Product Description
In this well established book, now brought up to date in a second edition, the Technical Editor of `Performance Bikes' shows you how to evaluate your engine, how to assess what work you can undertake yourself, and what is best left to a specialist.

The great attraction of the two-stroke is its enormous potential, contrasted with its appealing simplicity. Armed with little more than a set of files, you can make profound changes to the output power of a two-stroke. But these changes will increase the
power only if you know what you are doing. `Motor Cycle Tuning (Two-stroke)' will therefore guide you through the necessary stages which can enable a stock roadster engine can be turned into a machine capable of winning open-class races, for an outlay which is positively low by racing standards.Very few other books on engine development and most of these are either devoted to car engines or are out of date Promoted by PERFORMANCE BIKES ... 1-0 out of 5 stars I didn't find this helpful
I'm very sorry to be negative but I did not like this book. I found that this book muddied the waters regarding two stroke engine operation more than providing any helpful insights. In my opinion Bell's book is a better practical guide, and Blair's book is the best of all for someone who wants to understand the processes involved in two stroke engine operation and then apply them.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Two-Stroke explanied by extreme detail
Very informative with info on what each modification does to two-stroke power. You will understand just about the whole inner workings of a two-stroke motor once you read this book thoughly. Some paragraphs you mayneed to read twice, just because they contain so much info. ... Read more

STROKES OF MIDNIGHT
HOPE TARR

Rating: 4 Enchantments

Becky Stone's horoscope promises her the new year will bring her great things. But when a meeting with her editor in New York brings bad news, Becky's new year might start off all wrong. That is, until she stumbles into `Max' not only once, but twice. Maybe her horoscope isn't so wrong after all.

Action-adventure author Adam Maxwell can't believe his editor's news. There's no way he's going to team up with another writer, let alone a romance writer for the next book in his action adventure series. On the way back to his hotel, he literally bumps into a beautiful woman on the street but the two go their own ways before he can do more than rescue her newly bought shoe from the snow. But when he runs into her in the bar of his hotel that same night, he decides not to let her get away for a second time in less than twenty-four hours.

Each chapter starts off uniquely with a scene from Becky and Adam's book that correlates to the characters' romance. I especially loved the scene where they first meet, when they literally bump into each other on the street and Max rescues Becky's latest purchase, the shoes she probably can't afford now that her writing career is heading downhill.

Fans of Ms. Tarr won't be disappointed with "Strokes of Midnight". Another great, sexy read by this talented author.

5-0 out of 5 stars Countdown to midnight...
Ms. Tarr has crafted a wonderful story within a story. I loved how Becky and Adam's alter literary characters also made an appearance and even reflected a bit of the plot. I found the characters (all of them) to be well drawn-out and I found myself rooting for them to get together. Nicely done!

5-0 out of 5 stars 100% Egyptian Cotton!! :)
Once again Hope Tarr has written a romance novel a GUY can enjoy reading!
Strokes of Midnight is a genuinely-entertaining plot of passion, lust, and one hell of a hot time between two lovers! The way Ms. Tarr describes a love scene is second to none. Pick this one up if you like SCORCHING HOT sexy stories!

5-0 out of 5 stars "two" blazing romances
Author Becky Stone hopes her horoscope proves correct as it states she in for a great year. She assumes if the stars are accurate her goals will be met of landing on the NYT bestseller list and finding a hunk to share her life with

The New Year proves promising when she shares the greatest sex of her life following a writer's party. However, once the holiday passes, her agent informs her that her bed hopping heroine Angelique is out and that as a mid level author she is in trouble. To survive she must collaborate with male adventure writer Adam Maxwell, who is a recluse living on the top of White Mountain, New England's highest peak.Becky says no to the proposal she once said romance writing is "housewife porn".However, she reconsiders when she learns the stranger who gave her orgasms like never before lives is the recluse on White Mountain when he is not in town attending a publishing function.

With its "novel" within the novel (extracts from the lead couple's joint efforts open each chapter), this is a fun well written contemporary romance. The story line is fast-paced from the moment that Becky learns if Angelique is to survive another book she needs to team up with Adam's action hero Drake and never takes a breather whether their characters or the lead couple is front and center. This a well written creative tale as Hope Tarr entertains sub-genre fans with "two" blazing romances.

5-0 out of 5 stars An adventure in altered consciousness
"Most of us...were raised to fear cancer, but now it provides a chance to live the juxtaposition of being inward and outward, with time and support to cocoon, rest, reflect... I felt that even if I had died, this would have been worth it." These words sum up what makes "Breast Strokes" so unusual. Cathy Edgett's decision to stay receptive and to appreciate the "unexpected gifts of cancer" transforms the experience into an adventure in altered consciousness. I often had to stop to absorb (and note down) the breath-taking insights in her journal and poetry.

I plan to return and read, this time, just the contributions of Jane Flint, for I was so drawn into Cathy's consciousness I found myself unwilling to interrupt the flow of it. Yet one senses how Jane's more earthy sensibility provides grounding as Cathy floats more and more freely into the realm of "chemo brain."

You know a book is deeply absorbing when you are left with questions, wanting to know even more.Do you miss that altered state at all, I want to ask. Or does it leave a lasting change even when illness is banished into the past?

5-0 out of 5 stars note to Cathy
I was so emotional when I when I read your book..it was very hard to keep going at times...and then very wonderful to see how your mind and attitude lifted you and carried you along during your time of uncertainty.....how you had to rise above physical pain and then some days just grit your teeth and bear it.....

I particularly liked the factthat it was really a journey of your soul....for most people can find out the facts aboutcancer treatment..but I for one, always wonder..what goes on inside your heart and head at a time when you are challenged to your core?

The play of poetry was remarkable...your two styles could not be more different..and yet they were so compatible...Jane's concreteness...I love the way she brings you down to earth... contrasted by your ethereal images and lightness...I would think...you (Cathy) needed to escape and fly above all of this to get through...and then other times crash down to earth, with the unrelenting pull of the gravity of the situation.....

I admired Jane's strength..her constancy...and too I wondered abouther...and what she has been through..to have the ability to recognize what you needed and then deliver it. I read it slowly....trying to notice things like the eleven leaves that appear on the cover....and how they fell in to the story.
You will have to excuse me for using the term story...when it IS your life...and your challenge and your bravery and your family and your neighbors and your openness to the situation.

Here is what I like most about the book....it is in some ways an Everyman story...specific, but not...it is a book I would reach for again to re-read the poetry..in fact my next reading of it will just be the poetry...
and then I would like to go back and read it altogether again...
it made me smile, it made me cry, and it taught me about friendship and it gave me hope.....it is the side of the journey that I am most interested in...what happens to your heart and soul....what do we use as a buoy when we are drowning in the failure of our body, our situation...
Our bodies carry us through this life and this atmosphere...the body brings us pleasure and pain....it allows us to see, hear, feel, touch..it is a vehicle for the person who dwells with in.....we can't be here on this earth without it.....and yet our spirit is such a powerful force...it can help us overcome the physical setbacks... This book is a dance of the body and soul.

5-0 out of 5 stars Breast Strokes: An Inspiring Read
This book is not an easy read. It is a treacherous, mountain journey that took me where I didn't want to go - but it left me expanded and filled me with more than I knew I had. It is a book to be savored, pondered, and shared with those you love. It is a book that leaves you better than you were before you read it. This is a book that will never be thrown away because of the things you learn from reading it - as well as the beautiful poetry it contains.

Everyone has trials. Cathy and Jane had the savvy with words to share their journey. This is a book I am thankful to have.

5-0 out of 5 stars Living Authentically in the Midst of Illness
I loved this book.It is searingly honest, touchingly vulnerable, and full of moments of hope and wisdom. However, I would not recommend it as a book to give to just anyone dealing with cancer.I think it is a GREAT book for any caregiver of someone going thru the cancer experience, or any serious illness.Cathy is so frank and open, that a caregiver would undoubtedly get insights that might otherwise remain unspoken.I can imagine it being helpful for nurses and doctors and social workers and therapists, to understand the emotional realities of their patients. But I think the patient who reads this needs to be someone who wants to know the truth.Although there is hope and spirit, there is also uncensored reality about what goes on in the body and psyche.I know there are people out there who would crave this information and who would find, in this book, a treasured companion. But there are others who might be scared off or find it too honest to handle. So for all those who crave authenticity, read this book! You will feel inspired and moved by the strength of the human spirit and by the many ways we find connection with friends and strangers.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not just a book about breast cancer.....
This book is a treasure for any of us who are faced with life's biggest challenges--Cathy's courage and Jane's constant friendship form the background for an account of the healing strength of moment to moment unflinching awareness and presence in the face of the difficulties of breast cancer treatment.Despite the subject, the combination of Cathy's luminous prose and the poetry of both Cathy and Jane provide a sense of the spacious awareness, and hope that carried them both through the process. It's truly an inspiring read, and one to return to again and again. ... Read more

Product Description
During the last few years, exciting new insights into mechanisms and treatment of stroke have been obtained from animal experiments. Hence, the use of animal models to induce stroke are of paramount importance as research tools. While a few articles on this topic have been published in select journals, until now there has not been a systematic technical book available which assists researchers in building upon commonly known knowledge.

The Manual of Stroke Models in Rats explains in great detail the methods and techniques for accomplishing different stroke models in rats, as well as some techniques using mice. Expert contributors to this text include the most recent research information available, as well as generally recognized facts, making this volume an imperative tool for those researchers seeking to identify new areas of exploration.

The first text in 20 years to detail new techniques in rat stroke models

The book begins with a statistical update of stroke in America, and proceeds to discuss the rationale for using ischemic stroke models. Major sections include different surgical models of stroke induced by the occlusion of the distal middle cerebral artery, by intraluminal filament or embolic implantation, by photochemically induced thrombosis, global cerebral ischemia induced by asphyxia cardiac arrest or by four-vessel occlusion, and brain hemorrhage. The book also includes anesthesia procedures, general principles of microsurgery, and a study of microsurgical instruments. Numerous tables, figures, and color images are used to supplement the material.

The editor, Dr. Yanlin Wang-Fischer, has published more than 40 scientific articles in various medical journals and contributed to several projects related to animal models and surgeries. In this volume, she brings together contributors who represent the cutting edge of research in the field. By reviewing the methods in this detailed technical treatise, researchers will be armed with the latest strategies in preparing their own experimental stroke models. ... Read more

Healing into Possibility: The Transformational Lessons of a Stroke
By Alison Bonds Shapiro
ISBN: 978-1-93207-324-9 (HJ Kramer/New World Library, 2009)

Being a caretaker of my father, who had a stroke, I know all too well the necessity of finding meaning, working through frustration, and even finding humor around a physical trauma. Alison Bonds Shapiro speaks with a clear voice of what to do and how to do it when dealing with your stroke or that of a loved one. It's important for anyone in this situation to know that most of what we've been told about our brains is simply not true. Our brains have a healing capacity called neuroplasticity that until recently was not recognized. But much of our healing depends on our emotional views of the situation and this is where, as a caretaker, I found the book most useful.

5-0 out of 5 stars My New Bible!
I am rehabbing from brain tumor surgery in 2007.Results were just like a stroke. This book is fabulous! It shows there are many different roads to follow, you have to do what works for you. There is no right and wrong. The most important lesson - keep working on it!If you keep trying, you can get more function back.Very inspiring.Lots of anecdotes about people she knows that have gotten back function after years, not to mention her own journey. It's helping me to push on in the long struggle to get as much function as possible - and I'm getting better all the time.I have sent this book to friends undergoing the same journey.I thoroughly recommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Healing into Possibility
Alison Bonds Shapiro did everything right. She exercised, ate well, had a great love relationship, was successful in her career, and was living her dream of illustrating a children's book. Without warning, she had two strokes. Her life would forever change.

Healing into Possibility is the story of Alison's recovery. Like most of us when life changing events occur, at first she felt very sorry for herself. Why could this happen? What did she do wrong? There had to be a logical explanation and a plan that would make everything normal again.

Of course, life is never that simple. Nonetheless, it is from such times that we learn the most about ourselves and the importance of blessings we do have in our life. Sometimes, like Alison, we also discover a strength that we never knew existed.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Must Read
A singular book that can be described as truly inspiring. It should be read even if you are not recovering from a stroke or living with a disability or illness.Alison Bonds Shapiro gives some mighty powerful lessons on living a richer and more fulfilling life.I look forward to reading her next book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Life-tested principles bring challenge, motivation, and new life
The flower coming up through the snow on the cover represents the book well. There is hope, as Alison experienced and shares so honestly and clearly, amidst hopelessness for those who refuse to give up.Even when one way of doing things is lost, there are always options for fulfillment and accomplishment in other ways.It opened my mind to the possibility that some things that I have considered to be beyond my ability may not be and it is a wonderful resource that will challenge, motivate, and rekindle new life.I highly recommend this easy read and powerful book. The Eight Principles of Transformation, at the end, have been life-tested by Alison, and are most helpful to anyone who wants to improve their life.

I was not familiar with the One-Stroke Painting method and found the book very helpful from the baisic stroke techniques to teh actual painting on paper, murals and mailboxes. It is a great book for beginners as well as seasoned painter who like the One-Stroke method.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic
This book offers so much, not only for the beginner, but any level as well. Very good instructions, & beautiful pictures to follow. You must add this to your collection.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice variety of projects
Yes, as the 1st reviewer said you have to have some different products to do Donna's variety of projects in this book. To me, this is a very nice book that rolls several of her ideas into one book instead of having to have a separate book for each type of project like she often does. The only thing that bothers me & always has is that her pansies look like they have testicles! I never figured out where she thought they should look that weird in the front of the flower. Otherwise, this is a nice book for Donna's fans old & new alike. I always look forward to Donna's new books & products! ... Read more

Product Description
After the Nuclear Spasm in the 21st century, homo sapiens was extinct, save for a tiny remnant scattered in small, primitive space colonies. At first Solar Humanity had only one goal: survival. But when the battle for existence was won, humankind began moving outward in slow, multi-generation space ships, and as then millennia passed, planet-based civilisations emerged in many star systems. In the year 27,698 A.D, to these new worlds come the Immortals, beings with strange ties to ancient Earth, who seem to live forever, who can travel light years in days - and who use their strange powers to control the existence of ordinary mortals. On the planet Pentecost, a small group sets out to find and challenge the Immortals. But in the search they themselves are changed: as Immortals, they discover a new threat, not just to themselves, but to the galaxy itself. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars I really *tried* to enjoy this book -- honest.
I've always heard good things about Sheffield's hard-science novels, and I've tried several of them, . . . but, somehow, I just can't get interested in them. The author's style simply leaves me cold. This one appears to be about finding a way to expand into the far corners of our galaxy without violating the limitation imposed by the speed of light. But I'm not sure about that, really, because I only got about 40% of the way in and then gave up because so little was happening. I was also put off by the author's apparent belief that nearly 30,000 years in the future, so little will have changed where people are concerned, both socially and culturally. Even given names are pretty much what you would find in a present-day phone book. Sheffield's science may be reliable but his imagination leaves a good deal to be desired.

5-0 out of 5 stars A look into the future.
Sheffield's writing style and use of current scientific facts to create a plausible future is present in all his science fiction books. BTSON is a fresh take on immortality, like his similar book, Tomorrow and Tomorrow. If you are interested in neurology, sociology, or just science fiction, this is a great book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Superb, full of wonderful ideas and an entertaining plot
One of my favorite science fiction books, the sort of book I think back on every once and a while that has stuck with me (I read it around 10 years ago).

Really a fantastic set of ideas!

5-0 out of 5 stars It is simply one of the best100 sci-fi books ever writen.
I dont why i've always thougt that BTSON is writen in the same style of Larry niven. Exellent science, cool charecters ( the kind that can take care of themselves in any situation ), and really amzing ideas about bigthings like immortality, and about small things like the fact that ins-state everything looks a bit different because of pseudo-red shift.Anyway, allthough im a big Niven fan, this time Sheffield took Niven in hisown style. get this book. Its really a masterpiece. Its a shame thatsheffield is not acknowledged as the giant he is.

5-0 out of 5 stars from here to eternity - book your seat
It's not often that a book can start here and now and finish at the end of the universe, and keep the same characters.

If you want to know how to travel faster than light (and forget all that Star Trek warping nonsense)this is the book. The way to the stars is really shown, this really couldhappen. Charles Sheffield demonstrates the only way the human race couldever venture beyond the solar system, and with a wealth of belivable andsympathetic characters and plot. For and sci-fi fan this is an absolutemust read. ... Read more

Product Description
A major unique feature of strokes is their acuteness with the necessity of rapid decision analysis concerning diagnosis and treatment. The last decade has seen major advances in diagnostic technology available to clinicians and development of a larger therapeutic armamentarium. These rapid changes have made it difficult for non-stroke specialists to keep up.

Stroke provides a timely and user-friendly manual, covering common and important topics in the diagnosis and treatment of stroke, which clinicians can utilize when they encounter difficult patients on the ward or in the clinic. The discussions are case-based, concise, and easily-digested, thereby providing the reader with an overview of the approach to the problem in question. ... Read more

Product Description
Book review of Out of the Blue by Bonnie Sherr Klein

Louis R. Caplan, MD

Stroke, paralysis, disability, handicap--these are all foreign words that belong in medical books. Strokes happen to other folks, old folks - not to me. But strokes can happen to anyone. Strokes affect not only the individual but the entire family and constellation of that person. What is it like to have a stroke at the prime of life--at the top of a fruitful career? Out of the Blueis the story of one individuals stroke. Although there are now lots of illness memoirs about an individuals struggles with various diseases, this book is unique in many ways. It is a first-rate read.

At age 46, Bonnie Sherr Kleinhad the first of several devastating strokes. The strokes evolved over a few short months and ultimately left her almost totally paralyzed and unable to communicate.Despite her paralysis, she could see, hear, and understand what was happening to her and what others were saying. Before the stroke Bonnie, an American- born woman living in Canada, was immersed in the 3 Fs--family, feminism, and filmmaking. She was a very productive and successful maker of award-winning documentary films that had feminist themes. She was the mother of two children of college age. She unravels the story of her strokes, the reaction and effects of her strokes on her husband--chief of family medicine at the hospital where she sought medical care--on her children, her colleagues, and her friends.

The story is told by Bonnie but she cleverly intersperses the comments and thoughts of all of the people who were involved, including her family, doctors, and filmmaker friends. She quotes verbatim from the hospital charts, and reviews the thoughts and concerns of the treating doctors as well as her doctor-husband and her children in their own words. The book reads like a film documentary, probably in the style that Bonnie would have used were she making a film. There is a Rashamon-like feeling that emerges in which the reader finds truth probably somehow emerging from the different descriptions and views expressed.

Bonnie shares her observations, her worries, her terrors as she gradually but inexorably becomes locked-in--that is paralyzed to the extent that she becomes unable to communicate her needs and wishes. The hospital care is described in detail. Myriads of doctors saw her but the diagnosis remained unclear and there was no coherent plan of action. The frustration at the inefficiency and inhumanity of the process jumps from the book. Even Bonnies husband, a respected chief-of-service at a major teaching hospital, who spent nearly full time guiding Bonnie through the labyrinths of her care, was insufficient to really make the system work well. His frustration is palpable. What would the process be like without a guiding family member who was a physician?

The diagnosis finally becomes evident after an MRI scan. Bonnie has a very rare cause of stroke. A congenital vascular malformation (a cavernous angioma) located in her brainstem, in the medulla oblongata. The grape-like cluster of blood vessels had bled several times and involved the major motor pathways emanating from the brain that controlled movements of her mouth, throat, and limbs accounting for her paralysis. The bleeding malformation was dangerously close to vital centers which controlled consciousness, and heart and respiratory function. A very skilled surgeon was found at another Canadian hospital who was able to remove the malformation.

Bonnie, her husband and children, and her physicians describe Bonnies slow and tortured recovery. The road back was long and hard. Bonnie struggled through periods of anxiety, agitation, panic, and difficulty sleeping. Many of the nurses and hospital personnel were indifferent, unsupportive, and uncaring. The portraits of the night nurses and the nurses who work in the intensive care units are the least attractive of any of the personnel depicted in the book. Psychiatric medicines were prescribed and overused in lieu of reassurance, supportive care, and understanding. Rehabilitation is a major struggle with many ups and downs. Physical and occupational therapists were for the most part very encouraging and supportive, but Bonnie had to constantly battle negative prognoses given to her. Bonnie is at first very uncomfortable with her new status as a disabled person who has many limitations, instead of the old triple-threat devil-may-care Bonnie. Very gradually she comes to grip!!s with her new persona and begins to understand what it means to be disabled. She begins to see how society in general creates barriers for people living with a variety of disabilities.

Ultimately she is able to return to her filmmaking and her advocacy work. She is able to accepther new status. She becomes a vigorous advocate for the rights of disabled individuals. She works hard to tell her own story that it may give courage and understanding to others. She is currently artistic adviser to Kick Start, a Festival of Disability Arts and Culture, where she is helping other artists with disabilities to share their stories.

This is a very well-written, no-holds barred account of a familys struggle against a serious disease that hits out of the blue. It is a battle against the disease, against an inefficientand often uncaring medical establishment, against a society that worships youth, beauty and agility and has little respect for age and infirmity. It is a book about stroke and the ravages of paralysis. It is more than anything a book about a very complex and capable individual, Bonnie Sherr Klein. Bonnie often turns the mirror on herself showing her strengths and weaknesses. She lets it all hang out. The pathos is balanced with a large quantum of humor; laughs are generously interwoven with the tears. Bonnies sense of fun and humor shines through her illness, her struggles, and her interpersonal relationships.

The book is a must read for any family with someone who has had a stroke or any other serious illness. It should be required reading for physicians and nurses, especially those that care for patients with neurological illnesses and handicaps. For anyone it is a very good read. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excelent book!
I absolutely love this book.I read it a couple of moths ago and still think about it all the time.I'd recommend it to anyone!

5-0 out of 5 stars Gripping Account of Survival
Oliver Sack, MD called this book, "a remarkable account of what it means to be paralyzed, speechless, incapable of communication yet fully conscious... and to struggle back, over the years, to an active and creative life."
I was fascinated by this feminist film maker's candid account of her devastating stroke, and learning to live with disability after seeking out a variety of therapies. You see her struggle with depression, overcoming access barriers, dealing with insensitive hospital staff, and coping with the details of bodily disfunction.
It helps me to understand the experience from the inside view.Quite enlightening.

5-0 out of 5 stars Thoughts from a Stroke Survivor
This is a great book! I have read a number of books written by stroke survivors and this is one of the best. This may well be because the book was completed several years after the event. This time gave Ms. Klein the chance to gather and refine her thoughts and experiences.

I am also a stroke survivor. Her acknowledgement that she experienced progress long after the stroke was especially encouraging to me. The medical world says that all progress stops in 3 months to a year. My experience is that the body is a living entity, which is forever changing. So, it makes sense that it would not stop changing because of any medical condition.

The book has humor and is written in a warm and caring context. I would recommend it not only for stoke survivors, but also for caretakers and for health professionals

5-0 out of 5 stars The Story of a Stroke Survivor: A Hero, Her Family & Friends
This book should be required reading for anyone in the field of rehabilitation. And it is a tremendously inspiring story for all of us who wonder how we could ever manage if we were struck with a disabling illness. If it were fiction it would be a great read. The fact that it's a truestory gives one goosebumps as well.Bonnie Klein suffered a devastatingstroke. This book is about her recovery - both physical and psychological- and the wonderful love and support she received from friends and family, especially from a wonderful husband. It also shows the predjudice andmeanness of some people when they are faced with a person who is"different".And the ignorance and arrogance of some of therehabilitation "professionals" she encountered along the way.Itis a story of terror, hope, the tremendous importance of love and support, and how one finally comes to terms with being less facile physically thanone used to be.Bonnie Klein is a hero. Her family and friends mostloving and genuine. It is a great read.

5-0 out of 5 stars Insightinto living with chronic illness.
Ms. Klein establishes important rules to live a fruitful, productive lifestyle, despite a chronic illness: Live life by celebrating life. Independence is control over one's own life measured by the quality of lifesustained with whatever help is needed. Sometimes dispair can lead todepression.Sometimes, it can be motivating. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars In-depth technical breakdown of the 2-Stroke engine.
Mr. Bell covers the various forms of 2-stroke motors with insight and expertise. A must for anyone wanting to improve the performance of any 2-stroke engine. The book is over 15 years old and could probably use someupdating since this is a rapidly changing field, but most of the practisesand procedures he suggests are still valid. All in all, this is the bestbook on 2-stoke engine on the market. (And I looked high and low for a goodbook on the subject) A high quality, hardcover publication is a little outof the norm for automotive books. A nice change. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars stroke book review
Pretty good book. I'm a practicing neurologist and it really is a good and practical book. I'd give it 5 stars but one thing about the book kind of annoyed me (seemed lazy). They cut and pasted from the radiographic and sleep apnea sections in the book to other parts of the books where the subjects came up again. This happened with quite a few paragraphs on other topics that were revisited in the book. The authors could have at least paraphrased themselves later in their own book or just sent the reader to the area they quoted. Overall though the writing style and the content were excellent and something that I'd use in my daily practice. A good study tool for the vascular boards too. ... Read more
