Often, it's not due only to the color choices, but how they were "orchestrated." With colored pencils, we mix and adjust color as we work rather than premix, an approach that sets us apart in the painting world. To recognize how the application of color plays a vital role in our work, we must first understand the four basic keys to unlocking the secret of color. Increased awareness of intensity, value, gradation, and temperature and how these can be manipulated to enhance our work help us avoid a lackluster finish." Workshop Synopsis: This is the first workshop designed specifically to enrich your color development in our medium. You will work through four intricate exercises and be encouraged to bring your own "color personality" to each task. These exercises will include an in-depth inspection of how scumbling, grisaille, dry wash, and glazing can enhance your color creativity. A group discussion noting all the nuances and development will follow each exercise. This class is designed for all levels; whether you desire color knowledge or time to freely experiment, this unique workshop should not be missed!
