry & Lutein), all but two by Beth Ley, offered for sale by BL Publications. For me, this author's name on any publication is sufficient reason to reject it without further consideration.

For info on the significance of Ms. Ley's "Ph. D.", see:
[...].

5-0 out of 5 stars Shortand complete!
This book is short, yet it covers all the essential information you need regarding Bilberry and Lutein for healthy eyes.
Ley covers it all in easy to understand language. A fast read for busy readers who don't want to be short-changed on information. The title of this book is a perfect summary of its contents.

5-0 out of 5 stars PROTECTING OUR EYES!
This is aneasy to read guide to learning about our eyes and how to safeguard our vision. This compact thirty-ninepage phamplet offers insight into Macular Degeneration, Cataracts, Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, Night Blindness,"Snow" Blindness, Antioxidants, Bilberry, Lutein, and nuturing properties contained in some foods.

Author Beth M. Ley, Ph.D,has given us the first step, the basics,in helping us to help ourselves. I especially liked the chapter on foods.Spinach, collard greens, leeks, peas, kiwi fruit, zucchini, corn, grapes, kale, squash, broccoli.I knew about carrots but not the other veggies and fruits.

Author Ley includes results ofstudies documenting those at risk for eye damage, and emphasizes that our eyes are our most delicate and sensitive organs. Protect them.

4-0 out of 5 stars I wish there was a book this thorough and readable for every section of the Colorado.
"Cataract Canyon" is an incredibly readable treasure of book, disguised by its subtitle and size as something of a textbook. But it's not just a volume of research material--though it does have excellent accounts of the area's geology, history, and ecological controversy. It's also an incredibly gripping read for anyone who loves the Colorado River, who loves rivers in general, or who loves the West.It tells the story of Cataract Canyon as one might tell an exciting narrative.
Read this book, and then visit Cataract Canyon for yourself. It will be like reading the biography of a famous historic figure, then realizing that person (although ancient) is still alive, then meeting that person and finding out she's more amazing than even the best book could ever tell.
This is an excellent, well-written, scrupulously researched book that no fan of the Colorado Plateau should be without. It contains many excellent now-and-then photos, great accounts of historical figures such as Denis Julien, and a terrific chapter on the portion of Cataract Canyon that's usually submerged beneath Lake Powell.Buy it, buy it, buy it.
(Note however that Robert Webb is only one of the book's three authors; the others include John Weisheit, Conservation Director for the environmental group Living Rivers.) ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Helped Educate Me on My Condition
Having recently been diagnosed with cataracts in both eyes, I needed to understand what to expect for my future vision and upcoming surgeries/procedures. While the edition of the book that I purchased was published in 1993 (thus making it's discussions on "advanced surgical techniques" antiquated), it gave a remarkable overview of how the eye works and what causes cataracts. History of cataract surgery and the physicians who contributed to its advancement are well documented, as well. The author did a wonderful job of speaking to his audience with respect and compassion. He used language for the lay person, all the while educating readers. I will keep this book as a reference in walking me through the various stages of my journey to save my vision.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must forpersons having cataract surgery
I strongly recommend this book for anyone considering cataract surgery. I wish I had read it before having surgery, I would have had a much better idea of what was going on. The illustrations are very clear and the writers sense of humor is appreciated. Also, the short history of cataract surgerymakes one feel lucky to be living today with surgeons having so manysophisticated tools. ... Read more
