Where's the pictures?
I am inclined to think favorably of any book that comes out from Chronicle Books. They publish very good quality books. Their craft books are often first rate.

I bought this book through the mail, but was very dismayed to find that it has very few pictures of the crafts and activities. Consequently, it is not very enticing. I put it in a box and didn't think about it for months until I just unpacked it today.

Some of the activities seem awfully bland and unoriginal. Make and play with a paddle and ball? Make wet footprints on the sidewalk? Ideas like this for almost 20 bucks? This is not up to Chronicle's usual standards. There are some very fine books out there that suggest great activities for kids, but this isn't one of them. ... Read more

The perfect guide for families vacationing in Colorado
I checked out several books from the library, and found myself constantly referring back to this book.I am planning a family vacation for 12 adults and 15 children, and this book has been the one book that I would say was indispensible!Of all the books that I've used, the feature that this book has that none of the others have is that for everything possible, the prices for adults, seniors, children, and infants is included, along with what each attraction or park defines those categories (ages) to be.So, except for price increases that Ms. Kennedy couldn't know about, you have a close approximation to how much money you will be spending to do what you want to do.Also, the hours and phone numbers are included in nearly every case.I couldn't recommend this book highly enough! Fun & Games is lame, lame, lame!
I am planning a family reunion and need some fun, creative ideas, so scanned the good ol' Amazon database for something helpful.I discovered this book, and ordered it.What I found between its covers were a bunch of ridiculously lame games, and largely unrealistic suggestions and sillyideas for what would amount, in my mind, to the family reunion from hell,should anyone actually put these goofy ideas into practice.(I certainlywill not!) Some may find these games and suggestions fun and creative, butI just hope that I don't have ocassion to attend a family reunion that'sbeen planned by them. I did not find one single idea that I'm willing touse in this book. On the other hand, I've since found magazine articleswith some very good ideas for family gatherings, which I definitely willuse. This book stinks!

Great Guides for Families with young children
This is a great guide for this region for families with young children.Surprisingly after 6 years, it is already a little outdated, but only a little.It is still worth the purchase.

I don't want to get stuck shopping on vacations with my kids, but rather have fun ideas for day trips.This guide gave me plenty of ideas!I love it!

Family Fun books are always keepers in our home--surprisingly (since published by Disney) really have a lot of ideas about how to make money stretch and include both inexpensive and moderately priced ideas.

What fun and so charming.
