5-0 out of 5 stars Organic
Organic Chemistry Study Guide: Organic compounds, formulas, isomers, Nomenclature, Reactions kinetics and mechanisms, Spectroscopy & more. FREE Chemical ... Table chapters in demo (Mobi Study Guides)

Over the years, I have seen a great many Organic Chemistry study guides and none were as thorough and easy to understand as Mobi's. It isn't too introductory or too complex so it teaches you all that you need and also will serve as a reference later on. It has appropriate graphics. The text is clear, on the point, and very understandable. Overall, I would definitely recommend this ebook. It is much better than any other Organic Chemistry ebooks I've ever read. Any criticisms I have of this text are very minor, and it makes the subject both interesting and genuinely enjoyable.

1-0 out of 5 stars Less explanation
I bought this book hoping to find a detail explanation for every questions asked in the book. However, it does not. Almost all the answers are given directly without explanation. Even there is an explanation, it would be short and not helpful at all! We have to look back at the notes to find the reason for every answer! The book itself is a SOLUTION MANUAL and STUDY GUIDE! It should give the solution for every answer. Not just the answer. And it should GUIDE people to understand the answer given! Not just give the answer directly.

I do not recommend this book for those who seek detail explanation. It not worth the money. 100 bucks for just answers without detail explanation? Totally wasted!

5-0 out of 5 stars organic chemistry study guide and solutions manual
This is a must have for organic chemistry, it is extremely helpful in my understanding of the material.

4-0 out of 5 stars Thanks
The book got here about a week before I expected it. Had a very neat waterproof present like wrap over it. Thanks a bunch bud.

1-0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PERSON
JessicaC. Does not reply to requests for information on delivery dates and does not ship products on time. I was supposed to get my product by August 19, it is now August 22, 2010 and I still have not received it. I have to wait until October 27 to file a claim with amazon. I needed the book for school which starts in September. Never buy from this person she will never reply to you emails and will not send you the product you purchased. Avoid her like the plague.

5-0 out of 5 stars this is a true "solutions manual"
the solutions manual is as thick as the text, and that sucks to carry around, but is so very nice to have access to full worked answers for every question posed throughout the chapters, as well as carefully crafted explanations for said answers.
This is expensive but you get what you pay for.and that's a whole lot of organic chemistry. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Required book from a decent seller
This book was required for my Chemistry class, and although I really don't have any positive or negative comments about it (it's a textbook, what can I say?), the seller was good, although other books ordered on the same day arrived a week earlier. I received this book within the time allotted, and it was in the condition described. Good to do business with, but don't expect "quick" delivery. Overall, I would recommend this book to others.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent condition...Speedy Delivery
This book was in Excellent condition to be categorized as a used item.I ordered this book with standard delivery and it came a week before I expected it to arrive.Great Job!!

5-0 out of 5 stars excellent service!!!
All info that was posted for this item was right on.When I received my book it was in better condition than was posted.Excellent price! Received my book sooner than expected.Would highly recommend doing service with this business person(s) again.

5-0 out of 5 stars colorfully pleasing
So colorful! Plentiful examples of practical applications, luxuriouspristine diagrams and the wildly formatted pages brings the reader back tothe middle school textbook yrs. The writing isn't very involved or through,so this would be best for a HS intro chem text, but probably too simplisticfor college students. Examples and problems given are in following with thetext and provide no stunningly difficult challenges, but rather just theright amount and level of practice. Just a fun, youthful, simple chem text.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great introductory text but needs flow chart corrections.
The textbook is a wonderfully written and easy to understand. However, I take exception to the egregious misuse of flow charts. The error occurs in Chapter 5, figure 5.1. If the textbook were not a science book one couldunderstand the lack of formality. However, it is a science textbookdirected toward beginning students, as stated in the preface. I believetherefore, it would represent a huge improvement to the efficacy of thebook if the flow charts reflected formal Boolean logic. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A real grade-saver
I bought this study guide for my daughter who is taking high school AP Chemistry using the associated text book. She was having difficulties understanding both the teacher and the text book, and had failed a test. When she received the study guide, she spent about a week going through the exercises and explanations for the first 7 chapters of the text book, and improved her understanding so much that she scored a "B" on the next test. Since then she has consistently scored "A"s on all subsequent tests by reviewing the concepts in the study guide and working the examples before doing her assigned homework, then working the quizzes in the study guide the night before her tests. The study guide is well-written, in many cases it defines concepts better than the text book, and presents the material with workable problems so that students learn the concepts in a more hands-on manner. It is worth every penny of the price. ... Read more

Product Description
100% Pure Chemical Understanding

Every morning many of us are energized by a cup of coffee. Imagine if you were as energized by understanding the chemistry in your morning cup--from the coffee trees, which fill red coffee berries with caffeine and a variety of other chemical substances, to the feathery crystals formed by the caffeine molecules, to the decaffeinating machines, which use liquid solvents to remove this stimulant from some of the beans. Now, that's real chemical understanding!

Olmsted and Williams' Fourth Edition of Chemistry focuses on helping you see and think about the world (and even your coffee) as a chemist. This text helps you understand how chemical phenomena are governed by what happens at the molecular level, apply critical thinking skills to chemical concepts and problems, and master the basic mathematical techniques needed for quantitative reasoning. You'll see the world as chemists do, and learn to appreciate the chemical processes all around us.

A Fourth Edition with a lot of new perks!
* Revisions include a new, early energy chapter; revised coverage of bonding; expanded coverage of intermolecular forces; and increased coverage of multiple equilibria, including polyprotic acids.
* New pedagogy strengthens students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
* Visual Summaries at the end of each chapter use molecular and diagrammatic visual elements to summarize essential skills, concepts, equations, and terms.
* eGrade Plus provides an integrated suite of teaching and learning resources, including a complete online version of the text, links between problems and relevant sections in the online text, practice quizzes, the Visual Tutor, Interactive LearningWare problems, and lab demos, as well as homework management and presentation features for instructors. ... Product Description
The Ninth Edition of Organic Chemistry continues Solomons-Fryhle's tradition of excellence in teaching and preparing students for success in the organic classroom and beyond.

Students are often overwhelmed by the early rigors of organic chemistry. Solomons-Fryhle prepares students for these early rigors by introducing acids & bases--topics they know from general chemistry--early, followed by chapters on structure and stereochemistry. Next, a discussion of ionic reactions gives students a foundation for the vast majority of reactions that they will encounter. The Ninth Edition continues to introduce IR spectroscopy in chapter 2 (after functional groups) and Carbon-13 NMR spectroscopy in chapter 4, providing synergy with most lab courses and, again, reinforcing learning.

The new edition of Solomons-Fryhle also has a completely revised WileyPLUS course to help students and instructors reach their full potential. WileyPLUS provides instructors with the most robust online homework solution in organic chemistry. This revision of WileyPLUS meets students where and when they learn and provides them with a learning platform that offers real learning solutions that complement their approach to managing and mastering organic concepts. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT TOOL
This book is great to have while reading the text book for studying. There are small study check questions as you read through the chapters, and you can check your knowledge right away with this study guide. This allows you to instantly know if there is something you don't understand before you continue reading.

1-0 out of 5 stars WTF?
I ordered a book, cause the picture shows a book, but in very tiny print it says its just a CD. Why pay that much for just a CD. My fault for not reading i guess. Buy the actual book guys.

5-0 out of 5 stars Necessary to go with text book
This book includes all of the solutions in depth. It is necessary to buy it if you want to learn organic chemistry from the Solomons 9e textbook.

5-0 out of 5 stars Could something be TOO Helpful?
This solutions manuel is a great studying tool. I recommend buying it just to check the work that you've done.

3-0 out of 5 stars Essential in a manipulative way...
This is the study guide companion to the text (which I am finding quite good). It is essential to work the book to develop the foundation of concepts necessary for this course. However, many chemistry texts offer solutions for at least even or odd numbered problems in the back of the textbook, then offer a reasonably priced study guide that works the problemsmore fully. The Solomons et al text gives absolutely no answers so you are forced to buy this study guide - which is extremely pricey - in order to really get any value out of the text. I actually need to learn this subject and even on Amazon the duo cost me $200. At this price, I would have liked more thoroughness on some of the worked solutions. Some you get, some you don't. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars pleasant surprise

The book is in excellent condition. Thanks for your prompt and superior service!

1-0 out of 5 stars VERY poor service
I purchased this book from Knaptown booksellers. The original ad stated that this text was in "excellent condition and included an interactive CD."The book arrived 13 days after ordering in less than fair condition and without a CD.After three attempts to contact the seller, and no response, I just chalked it up to shady retail practices. If you have a choice of retailers, STAY AWAY from Knaptown book sellers.I was THOROUGHLY DISSATISFIED!

Product Description
The image on the front cover depicts a carbon nanotube emerging from a glowing plasma of hydrogen and carbon, as it forms around particles of a metal catalyst. Carbon nanotubes are a recently discovered allotrope of carbon. Three other allotropes of carbon-buckyballs, graphite, and diamond-are illustrated at the left, as is the molecule methane, CH4, from which nanotubes and buckyballs can be made. The element carbon forms an amazing number of compounds with structures that follow from simple methane, found in natural gas, to the complex macromolecules that serve as the basis of life on our planet.
