3-0 out of 5 stars butterfly handbook reads more like a textbook
This was one of the books I purchased when looking for "the" butterfly guide. It is fairly comprehensive, for all that it's quite small, covering everything from lepidopteran biology to gardening for butterflies, but what's really lacking is the pictures. There is only one small glossy insert of pictures, and it only shows some adult butterflies and moths - no eggs, no larvae, no pupae.I much prefer The Family Butterfly Book by Rick Mikula. ... Product Description
No parent would knowingly feed their children poison.Sadly, that’s exactly what is happening every day.Even the most caring and conscientious parent can’t fight what they don’t see.

And yet, that’s what happens each time you place a meal on your table. The vegetables appear attractive, colorful and may even taste okay. However, it’s what is inside that is harmful.

Yes, we live in a wonderful age.Life has grown much easier for us with supermarkets, microwave ovens and instant foods. However, all of this “convenience” carries a pretty hefty price.Think about it for just a moment and see if you can add to these:
-Soil additives to increase yield per acre
-Hybrid seeds that produce more visually appealing vegetables
-Insecticides that chase away pests

And, think about it for just a moment – these are vegetables and fruits that are grown in the U.S. with the benefit of government oversight. What about all the imported produce?

The FDA will tell you that imported produce is regulated. If that’s the case, why were we afraid to eat tomatoes and chili peppers in the spring and summer of 2008 because of contamination?

We love getting things like berries, melons, fresh corn and cucumbers when there’s three feet of snow on the ground.A hundred years ago such a thing was unheard of.Again, what’s the price?

To live a healthier life, grow your own and do it organically! It’s not as difficult as you might think. The only way that you can guarantee that your family is protected from environmental pollutants in their fruits and vegetables is to grow them yourself.

But, not just any method will do.To be truly safe, organic gardening is the answer and we have the roadmap for you to follow.“Gardening Organically” is written with you in mind.No matter what your level of expertise, this handbook is just what you need to get started right away.

“Gardening Organically” not only teaches you what you need to know about growing those delicious vegetables for your family but you will also learn about organic gardening just for the pleasure of beauty.

Learn how to begin and maintain your own organic compost. Many people think that their compost is automatically organic. That’s not quite true.Get the facts in our chapter dedicated to this topic.

Discover how to get that all-important organic soil. You can’t just toss in some manure and assume that’s all there is to it.Once you’ve prepared it for the first time, from then on maintenance is much simpler than the initial startup.

You can be more in control of the food you eat, live a healthier life, and SAVE a lot of money...all by trying organic gardening!

Product Description
The beauty of a butterfly is not enjoyed or appreciated as much as it should be. These gorgeous fluttering creatures flit about without a care in the world, and all they want to find is a good place to eat, rest, and relax. Not unlike us humans!

No matter what kind of gardening experience you have, you can attract butterflies to your garden and enjoy the gorgeous simplicity of Mother Nature’s gift to us.

Human beings are constantly in pursuit of beauty and truth. There is little as beautiful as a butterfly alighting onto a flowerand nothing as truthful as its amazing simplicity.

Cultivating a butterfly garden will enhance your spirituality andimprove your outlook on life! When you’re watching one of God’s creatures as delicate as the butterfly, you’ll gain new enlightenment and joy as you stare in awe at their abilities.

Butterflies require little to survive. They need food, shelter, and water. When you provide these necessities to them, they will come to your garden and stay!

Why should you attract butterflies to your garden? The reasons are multiple and varied. Butterflies provide a perfect way to pollinate others plants. They naturally eat other predators that might threaten the plants in your garden. Most of all, however, they are fascinating creatures that can provide hours of peaceful entertainment and serenity in a sometimes crazy world!
