disappointed also
I too, ordered this book, swayed by the words "guaranteed." I find it very general, without any practice questions. I would not have bought it had I known how little there was to it.

Morrison Media LLC has published this very short book (138 pages) claiming it to be the 'secrets' to the CSET Multiple Subjects Exam.I just bought this book with hopes that it would have some actual material to study through.It is more a list of good study habits and how to handle test anxiety.There are a few chapters with some definitions of words from each subject area on the test, but that's about it.I was highly disappointed and felt that I was overcharged for what I actually got in the end.I wanted meat but I got parsley. ... excellent book
this is an excellent book it goes step by step with you and it goes over almost every thing in the CSET.

CSET Kaplan
This is a pretty good book for a general overview of all subjects.I took the single subject test, all three subtests for social science and this book is the next best thing for any subjects in a general sense.I had wanted a more studyguide aimed towards that specific subject, but other than the cliffnotes sold online, there weren't any.The book touched a lot on the social science subject that were give on the test and it felt like a compacted history book. Material is easy to understand and digest in the fact that events were linked together.Since this is only a studyguide, I'd suggest studying in depth for areas you don't understand. The book offers websites where you can find in depth information on a specific topic.

Great Help - Very Thorough
I just finished taking the CSETS this morning and I have to say this book was a lifesaver. It's very very thorough on the information. The only weird things I noticed are several typos, no big deal though. Definitely worth the purchase!

The book is good
The book has 3 sections. Each section has review and practice test. Overall the book is a good place to start review for the test.

Unprofessional errors make me feel less confident in what I'm learning
At first I absolutely loved this book.It gave just the amount of depth and breadth to subjects - it was a great refresher for the things I've forgotten, and provided an easy tool to tell me what I needed to do some extra studying on.

There were minor typos and grammatical errors throughout, but they didn't really throw me off until I got to Part 2, subtest 1: science.Then in one sentence my confidence in this book fell apart.When the human eye focuses on something close up, it tightens the muscles to bend the lens for more focusing power.This book said it slackens the muscles.Very small error, but considering that I don't have detailed knowledge about all of the subjects this book covers, it made me wonder what other errors I'm overlooking and accepting as true.

The "detailed answers" are mostly very helpful, but one a few occasions I really wanted an explanation for my error and it either restated the answer choice, listed the wrong answer as the correct one or didn't give much to go on.

It's an interesting, easy read, and I love the practice tests after each section, but I am nervous using this to prepare me for a test for my future career!Considering the obvious lack of editing, the somewhat helpful answer keys and that one glaring error I don't know that I would buy another Kaplan test prep book in the future. ... RICA
I havent used it yet but im sure it will help me a lot & I received it really quickly.

very useful!
I passed the RICA, thanks to this study guide. Even with the RICA changing its format and emphasis, most of the information needed to take the test was in here. Zarrillo's book is a very useful supplement (I would recommend purchasing both books if you have the time and money), but I found the practice tests and explanations in Cliff Notes the best prep for the test.

Poor Quality
The difficulty level is significantly less than the actual exam and there were a lot of mistakes. Two qualities which render the book pretty useless. I also checked out the REA one and it's much better.

Barely helpful at all
The only reason to even consider buying this book is if you are already very well prepared for the test and want a few decent practice tests.However even the practice tests are easy compared to the real thing.If you can get it for less than $5, it won't hurt you.But be warned you will fail if this book is all you use.

Don't bother
After reading many terrible reviews of this book - I bought it anyway since there was little else available.It is as terrible as the reviewers said. On the other hand, it is better than nothing.However, this book WILL NOT prepare you for the test.The REA book is much better, although it alone will not prepare you either.

Little relationship to the test
The sample tests in this book bear little relationship to actual CSET Math I and II subtests, which isn't surprising, considering that anyone who takes the CSET signs a legal agreement not to disclose test content. But a total mismatch is unforgivable, because topics listed in the official test descriptions and covered in the official sample question sets -- downloadable for free from the CSET Web site -- are missing from the book. In fact, the official test descriptions are reproduced at the beginning of the book; the authors simply ignored the information!

To make matters worse, the book contains numerous typographical errors. A good student will recognize the errors, but the process of second-guessing the answers wastes time, a precious resource in the days leading up to a CSET administration.

Leave this book on the shelf, download the official test descriptions and sample question sets from the CSET Web site, and succeed!

Not helpful, confusing typos
This review book was not very good. It did not contain a lot of key information on how to do certain problems, instead assuming that you already knew how to do them. In my opinion a review book should actually go over some of the material as opposed to just listing the topics you should know without any supporting information. If I just wanted a list of the topics, I could have just gone to the CSET website. Additionally there were a lot of typos in both the questions and in the answers, and often times they would say a wrong answer was correct. This made things very confusing. CSET Test Prep - Cliff Notes
I PASSED all three CSET Multiple Subjects tests using this book on my first try!!!!!
I bought this book about 3 weeks before the test.I had taken out the Barron's and Kaplan CSET books from the library, but found them to be too lengthy.I knew I could not memorize 120 pages of Science text.But, they were good for taking the practice tests, so I would recommend them but the Cliff Note's book worked best for me.The part I especially liked is that they give you some samples questions in each subject area along with the content.But, they explain the answer right there, so you don't have to search in the back of the book for the answer and the reasoning.I found that to be extremely helpful because I was able to read a question, answer it and have the answer and the explanation immediately explained.Then I went on to read the subject in more depth and then took the traditional practice tests at the end of the book.The content was easy to read and understand, unlike some of the other books, and it was organized in a way that worked for me.It did not present an overwhelming amount of information.It was concise and thorough and I used it as my main study guide.I did not feel that confident when I took the test and wished I had studied longer than 3 weeks, about 2 hours a day, but I passed all three on the first try, so I'm very happy with this book.

The book was in perfect condition.It just took longer than I expected to arrive. I had to buy a copy from the store to study from, then was able to return it once this book arrived.

Good Review before CSET Exam
I purchased the CSET Multiple Subjects book about two months before my exam. It was very helpful. I passed all three subtests with this book! I used itand the practice questions provided on the cset website to study. I would recommend this book to brush up on all subjects.

I don't see many downsides to this book. It is VERY thorough and I felt over prepared for the exam (better to be over than under prepared). I recommend making flash cards to help study the material from the book. It is divided into the sections tested in the subtests. The book is 500+ pages, but it is easy to skim to get the most out of the material. Don't be intimidated by the size. It even includes practice tests at the end.

A good resource
I bought this study guide just a few days before taking the CSET.It was easily the best study guide I used, and the sample questions prepared me for the questions on my test.Previously, I had checked out REA's and Barron's from my local library.They didn't really help me at all.Just my opinion.

Of course, no study guide is perfect and it's good to review as many sources as possible, but if you only buy one book, I recommend this one.It's concise, and covers each subject in appropriate detail.

Edit:Today I just found out I passed all three subtests on my first try and I don't think I would have without this.I've read complaints about the first one, maybe this 2nd edition corrected those problems. ... Read more
