Product Description
Dr. Ian Smith's diets really work. America has lost millions of pounds following his Fat Smash and Extreme Fat Smash diets. Now, in "The 4 Day Diet", Smith has developed a program that allows readers to avoid the normal (and fatal) pitfalls of dieting: boredom, no treats allowed, too much repetition, plateauing. The 4 Day Diet is an ingenious program of dieting modules lasting only four days each: Induction (detox/cleansing); Transition (to reintroduce all food groups); Protein Stretch (to avoid plateaus); Smooth (when you can have some formerly forbidden foods like pizza and French fries); Push (the sprint just before the final stretch, back to a stricter eating plan); Pace (a comfortable module for you to catch your breath); and, Vigorous (the final module to lose those last few pounds). You can follow The 4 Day Diet straight through for a month for stunning results. But Smith also designed The 4 Day Diet so you can customize your own program. After the first two modules, you can do the remaining 5 in whichever order suits your schedule or preferences or you can repeat the modules you like best.It also features over sixty delicious recipes for breakfasts, lunches and dinners and a complete snack list - food that will make you forget you're on a diet. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars pleasantly pleased
I started this diet when i picked up the book because it was on sale at barnes and noble. I had heard alot about it on Steve Harvey morning show. This was the first diet i have ever done.Started in August did the whole 28 days lost 21 pounds.I am still losing, enjoyed the whole book. Thanks for the push.

4-0 out of 5 stars Book - yes. Kindle version of book - DON'T DO IT!
Makes sense.I'm not a coffee or tea drinker though. So, only being allowed one diet soda per day in some phases is difficult (zero in other phases).Guess I'll have to learn to love water.I do miss the caffeine. If you don't have a local farmer's market, the fresh produce could be a little pricey.I do NOT recommend the Kindle version...unless you like to read with a magnifying glass!MULTIPLE charts/lists must have been scanned into this version, and there is no way to increase the size to be able to (better) read them. Wish I would have spent the money on a hard copy.I've learned my lesson. At least look at the sample download before buying if you can't get to a bookstore to look at the book first!

2-0 out of 5 stars Lost weight fast but
The diet is so very restrictive and BORING.I gave up after the second module and I never want to look at beans and rice again. It is fine that they load you up on fresh fruits and veggies all day but the lack of protein, especially in the beginning, bothers me.I know beans and rice make up a protein but it is so dreadfully boring.I need to at least feel like I'm eating something savory.I couldn't stick with this diet due to it's restrictive and repetitive nature.

2-0 out of 5 stars Booooring.....
Hi,

Sorry for this short review but i really think i have not that much to say about this product. I mean, how can you diet with this if it's so boring to hear?

I can't tell you how effective it is if you actually gear it. I just can tell you i couldn't hear more than a single CD and i tried hard!

As a sleeping aid it works! maybe because you don't eat while sleeping is this a good system?

Regards,

JP

5-0 out of 5 stars I am convinced!
Well, I am a skeptic when it comes to dieting etc. I thought all I had to do was workout and not worry about what I put into my body. This was o.k. before I had to take medication for a while. However, after being on meds, it was hard to take the weight back off. I would go from 196 to 200 depending on my workout, but I could never get below that number. Upon returning from a Miami getaway with hubby, I received a copy of the book. In 26 days, I have lost 13 lbs. This is phenomenal. I plan to keep going. I am going to repeat some of the other modules. The recipes are easy to follow. I have never had sea bass in all of my life. I bought some and tried the recipe and it is so delicious. I am a pescetarian so this was right up my alley-steamed fish. The first 4 days are tuff, but once you get past them it's not bad. I have cheated some, but I am still loosing weight. I do not think that this is a gimmick. This could be someone like myself who has had enough of the diet drama and is happy to share her good fortune with whomever will listen. ... Read more

My friend recommended this book highly and she recommended a great new beverage that replaced my morning cup of joe.Caffeine made me too jittery so I switched to a soy-based coffee that taste simply amazing. When I use my percolator it comes out with a rich, full bodied taste. Search under "S oyfee" on google to find it.

Product Description
A revolutionary new low-carb diet for diabetics by the doctor who pioneered a successful new approach to the disease--with 100 original mouth watering recipes. For diabetics, diet is more than a lifestyle choice--it*s the key to controlling the course of their disease. Many diabetics struggle their entire lives to maintain a healthy weight, but the guidelines given to them by the American Diabetes Association have proven unhelpful in regulating blood sugar--the critical component in keeping diabetes in check. In THE DIABETES DIET, Dr. Bernstein serves up the groundbreaking low-carbohydrate approach to diabetes care that has enabled his patients to take control of their disease by regulating their blood sugar without the usual swings. Dr. Bernstein himself is living proof of the success of this method, and he has the science to back it up. Plunging into the current debate on low-fat vs. low-carb diets, he shows that, especially for diabetics, low-carb is what will change lives--and he offers 100 delicious all-new recipes to help keep diabetics on track for life. The recipes and advice in THE DIABETES DIET will provide readers with an easy-to-follow guide for controlling their disease and regaining their health and well-being.* There are an estimated 18 million diabetics in America, and their number is increasing every year--yet there are no low-carb diet books appropriate for diabetics.* Since publication in 1997, Dr. Bernstein*s Diabetes Solution and its revised 2003 edition have sold more than 120,000 copies.* An engineer by training, Bernstein pioneered blood glucose self-monitoring and the tight control of blood sugar that is now accepted as the standard treatment of diabetes. He entered medical school at the age of 45 in order to publish his findings. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars The Diabetic Diet Book
I purchase the book in hopes of finding information on how to treat my own diabetes. I found the information in the book to be old and out of date. The diet itself will be almost impossible to stick to as it cuts out most foods except for a small list which is in the book. The author recommends purchasing Da Vinci syrups and claims it will have no effect on blood sugar. I did purchase the syrup and it spiked my blood sugar almost immediately. Look up the author on the internet and you will find little support for his approach. I would recommend you look elsewhere for ways to treat your diabetes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great to lose weight!
My doctor recommended this book after I noticed he had lost a lot of weight (he is pre-diabetic and checks his own blood glucose). I am overweight rather than diabetic and definitely was using foods high in carbs to make myself feel better. I have only been using Dr. Bernstein's guidelines for a short time, but already my clothes are getting much looser. It's been very hard cutting out the breads and cereals I love but I am actually feeling better enough to make it worth it. My doctor had been recommending eating fewer carbs for a long time. Highly recommend for anyone.

1-0 out of 5 stars I cant believe I bought that book
it's sounds great when you read the sample but then when you get to what can you and what cant you eat part( and you must buy the book first , to get there)
I'm just speechless, how can I tell my 10 year old son you cant eat pasta , bread
nuts fruits and on and on and on , good for you who can actually stick to this torture I know I could not and I now that I will not make my Sons live misarable with it

5-0 out of 5 stars An excellent and informative book
For those of us with diabetes a really useful book, full of information about this disease and suggestions for what to eat and ESPECIALLY what not to eat.

2-0 out of 5 stars Bad format translation ruins recipes
This book is essentially two parts. The first part is about carbohydrates and diabetes, and I found it valuable. The second part is recipes, which I found largely useless, because of ingredients lists that contain measurements and amounts like "H cups" or "H teaspoon." I'm guessing that these "H"s and similar puzzlements are actual amounts in the book's printed version, like perhaps 1/2 or 1/3, but who knows? In any case, the original text did not make it into the ebook. The publisher obviously didn't bother to proof the ebook, but charges a hefty price for it anyway. I wish the recipes were as useful as the money I spent to buy it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars LOVE this book... a must-have for serious dancers!
This book provides useful, real information on how to lose or maintain weight for dancers, and various strategies to use in any diet. The authors mainly focus on the American Diabetic Exchange program, which, it turns out, it a great way to keep track of what you're eating, and they also provide the optimum number of each type of exchange for many different calorie intakes. Overall, this book is great. No complaints, except if they could make a more updated version (the back has frozen meals and their exchange values, and some companies don't exist anymore, so updating that type of info would be very helpful) that would be amazing!

4-0 out of 5 stars informative and easy to read
I bought this for my 13 year old dancer. She loved it! It had lots of easy to understand information including weight charts. We couldn't find realistic weight guidelines and this book had different ones for teens and if you were a professional dancer. Also it talked good eating habits. It was a great buy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Extremely useful book for older non-dancers too.
I refer to this book frequently. It's concise and informative; the authors are sensitive to body issues and eating disorders. It's the only book I've found that has provided a comprehensive guide to determining fat percentages, how to burn fat, what to reasonably expect, and a diet guide and explanation of the Exchange System (from the American Diabetic Association).

I've had the greatest -fat- loss success using this book as a guide. My main tip: at the very least, you better get used to exercising, at a moderate pace (defined elsewhere as 100 steps/minute), 4 to 5 times a week, for 40 - 60 minutes. While the right foods are critical, only when I exercise can I maintain my motivation to change my food preferences.

A previous poster who wrote this book encourages eating disorders - I don't think they read the book fully. There's a chapter that reviews the basic psychological conditions behind eating disorders and suggests healthful strategies to combat them. It's useful for anyone struggling with food in some way.

4-0 out of 5 stars Diet for Dancers: A Complete Guide to Nutrition and Weight Control
This book is well worth the price. All dancers will find it very useful..It is a must have.

2-0 out of 5 stars For adults, with CAUTION
Written during the Balanchine era, this book works in a way that can actually encourage an eating disorder or create more motivation for someone who already has one. This comes from someone with an eating disorder. While this book does have interesting information and even a couple pages to identity eating disorders, it's important to keep in mind the time this book was written during a different era in ballet and that the biological information is out of date.I verified that with a medical professional.

The average heights, weights, etc., were also taken from quite a while ago, as far as ballet goes.Different ideals are in place now that then.To strive to be the ideal dancer in this book would be to strive to being too thin by modern ballet standards, which is still pretty damned thin.

An updated edition written in a different way would be a better alternative.Otherwise, this book should only be put into the hands of healthy adults without tendency toward eating disorders. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Motivating, but nothing we didn't already know
This book is motivating for any bride-to-be as it provides practical tips and realistic goals for weightloss. However, don't be fooled by the title...it does not provide an actual diet.Basically the book justinspires you to eat anything with moderation and to exercise. That issomething experts have been recommending for decades. In essence, nothingnew is established. You're better off buying a bride magazine.

5-0 out of 5 stars How to make yours a more-perfect union
Authors Robyn Flipse and Jacqueline Shannon have written a book that's loaded with great information for brides-to-be and others interesting in shedding some pounds on a deadline in a sensible way. I bought "The Wedding Dress Diet" for a bride-to-be who wanted to lose "exctly18 pounds to get down to my fighting weight of 112." She read thebook, loved it, and reported yesterday she was right on schedule to attainher goal. Now, here's the surprise: before giving my friend her gift, Iread it myself. I started flipping some pages in the bookstore to get asampling, and soon got hooked. When I got home, I read the whole darnthing. It's brilliantly organized, very well written and liberallysprinkled with humor. Product Description
Food is our most intimate and telling connection both with the living natural order and with our living cultural heritage. By eating the plants and animals of our earth, we literally incorporate them. It is also through this act of eating that we partake of our culture’s values and paradigms at the most primal levels. It is becoming increasingly obvious, however, that the choices we make about our food are leading to environmental degradation, enormous human health problems, and unimaginable cruelty toward our fellow creatures.

Incorporating systems theory, teachings from mythology and religions, and the human sciences, The World Peace Diet presents the outlines of a more empowering understanding of our world, based on a comprehension of the far-reaching implications of our food choices and the worldview those choices reflect and mandate. The author offers a set of universal principles for all people of conscience, from any religious tradition, that they can follow to reconnect with what we are eating, what was required to get it on our plate, and what happens after it leaves our plates.

The World Peace Diet suggests how we as a species might move our consciousness forward so that we can be more free, more intelligent, more loving, and happier in the choices we make. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Thoughts on Dr. Tuttle's phenomenal book
I have had the honor of meeting Will Tuttle in person, and I'm very glad I did--he is "the real deal," deeply spiritual and deeply humanitarian. His book is THE best-you can't go wrong in reading it.In fact, it will show you the way to go right.I particularly concur with Delisa Renide's review; very well said indeed.GET THE BOOK, READ IT, and SHARE IT!

5-0 out of 5 stars World Peace Diet explains it all
Dr. Will Tuttle has connected the dots between living a consciously good life, while caring for our mother earth and her creatures with dignity and respect. It is impossible to live as happy beings while ingesting the painful, frightened and anguished energy of animals killed for food. And as we find out through his writing, this practice is completely needless and the food, spiritually devoid.

We have chosen to be animal free in the foods we eat for 20 years, after first reading John Robbins Diet for a New America and H & M Diamond's Fit for Life.We are so thankful for the changes those books brought into our lives and for the way we raised our five children. They benefited greatly from our food choices. And now people find it hard to believe my husband and I are the ages we truly are.We know it's because 90% of the time, we've only eaten foods that nourish, and not challenge.Challenging the body with junk or hard to digest foods, ages it.Meat challenges the body and offers only dead and decaying energy.

The thought of killing a beautiful creature for something needless seems senseless and cruel.

As mankind is beginning to understand, we need to think of our planet and the consequences of our actions, including how and what we eat.

The World Peace Diet is extremely well written, engaging and thought-provoking.

We are all connected through energy, spirit and love.
Thank you Will for writing such an important book.

5-0 out of 5 stars fantastic book
I read the World Peace diet and I have to say that it is the only book that I've ever read which details clearly the problems at the root of our society, namely selfishness, greed and violence. According to the author, Will Tuttle, these is a direct consequence of the greedy and violent manner in which we acquire our food and the resulting society that we live in. The link between the two, which may appear unclear to some readers, is outlined through the course of the book which relates many of our problems to the choice which we make when we sit down to dinner. The book is easily readable, well researched and offers a solution to the question of 'when will we live in a peaceful world?' Anyone who is earnestly seeking an honest answer to this question should read this book as it offers a solution to the problem which has puzzled humanity for millions of years.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must read
I just saw Will Tuttle speak tonight in Las Vegas. He is a brilliant man. His book really explains why our world is such a mess, and what we can do about it. As he said tonight, being a vegan goes so much deeper that dietary choices - it is making the decision to be loving and compassionate to all living beings- people and animals. Will is a non conformist in the most positive sense. May we all listen to his message, and follow in his footsteps. This book reveals the secret to true happiness.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book
This is a great book if you are thinking about becoming vegetarian or vegan. There are a couple of chapters that are a little intense and will probably make you feel lousy about how you have been living and eating up to this point, if you are not vegan by the time you finish reading I would be very surprised. It took a little longer to receive than I had initially anticipated so if you are thinking of getting this for someone as a gift order early. ... Read more

This book is a breezy, chatty, non-technical, fun-to-read explanation of low carbohydrate dieting why it works, the surprising health benefits, and most importantly, how to approach low carb dieting.

The book details three very different main approaches to controlling carbohydrates (including the Basic Low Carb Diet, similar to Atkins or Protien Power, and the Mini-Binge Diet, popularized as the Carbohydrate Addict?s Diet), plus several variations, finally summing up the basic principles which tie them all together.

The point is to give the reader the tools necessary to construct a new way of eating that will fit his or her body, psyche, and lifestyle, thus allowing them to stay slim, energetic, and healthy for life. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book!
This is an easy read, not boring at all.Full of "bottom line" information on many diets that claim low carb status.I had already read 'Protein Power' by doctors Eades, and she refers to it several times in her book. Her info was spot on, so I know she did her reading as well! It's a great go-to book for info on many books!

2-0 out of 5 stars Not the healthiest
I bought this book along with 2 others by Dana Carpenter as an aid in helping me lose weight thinking that these would be healthy recipes, i.e no processed foods included in the recipes.I was disappointed in this - she includes canned products as well as splenda.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great read, lots of information!
I read this book from front to back. It truly is a great read.Dana inserts her wonderful sense of humor alongside the invaluable and very educational information she provides in this book. She explains things in such a manner that many things I only vaguely understood before are now perfectly clear, or at least much clearer. The information found in this book has helped me to make sense of all I struggle with in my effort to lose weight and keep it off and to avoid the very real possibility of diabetes, which runs in my family. With the many options for low-carb dieting she provides in one book, I'm finding a new source of energy. I really appreciate the fact that she gave the description, facts, comparisons and advice for each option.I highly recommend this book.I'm spreading the word about it to all my friends who, like me, are struggling to get the pounds off -- again -- and to keep it off. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Every food writer should have a copy
This book bills itself as ' a world-wide
survey of the eating and drirking habits
of early peoples'. It's actually a bit
more restricted than that-more of a survey
of what is known archaeologically about
food and drink in pre-modern times.

The book has two great uses. First, for
the eternally curious food-lover, it's a
wonderful browse. The dryly humorous section
on the food value of insects, for example,
is enough of a delight to be worth reading
aloud. The first page of the section on
drinks has the droll observation "It is
sobering to consider that the neglected jar
of fruit juice. . . . .set man along the
road to alcoholism and the illicit still."
The section on cannibalism is perhaps worth
the price of the whole volume.

The second use of this book is as a reference
for the writer and student. Since things
are their history, there's scarcely any
treatment of food, drink or cooking that
would not benefit from at least a reference
to their origins. Organized by type of
foodstuff, this book may be all anyone needs
to know. For those who wish to go further,
there are useful notes and a generous bib-
liography.

By focussing on material culture and archae
ology, the book avoids the trickier
questions of ancient diet as a whole.
What did early man eat? Well, this book gives
some pieces of an answer, but certainly
not a comprehensive picture. As so often
the case with academic writing, it's good
to be familiar with the subjects at hand
so as to avoid being caught up in in
accuracies-honey, for example, does not
ferment in spite of the authors' suggestion.

An excellent source and a jolly diversion,
this is a valuable addition to the scholarly
cook's library.

Lynn Hoffman, author of The New Short Course in Wine and the forthcoming novel bang-BANG from Kunati Press.

3-0 out of 5 stars Primarily Archaeological.
I picked up this book thinking that it would be a nice survey-style introduction into the various foods and dishes of the ancient world--especially the Classical Mediterranean, given the mosaic on thecover. However, this reads far more like an archaeological treatiserecording processes of animal and plant domestication since the Neolithic. With a plethora of taxonomic and anatomical information that's of littleuse to the non-specialist, the book nevertheless manages to intrigue onoccasion, with some tidbits; especially fascinating are the chapters oninsects as food and on beverages. Most of the work focuses on theclassical and near-eastern civilizations, but occasional mention is made ofthe mesoamerican cultures as well.Worth reading, but by no means acomprehensive work on early diets. ... I give God the credit for leading me to this book,it has made a huge difference in my health. Although diet does not effect everyones arthritis it does effect mine. This book gave me the information I needed to test myself,( there are no reliable medical tests for it yet, according to the doctors I've checked with ). It covers all the different types of arthritis and I would recommend it to anyone who suffers from any form of arthritis. Not only has it saved me from taking some pretty harsh drugs but it has worked for me, unlike the medications I have tried so far. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent book
If you are interested in knowing a healthy way of losing weight, improving your life and all this by eating everything, this is the book for you. This is one of the best books explaining a diet routine based on age old Ayurveda. Usually I come across books written by authors who has good knowledge in Ayurveda but do not know how to express it well in English or vice versa. John Douillard has an excellent way of explaining the complicated yet great principles of Ayurveda in simple language.I had purchased 3 other Ayurveda books along with this book. This was the only one I could finish at one sitting. I am from India, land of Ayurveda but strangely, I developed an interest in the subject only after coming to this country. I am not (yet) interested (nor ready) in understanding all the underlying philosophies of Ayurveda but wanted to understand how to fine tune my diet based on Ayurvedic principles & my unique body constitution. And this book was perfect to give me just enough details. One thing I would say negative about this book is that - I wonder whether he went a bit too far in debunking other fad diets out there. I mean it isn't wrong, whatever he is saying is correct however I wonder whether he could've talked atleast generally without mentioning their names and such. Except this one teeny tiny disagreeable aspect, I LOVE this book a lot. I have changed my eating habits based on his suggestions. I still haven't managed to take 1-2 hr break for my lunch though, still on my to do list :-) I am also following his breathing technique suggestions & the morning exercise routines. I am already seeing an incredible change in my life. I am such a fan of the book and am recommending the book and his techniques to all my friends now.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite nutrition books
Sure, it about Ayurveda, but the advice is common sense, clear and global.I have heard Dr Douillard speak and his enthusiasm, knowledge and wit really come through in the pages of this book.

    A great read!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fabulous Content
I read this book a year ago after it was recommended at the yoga studio that I attend. It has some fabulous content. It's well explained but most of all, it works. I've been eating along these guidelines for the past year and I lost 10 lbs and have kept it off. Eating 3 meals a day and sipping hot water really does stabilize blood sugar. I was so suprised. It makes me feel great, have more energy and less anxiety. John Douillard has a lot of other content on his website too. He's constantly updating it with new stuff, YouTube videos and sending out e-newsletters. A lot of the ayurvedic nutrition tips he provides in this book and continues to provide online have helped me tremendously. I highly recommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing Health Tool.
As a nutrition advocate, I recommend this book for everyone young and old. Dr. Doulliard is gift. He gives those new to Ayurveda a comprehensible book. You can use this information immediately and change your health with the seasons!
    Enjoy.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Contribution to Culture
THE BONUS YEARS DIET: A CONTRIBUTION TO CULTURE
Ralph Felder's diet book is a lifetime labor of love.Felder, a practicing physician and scientist who holds M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from Stanford, and is the author of a book on magnetic resonance imaging, is exceedingly qualified to address the science of health. He handles the interaction between chemistry and health, and the aesthetics of cooking and eating, with an affection that will win your heart. There is enough science here to keep you informed, yet not so much as to lose the thread of health and its by-product, happiness. There are enough recipes to open four successful restaurants serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The meticulous attention given to flavor, variety, appearance, and budget (both of time and of money), make The Bonus Years a milestone in human culture.
The idea of Bonus Years is that people want to live longer, and stay healthy when they do; and that diet is the crucial component that can make that (statistically) possible. The book has an easy-to-read, open style that invites you in.Felder's information comes from controlled studies; and he includes a list of references for anyone interested in learning the chemistry and epidemiology at first-hand.The strategy is that certain medicines, aspirin, folic acid, statin, and blood-pressure medicines, which reduce the risk of heart disease and debilitating high blood pressure, can be obtained more pleasantly by eating the right foods. These are red wine, dark chocolate, fruits and vegetables, fish, garlic and nuts. These, combined with such irresistibles as sirloin steak, olive oil, honey, turkey, whole-wheat pasta, and many others, offer about as pleasant a way of staying healthy as can be imagined. If one of the core foods doesn't appeal to you, you can omit it without much penalty. The statistically demonstrable extra six years of life gives The Bonus Years Diet a scientific foundation that is unique. The recipes are inspired.Even if you don't believe in diets, you should read The Bonus Years Diet to see the place in human culture of the humane interaction between science, cooking, health, and eating.--Bill Abler

"Fiber has become the Next Big Thing in nutrition." (p 13)According to medical researchers, high-fiber diets may prevent 30 to 40 percent of all cancers, reduce diabetes, prevent lung problems, reduce sleep apnea, normalize digestive and colon issues, avoid heartburn, avert joint pain as well as many other things that prevent us from having a better life.

According to the authors an average American only consumes 10 grams of fiber per day compared to the recommended 40 grams. They also claim that "the key to losing weight is to eat fewer calories than your body burns each day.Fiber fills you faster and contains fewer calories." As well, they give three stages of progression of adding fiber to the daily diet.

I was amazed to find out the raspberries have 8 grams of fiber in one cup as compared to a medium apple with only 4.4 grams. As well, I was surprised to find out 1/2 a medium avocado has 6.7 grams of fiber compared to 1/2 cup of carrots with only 2.3 grams. And, then there are navy beans; 1/2 cup gives 9.6 grams of fiber.

Then there are recipes - my favorite part. "Piled High Haystack," "Black Bean Turtle Soup" (with no turtle), "Sweet-N-Peachy Crisp" (using fructose), and many more I'm looking forward to trying out.Just by looking at the ingredients I note that most can be found in the kitchen pantry and definitely at a local grocery store. As well, the authors added a chapter on eating out, on the road, and at the office.

I truly believe that a high fiber diet is the mainstay of a healthy body. Creating a solid foundation of healthy sustenance according to "The Full Plate Diet(tm)" will certainly help us avoid illness and discomfort.Together, let's create a healthier America.

1-0 out of 5 stars Nicely done book about Fiber
Was really enthused after reading all the reviews. Bought the book, made chart to keep track of foods and fiber eaten daily. Ate 40 or more grams of fiber every day but one, that was 37 , was full with that amount. Kept up my daily bike ride and even increased time. Increased water to 6 8oz glasses a day. Wife out town for a week, which increased my ability to follow diet. Even joined the web site which increased my knowledge of how diet works and recipe's. After one full week, increased my weight by 5.5 pounds.I had set my goal of losing 5 pounds, missed that by 10.5 pounds. Wow! Lot of increases for no decrease, just another increase.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book!
A very colorful, easy-to-read book with lots of pictures about the benefits of eating fiber and what foods have the most. The college where I work gave a copy to all of its employees, and my mother was so impressed with it that we ordered two more copies (for her and my sister).

here is a new type of dietary plan which is very, very useful.
i only wish that the table of values of IF, fats, and carbohydrates would have also included calories. i do not recommend this book for use on a kindle. one needs to be able to use it asa reference book, not just as reading material, and that won't work on a kindle.

1-0 out of 5 stars Kindle owners! Do not download this book!
Regardless of the content. I must point out if you download this book on your Kindle, you will not be able to read the illustrations and none of all the "figures"( and there are a lot of them).
