Good if you know nothing
This would be a great guide to those that have been just diagnosed, and know absolutely nothing.But for those of us that have had IC for any length of time, and have done so much as to "google it," or look it up on Wikipedia; then it is somewhat of a waste of money.
If you have a relationship in your life that is struggling b/c of your IC I would recomend buying this as a refference for that person to read, because it is easy to understand, gets the info. out there quickly and concisely and in a way that most people can tolerate reading because they don't have to wade through medical documents after medical document. ... Patients may also experience nocturia , pelvic floor dysfunction and tension (thus making it difficult to start their urine stream), pain with sexual intercourse , and discomfort and difficulty driving, traveling or working. Research has claimed that the quality of life of some IC patients is equivalent to those with end stage renal failure . It is not unusual for patients to have been misdiagnosed with a variety of other conditions, including: overactive bladder , urethritis , urethral syndrome , trigonitis , prostatitis and other generic terms used to describe frequency/urgency symptoms in the urinary tract. BPS/IC affects men and women of all cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, and ages.
