So far so good
Did not read it yet but book was in good condition and was received quickly.

A huge help for parents and kids
My daughter was recently diagnosed with scoliosis and this book has helped her more than anything else to understand what that means. It has also been a huge comfort for her to know that so many other kids have already had to face what she is now going through. She has already read the book twice and refers to it whenever the topic of scoliosis comes up. I highly recommend this book to all parents and children facing a similar diagnosis. Five stars.

Perfect for a New Scoliosis Kid!
This book will go a long way toward showing any kid faced with wearing a new scoliosis brace what it's like to have scoliosis and what to expect. Told in the first person from a fifth-grade girl's point of view, the book takes you through the entire process from diagnosis to treatment.

My daughter and I are reading this aloud to each other every night, while she wears her new brace. I can see the optimism building on her little face with each paragraph. And, it's making me feel better about the brace and the role it will have in her life for 20 hours a day for the next few years.

Just OK
This book is very, very brief. Not many pages and the pages that are there are mostly white space.

But what I dislike most is that the author steals 5,000 year old yoga poses and renames them after herself and claims a new exercise program.

Aimed at Young Teens
The previous reviewer did not like this book.It should be noted, however, that this particular book is aimed at fairly young scoliosis patients, probably the adolescent just recently diagnosed.If you are looking for more detailed material or are an adult facing surgery, you should look elsewhere that is certain.However, for the young person newly diagnosed, this book seemed to me to be fairly well written and at a grade level easily understood by most preteens and teens.I would certainly be more reluctant to put anything as detailed as some of the other books in the typical young person's hands.This book is one of the few aimed specifically at young people, and covers most of the areas for young scoliosis patients.

Don't bother...
This book I ordered from amazon.com and it arrived today. It was very simple and not very detailed at all. I read the bulk of it in a very shortperiod of time. I have been recently diagnosed with scoliosis and am havingsurgery soon. This book was not very helpful at all. If anything, it mademe more confused and less adjusted to the surgery. I do not recommend thisto anyone, unless they haven't really done any previous research. I canimagine it helping someone who has not been to a doctor yet or someone whois unsure. Overall, this book is not very good and I feel if you arepreparing for surgery you should get a different book. Do not waste yourmoney on this. Try "Ascending the Curve", also at amazon.com. This book is a research guide. It points you to a lot of good information. I would stongly recommend this book if you are new to Scoliosis.

This book isn't for the run-of-the-mill scoliosis patient.There is a good scoliosis overview, but mostly it's information for people who want to do their own research.Ifbooks like The Scoliosis Sourcebook and Stopping Scoliosis aren't as technical as you like, and you want to read the original source material that makes up most of what the medical community knows about scoliosis, this book could be for you.There are hundreds of URLs, which could be an element that quickly makes the material obsolete. ... Bracing Cures Nothing
This book is not worth the paper it is written on. I should know, I have a 70 degree progressive curve and no chiropractor in the world would even THINK of trying to fix my back. It has been proven that injection therapy,aquatic therapy and excercise has no "lasting" effects on aprogressive curve.. why?Because it PROGRESSES.

This is not the book foryou if you have a severe progressive curve. Look elsewhere for the answersyou seek.

Scoliosis : Correction Without Braces or Surgery

Should be a NO star, but that wasn't a choice
Expecting to get some useful information that would actually help my child, boy was I surprised when all I got was a bunch of decades old pictures of befores and afters.There is absolutely no information in thisbook about how to correct scoliosis in any way shape or form.It is a bookthat says,"this patient went to the chiropractor blah, blah,blah"There is not one excercise or helpful hint that can be done bythe patient or the parent.It is merely a book that says chiropractors cancure any degree of scoliosis with pictures of success stories, like theywould include pictures of patients they could not help, or in fact madeworse, duhh!!!!!DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!! ...
