Written primarily for physiotherapists, these two volumes should be required reading for all strength coaches, personal trainers and athletes. Excellent neuroradiology book
Scott Atlas' MRI of the brain and spine in my opinion is one of the leading textbooks on imaging diagnosis of brain and spine disorders,a must for neuroradiologists.
It is complete in every section, covering all aspects of brain and spine diseases with deep analisys of both pathological and imaging features. It has very good images and figures legends that i have found helpfulin studying neuroradiology as well as in the everyday reporting activity.
Even if the part about MRI physic is quite difficult to understand, I think that itis well-written and essential to become fully confident with MR imaging.
Understand to learn, this is the strenght of this book.

CAVEAT EMPTOR! May end up with just Volume 1!
I ordered this 2 volume set expecting to get both books. Lo and behold, the order arrives with just volume 1! Had I known this problem would occur, I would just have gone ahead and purchased the book at a discount from the publisher website. I complained by phone, and the customer service representative seemed to have a very hard time understanding what the problem was. I had to try to explain over and over and over before I got anywhere. It was only after I gave the actual two separate ISBN numbers corresponding to this two book set that the AMAZON representative started understanding. To add insult to injury, several weeks after volume 2 finally arrived, I got an email from AMAZON reminding me that they had not received the initial book I was supposed to have returned! Apparently, my initial complaint was processed as a return, and AMAZON was expecting to have volume 1 returned. I had to explain that the order was incomplete to begin with and that I had received only 1 of the 2 books of the two volume set I had paid for and that there was therefore nothing for me to return to AMAZON! I was then told that the email was sent out in error. I would seriously think twice before ordering this book from AMAZON. You do not want to end up wasting time with a fisaco like this.

Great neuroradiology book
This is an essential texbook. While today most texbooks tend to become atlases of images that contain very little written information, this one manages to be very well written and contain a lot of information in addition to having very nice images. While it was sometimes difficult to find a difference between the second and first editions, this work has now had quite an overhaul. It might not be ultra-new but it is very nice. It has been expanded to two volumes. It also conbtains a very nice and extensive section on the spine which was one of the main weaknesses of the book by Anne Osborne. this is clearly superior even if it lacks the wonderful tables of that other book. SAome of the more basic chapters may be somewhat complex but they can be easily skipped in favour of the great clinical content.

Not worth the money.
Both poorly written and edited.Pictures are poor quality.Too much basic science and not enough clinical application.Overall, good for Ph.Ds, not physicians.Far superior books available for radiologists and radiologists in training at cheaper price.

readable and concise
Complete well organized text. Very readable with the exception of the sections on MRI physics (a little too much "high-level", mathematical physics for the everyday neuroradiologist).
