5-0 out of 5 stars Great Read
Wild Ride is a great book.Once I started reading, I couldn't stop. It entertaining from beginning to end.

5-0 out of 5 stars HANG ON COWBOYS AND COWGIRLS!
This is a fun, romantic, sexy and luscious anthology of three stories that take place at the magical and hot Wild Ride Resort.I liked the lady characters, Andrea (travel writer), Krista (hotel Exec.) and Jenna (schoolteacher), and their masculine counterparts.I really enjoyed the setting and all the adult fun that takes place after sunset. The roller coaster was fun that stops right in the hotel.I can still smell the coconut oil, feel the sun, and sense all the excitement in the jacuzzi.Other reviews have covered the plots, suffice to say everyone find total love and outrageously fine sex.The book is filled with mature, confidant men and women.I liked it and passed it on to a friend.Mahalo!

5-0 out of 5 stars :0)
Loved it but the only thing is i thought it would have been a little bit more erotic but the love scenes were still great the story and concept of the hotel were also great...
A book for you to enjoy and keep for your collection...

.........................ENJOY THE BOOK.........................

5-0 out of 5 stars Hot, Hot Read
This is an anthology with interlocking stories written by LuAnn.

The first story is Whiplash - Andrea (Andi) Cooper is a travel writer, but when Janelle Port of Living Large magazine calls to offer her a terrific assignment she tries to turn it down.Apparently Oliver (Max) Maxwell, owner of Wild Ride Resort an adult amusement park had requested her to do a feature for the park.Andi does not approve of how he has ruined the Island it is located on, but there was no getting out of it.Upon arrival, Andi and Max meet under circumstances that cause an embarrassing misunderstanding.Right from the beginning Andi and Max are like striking a match in combustible material. Is Max just after a "five star rating" any way he can get it?? Or is there more to this interlude??

The second story is Hold On Tight - Travis Mackey is an ex-pro bullrider turned Country Star after a near fatal accident.Krista Ross is the director of entertainment for Wild Ride Resort, but actually is the "right hand man" for Max.She has a prejudged concept of what Travis is going to be like, and a don't mess with me attitude.Travis cannot put his finger on what it is about her that stirs his blood right from the initial introduction. This is a great story that finds Krista having to fight childhood issues and prejudices when she finds that Travis is taking down all her defences.Travis on the other hand is determined to unearth the real Krista that he can see snippets of at times, and wants this uptight, hot little number to be his exclusively. Can he bring her around to his way of thinking ??

The last in the anthology is Worth The Wait which finds childhood friends, Cole Forrester and Jenna Wagner, filling in for Cole's sister and her new husband on their honeymoon trip which had to be cancelled for unforeseen reasons. It was to late to get a refund, so they thought it would be a good idea to use the trip up.Jenna had always had a crush on Cole when she was younger, and figured that since she was now older she could handle this since she was over him.Big mistake.Cole finds himself in a catch 22 clause when he desires to have Jenna for more than just one week. Can he get her to love him the way he loves her??

These three intertwining stories are hot. They will burn up the pages and have you fanning yourself, but they are well written, and packaged as they are makes for one hot, hot enjoyable read.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hold on for one Wild RIde
Wild Ride By LuAnn McLane is a pulse pounding sexy and sassy anthology.

Whiplash has Travel Writer Andi Cooper being assigned the story of writing about the hot vacation spot.Wild Ride resorts is not on her list of places she would ever want to go but this is a plum assignment and is willing to give it her best shot.Oliver Maxwell's resort is becoming a must visit vacation destination, he would really like it to get an excellent write up in a travel magazine to help it grow.Max and Andi's first meeting is off the charts in sexual chemistry. They both agree to put their relationship on a more professional level but their bodies have other ideas.

Hold On Tight is Krista Ross's story.Krista is Max's right hand woman, she is in charge of entertainment and the like. She has agreed to pose as country superstar Travis Mackey's girlfriend to give him a rest from all the groupies.Krista hadn't planned on her own deeply buried country roots calling her to spend all her time in Travis's arms.Travis a former bull-riding champion had turned to singing to make a living but something is missing from his life.He thinks he has found it at the Wild Ride Resort. Krista and Travis on the surface seem so different but their attraction and caring bring them together.

Worth The Wait have Cole Forrester and Jenna Wagner agreeing to spend a platonic vacation together at the resort.Tricky since both have the hots for each other. Neither thinks the other returns the same feelings but once they act on them all bets are off. Cole and Jenna really burn up the pages. Their friendship over the years helps them to work through any misunderstanding they have outside of the bedroom.

Wild Ride is a smoking hot anthology. Each story adds a different and exciting twist to each couples passion. The resort adds an exciting and tantalizing element to each story.Looking forward to the next book by LuAnn McLane.

Product Description
One pleasant morning in the autumn, when Rollo was about five years old, he was sitting on the platform, behind his father's house, playing. He had a hammer and nails, and some small pieces of board. He was trying to make a box. He hammered and hammered, and presently he dropped his work down and said, fretfully,

"O dear me!"

"What is the matter, Rollo?" said Jonas,--for it happened that Jonas was going by just then, with a wheelbarrow.

"I wish these little boards would not split so. I cannot make my box."

"You drive the nails wrong; you put the wedge sides _with_ the grain."

"The wedge sides!" said Rollo; "what are the wedge sides,--and the grain? I do not know what you mean."

But Jonas went on, trundling his wheelbarrow; though he looked round and told Rollo that he could not stop to explain it to him then.

Rollo was discouraged about his box. He thought he would look and see what Jonas was going to do. Jonas trundled the wheelbarrow along, until he came opposite the barn-door, and there he put it down. He went into the barn, and presently came out with an axe. Then he took the sides of the wheelbarrow off, and placed them up against the barn. Then he laid the axe down across the wheelbarrow, and went into the barn again. Pretty soon he brought out an iron crowbar, and laid that down also in the wheelbarrow, with the axe.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great free puzzle book
If I were a math teacher or had kids, this book would be worth good money despite its age. There's a collection of a few hundred math problems, involving money, time, families and other situations. They're good brain teasers.

The book doesn't have the greatest formatting for the Kindle. There are a few errors and it lacks a table of contents and proper markup, but it still works well. The only "downside" I have is that some of the math puzzles are a bit difficult when older British money was used, when the problem is compounded by the fact that you had to use shillings and pence were used, and you mention that you have a half crown and threepence in order to buy something. It's a little confusing but there's a table of conversions in the beginning.

3-0 out of 5 stars Some Kindle deficiencies
I have this paper book, but wanted a copy for my Kindle DX. There are a few versions for the Kindle, but I shelled out a few bucks for the one that said it was optimized for larger readers.

Although it reads well, and there are illustrations, the Table of Contents doesn't work. I mean, it is there (you can see it), but it is non-functional. A bit diappointing, since I'll have to tag the locations for the chapters myself.

I think Amazon should have a bullet list when selling electronic books that tell you things like this.

I'll keep the book anyway, but there was no reason that whoever threw this up there didn't take the time to do it right.

5-0 out of 5 stars AMUSEMENTS INMATHEMATICS
I found this book simply sensational, once it has hundreds of interesting puzzles on math and logic. One learns a lot by reading it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Entertaining and Instructive Collection of Mathematical Puzzles A - Must Have for Puzzle Lovers

With 430 puzzles, problems, paradoxes, and brain teasers, this book is a mammoth puzzle collection, compared with most math teasers and puzzles book available. But what is important is not the quantity, but the quality and charm of the problems presented. Each problem is presented with a full length solutions that makes the book absolutely an instructive experience for the reader. In some cases the author even discussed on how others had attacked and failed the problems.

Additionally the book is fully illustrated with clever diagrams and sketches, which make the reading even more pleasant for everyone. You, your freinds and family will spend many hours trying the vast array of puzzles prented in this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the classics of Puzzledom

4-0 out of 5 stars A Fast Blast through Wonderful Arrow/Disney History
Ed Morgan and Karl Bacon, the genius entrepreneurs who helped bring Walt Disney's Disneyland to mechanical reality were directly interviewed in this detail-intense book.It journeys through the startup days of their company Arrow (now S&S Power/Arrow Dynamics), and their long relationship with WED.After reading it cover to cover in less than a week, I put it down wishing I could interview them both further myself. There are wonderful (albeit simple) schematics of ride system component patent applications, and some fabulous rare photos of Walt trying out the ride prototypes (such as Pirates of the Caribbean) himself.Unfortunately, because much of the interviews realistically had to be taken from a larger manuscript, some of the detail is incomplete or patchy. The wealth of information and memories these two men collected could have filled 500 pages and kept me interested.I would read this book again just to pick up more detail. It simply is a must-have for Imagineering buffs and anyone else who is awed at the lasting heritage and legacy that are the Magic Kingdoms.

4-0 out of 5 stars Early Disneyland ride construction
Are you interested in how the pioneers of amusement parks designed their rides? This book is about the development of ride vehicles and technology at a little company called Arrow. They may have been small but they made a huge impact on the ride and theme park industry. They invented the first steel tubular track coaster for example, and it is known as "The Matterhorn" at Disneyland.

Nice stories from the owners memories of how it was back in the day... They worked on nearly everything that had ride vehicles. Disney designed and built alot of stuff right at the Disney studio machine shop, but these guys built a lot of ride vehicles and tracks for Disney as well. Pirates of the Caribbean boat vehicle, flying saucers, small world boats, mine train cars, Autopia cars. They built stuff for other long-gone parks you rarely hear about anymore, like Freedomland.

There are tons of great photos in here, (including Walt testing some ride vehicles), but it is not a coffee table book by any means. Be forewarned that this book does not give enough credit to the great Bob Gurr, a Disney Imagineer at WED who did tons of basic engineering, design, and drafting for most of the great ride vehicles that Arrow built for Disney. They do have some nice stuff about him on page 81, just not enough. The book tends to omit other people as well.

The book seems unfinished, and leaves you wanting so much more. There is no index to look things up as a reference. The writing style kind of ambles around with no clear direction. BUT having said all this, it is still an interesting book if you are consumed with the subject of amusement ride design and construction, especially Disney's. If you have a Disney book library, this should be in it. I would not give up my copy, I just wish it were a little better.

5-0 out of 5 stars I WAS THERE
IT USED TO NOT BOTHER ME, BUT WITH MY AGEING AND REALIZING THE TRUTH OF MATTERS, I THINK IT'S SICK FOR ED MORGAN AND CARL BACON TO TAKE ALL THE CREDIT FOR ALL THESE REVOLUTIONAL CREATIONS. RIGHT, SOME HOW THEY HAD THE IDEA AND COULD FINANCE THE DEVELOPMENT OF THESE PROJECTS. BUT HOW ABOUT THE "UNSUNG HEROS"?
AFTER I PROVED MYSELF TO BE A COMPIDENT DESIGNER, CARL BACON CAME TO ME AND SAID THEY WANT TO TRY SOMETHING NEW: THE CORKSCREW. WANTED MY DESIGN EXPERTISE. ALSO THE SAME WITH THE DISNEY WORLD PARKING LOT TRAM AND THE SUSPENDED COASTER. WHERE IS MY NAME MENTIONED? ALSO TOM HUMPHRIES, JOHN FOLTS, GEORGE MONTILLIER, BOB THOMAS, DAVE OREILLY, ALSO MY SON: DAVID W. CHALMERS. WE ALL GAVE BLOOD, SWEAT, AND TEARS TO THE DIFFERENT PROJECTS. BUT RECEIVED NO THANKS. WE MADE THOSE GUYS RICH AND WHEN THE RIGHT TIME CAME, WE WERE "LET GO".

5-0 out of 5 stars The Story of the Inventors of Modern Theme Park Rides
This was a fantastic book, full of colorful stories, and lots of facts.I was already aware of Arrow Development, but had no idea that they were responsible for the invention of so many different types of ride systems. The book details, their entry into the business.Their eventual association with Disney and how it all started with the hand-built Mr. Toad cars, and continued from there. Water rides, such as It's a Small World and Pirates of the Caribbean, in addition to log rides. These were the guys who invented the corkscrew roller-coaster.They built rides for many other parks also, and it details those projects also.I was fascinated with everything that I read in this book, that I couldn't put it down until I had finished reading it.A must-have book for any theme park / roller coaster enthusiast.5 stars, as fas as I'm concerned!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Pointless coaster brochure
Being extremely interested in roller coasters and theme park attractions in general, yet also being terribly prone to motion sickness (yes, I know this sounds weird, and it is), I really looked forward to this book. Which, unfortunately, isn't a book at all, but a sort of slim and undersized prozine. And this is the first problem. Then we have extremely factless texts, which could only interest those who never had access to very basic information about roller coasters (like, yes they do have brakes, guys). And finally most photographs are straight out park brochures, thus very spectacular and very poorly reproduced.

Interesting only for cartoon chickens fans, as some of the cartoons introducing each chapter are actually damn funny.

4-0 out of 5 stars the Berenstain Bears, to funny
The book called By the Sea is funny. It was written by Stan and Jan Berenstain. This book is funny because it describes my family in a few ways. First they go on vacation every year, so do we. Next, Mother bear says clean up before having fun. My mother would say that. This book is funny because it seems like all mama and papa bear wanted to do is wait and have fun with their kids. I don't have a favorite character because everyone in the book is my favorite. There are so many books about the berenstain Bears so go out and read them because they are funny and caring.

5-0 out of 5 stars A fun family outing with the Bears
In "The Berenstain Bears by the Sea," co-authors Stan and Jan Berenstain take Mom, Dad, and the two cubs to a vacation by the seashore. The cartoony illustrations of the humanoid bears are visually delightful, and the easy-to-read text is great for younger readers.

Although this book is meant for an audience of young children, I must admit that, as an adult reader, I found it quite enjoyable. How can you resist lines like "May we? May we? / May we, please, / dip our tootsies / in the seas?"

This book portrays a family that genuinely enjoys spending time together. And it even teaches a lesson in the virtue of patience. This Bears romp is a great choice for the beginning reader. ... Read more
