From the supplier: Canada has shown a significant decline in the rate of syphilis between 1980 and 1995. Syphilis cases were reported at 5.6 per 100,000 in 1980, with men accounting for 87% of the cases and women for 13% in 1983. By 1995, reported cases had declined to .04 per 100,000, men making 62% and women 34% of that population. Syphilis is a curable condition, with blood tests providing the most accurate diagnosis.
