Students will read a variety of selected texts as a basis for their writing their own well-defined, organized an developed paragraphs and essays. Students will write two drafts for each type of paragraph and essay, and will read each others papers as an aide to revision. Different elements of grammar will be incorporated into each lesson, and, with the help of the editing text, students will practice finding and correcting the errors in their papers before turning them in. IMPORTANT CLASSROOM POLICY : Students are expected to do the homework assigned on any given day and turn in writing assignments according to the class schedule. Late homework will not be accepted; however, if a student must miss class and therefore cannot turn in homework, it may be submitted by e-mail (only if the student cannot attend class). Attendance is crucial; many of the assignments will be done in class. Poor attendance will affect a students grade.
