Editorial Review Product Description From the New York Times bestselling author -and his dog- more woofs of wisdom
In his first book, John O-Hurley wrote of the many life lessons he-d learned from dogs-lessons that carried him from the New England woods of his childhood to his life today as an award-winning actor, composer, and writer amidst the bright lights of Hollywood. Now, in Before Your Dog Can Eat Your Homework, First You Have to Do It, John once again finds himself seeking the wisdom of a canine companion. After years of parenting pets, last December, he became a father to his first child, William. Along with the many new joys of being a dad, John faced a new set of challenges-and it was Scoshi, his wizened white Maltese and faithful confidant for nearly two decades, who, at every turn, pointed the way.
At once poignant, profound, and laugh-out-loud funny, this book is a one-of-a-kind celebration of the joys of parenting pets and children alike, and further testament to the enduring wisdom of man-s best friend. ... Read more Customer Reviews (15)
Life's Lessons
This book was very well written. The comparison between dogs and humans was quite enlightening.Should be recommended for high school students as they are going into the adult world.Laughter and humor help a person see what John is explaining to you.Well done!
Hilarious!
John O'Hurley stories about his relationships with his dogs are very funny! This book is an easy, light read, sure to elevate feelings.
Not what i thought it would be
I thought this book would be about a dog but its more about the authors life....kindof boring......was hoping its be better....cover art is good book bad
John O'Hurley before your dog.......
I thought this book was both funny and very insightful. After reading it, I bought several copies to give as gifts.Between his writing, and his music, his dancing, his acting and his charm, it should be illegal for one person to have so many talents. I highly recommend this book, and his other....it's okay to miss the bed.....
You can skip this one
This book seemed very forced to me...as if the publisher wanted it written, but the author hadn't really considered writing it.The concept of dogs teaching life lessons from his first book worked quite well.In this book, the trick doesn't work.Mr. O'Hurley's musings are purely a father's notes to his son.I was ready to love this book as much as the first, but I was destined to be disappointed.
