Very disappointed
After waiting for 4 weeks, with no way of tracking my order because the vendor uses USPS, no book showed up.The vendor was very quick to refund the money, but now I have lost those 4 weeks plus now I have to wait for another one to ship from someone else.Meanwhile I am unable to tutor my daughter in math.Very disappointed! ... Not Instructional
This is not an instructional book. It is also not helpful for remediation. This book would ONLY be useful to someone who is working with a child with great interest in math desiring supplemental "fun" work in areas of interest or for a child of high intellect who enjoys patterns, puzzles, math games, and cryptic exercises. College Algebra
The book did come in time and is a good book if you only need the explanation and instructions other than that it did not include any work problems or any exercises. I was not satisfied with the product because I could not work on anything for my class.

Great book but DOES NOT come with Coursecompass Code
There's no coursecompass code included and no cd. No need to get this book if u're Gona purchase at coursecompass because you can access the textbook online. This book does not include exercises or homework that is offered at coursecompass. It does not have homework or exercises that the textbook have.This text is good if u want the hard copy in ur hand.

My Math Lab Edition Review
This book has no exercises in it. It has a lot of examples, but it would not be ok to use in place of the textbook. It was helpful, but unless your entire classes assignments are online I would just go with the actual textbook. ... Read more

Wonderful review, practice and assessment tool!
I have effectively used this book for many years to review pre-algebra concepts with students before they enter algebra.Each concept is summed up as a refresher and then problems follow.It has helped me to find where the "missing links" are for students of all ages (even for those in college who are struggling) and to give more explanations when necessary.

For those students who will be going into algebra next year, I recommend using this book as a "bridge" workbook to get them primed for success.

Great Resource
I recommend this book as a supplement for our summer program.We use the Holt series for pre-algebra and I find that the exercises in this book complement the curriculum very well.I would not use this book as a teaching tool but rather a reinforcement tool for after students have completed a course.The explainations are enough to refresh the memory with what was taught in the previous year.

Not "pre" algebra at all!
This Pre-Algebra book is hardly 'pre' algebra.There is very little explanation given followed by fairly complex problems that no student who is trying to become comfortable with using variables will be able to handle.I am a trained, experienced math teacher and tutor, and my 13 year old son is an excellent math student.However, working through this book has been frustrating for both of us, as the conceptual expectation was just too high for anyone who is not quite ready for algebra.I believed the introduction, that the student would be given problems to encourage him to be ready for algebra.What happened was reviews and tests that expected explanations for things that were never fully explained in the first place.Save yourself and your student the heartache and avoid this 'pre-algebra' book.It may be a good book to get AFTER one has studied algebra and you want extra practice as a review for future testing. ...
