1-0 out of 5 stars Absolute Crap - a complete waste of my money
Completely and utterly not worth your money...I'm looking for some sort of information on WHY this article claims that DPT reactions are a myth. All this article is is a 3 paragraph denial of the allegations of several parents that their children were damaged by the DPT shot. WITHOUT ANY PROOF. All the article does is talk about how some parents were scared of DPT reactions and created "frivolous" lawsuits and panic everywhere. It goes on to say that the media got a hold of it and blew it all up.

In conclusion...I know from my own life that it isn't true. My older sister had a DPT reaction at the age of 4 months. Like many of the other cases, she had extreme diarrhea, high pitched screaming, a glazed over look, and a temperature about 3 days after her 2nd DPT. My parents took her into the doctor in the morning and he diagnosed her with an earache and stomache flu. 18 hours later, she was in a seizure that lasted 30 minutes, shortly thereafter in the ICU. From that point on, my sister's medical records indicate an extremely complex seizure disorder which nobody had an answer for. For the next three years she would suffer from seizures which many times lasted for over an hour. Many times she had to be recusitated. THE DOCTORS NEVER COULD FIND AN EXPLANATION - EXCEPT FOR THE DPT SHOT. For years they did cultures, they did tests and THE ONLY CONCLUSION THEY CAN COME TO IS THAT HER EPILEPSY IS A DPT REACTION.
Today she is doing much better. Her seizures are grand mal, usually last for 1-2 minutes and occur on a weekly basis. But she is severly brain damaged from the DPT and medications they have given her for years to control the epilepsy. She is 23 and about the mental age of a 2 year old.
THERE WERE NO MEDICAL PROBLEMS PRIOR TO THE DPT - HER APGAR SCORES WERE NEARLY PERFECT.

I found this article to be completely offensive, it has absolutely no scientific element in it. The author appears to have given the subject very little research. It reminded me of 1984 - deny deny deny.
This is not what I have seen with my own eyes.
This is not what my family has lived with for years.

You cannot tell me that DPT reactions are a myth. And if you're going to try to prove it, actually try. Don't make a 3 paragraph crock of poorly researched bull***t that was not worth my time. ... Read more

Product Description
The 18th century was a wealth of knowledge, exploration and rapidly growing technology and expanding record-keeping made possible by advances in the printing press. In its determination to preserve the century of revolution, Gale initiated a revolution of its own: digitization of epic proportions to preserve these invaluable works in the largest archive of its kind. Now for the first time these high-quality digital copies of original 18th century manuscripts are available in print, making them highly accessible to libraries, undergraduate students, and independent scholars.
Medical theory and practice of the 1700s developed rapidly, as is evidenced by the extensive collection, which includes descriptions of diseases, their conditions, and treatments. Books on science and technology, agriculture, military technology, natural philosophy, even cookbooks, are all contained here.
