Extractions: A study of the relationship between teenagers and their parents has suggested a picture of happy families across the UK. The survey of 2,500 adolescents goes some way to dispelling the myth that they are constantly at loggerheads with their parents. A report into teenagers' attitudes towards their parents, reveals that the vast majority feel 'loved and cared for'. Three-out-of-four young people say their parents are always there when they need them and almost 60 per cent say they 'get on well' with their parents. Just one-in-five say they argue with their parents. Sharp differences But the survey also shows sharp differences between both groups. Most teenagers believe it is important that both parents get on well if they are to raise happy children. But just a third of parents share that view. Two out of three adolescents say parents should be clear about the difference between right and wrong, compared to 40% of adults.

Detective Inspector Law said: "I am appealing for Sarah to get in touch with me or her family to let us know she is safe and well. "She is not in any trouble with the police or her family. We just want to know that she is OK. "It is now more than two years since Sarah went missing and with her being just 16 years old, we are obviously extremely concerned for her welfare. Her family are really missing her

You've come a long way, Baby! Family and consumer sciences classes have changed over the years to meet the needs of students. As early as 1920, high school girls formed home economics clubs to discuss cooking, making clothes and maintaining a happy household. These clubs grew into a public school curriculum known as home economics. But you won't find home economics classes in the public schools anymore; you have to look for the Family and Consumer Sciences department . And you won't find just stirring and stitching going on either. The new FACS curriculum revolves around families and lifestyles and balancing family and career life. It's not just a "girl thing." Boys also take FACS classes. The student organization also has a new name. Many of the students' parents were members of the same organization, but it was then known as Future Homemakers of America. Today it's called Family, Career
