Passed my LEO exam due in part to this guide
I believe they have since changed the State Exam process/test since I took it back in 2001, but this guide certainly helped me.It asked far more and far harder questions than I needed to prepare for, thus making the exam so easy that I thought I failed it.I simply couldn't understand how I was able to complete the exam in the short amount of time that I used and couldn't believe the questions simply were not difficult.Not even a little bit.

Extremely Outdated, Buyers Beware!
This book covers all areas that one would expect to be on the state exam....five years ago. Now, in 2005, I recently took the state exam and questions in this book are nothing like what is on the real deal. Reason being, is the book is traditional based, whereas you will be taking a CMS based test. The two are completely different and this book should NOT be relied on to accuratly portray the CMS based testing. Don't waste your money, find an alternate and more accurate study material.

Study Guide for the Florida Law Enforcement Officer's Certif
I found a lot of useful question information, but this book is now outdated. Copy I received was in good condition but was from 1996.

Tests useless without unavailable answer key
I purchased this book aspractice for the exam. I was surprised when I got the book - no answers.I tried the link that was on the back of the book.Guess what?Not available.The only value I got from the book was the reading material but without the chapter end question & answers to reinforce the reading materialthe book didn't cut it.I wouldn't have bought the book if I knew there were no answers to the chapter end test questions.

GOOD and BAD
This is a textbook for study in preparation for testing.There are sample test questions at the end of each chapter and a sample general test at the back of the book.That's good; however, there were no answers to the questions. . . . that's bad.Where were they?Were there ever any answers so one could check to see if they understood the answers to be correct ?OR, is it a guessing game with a price tag ?

The material is presented in a language too technical
I just took the state exam (and passed!!), I have to say this book is writtenin too much of a technical manner and too many details for it to be an easy read. I felt I had to constantly translate paragrapgs into "plain english" to keep me going ...the material is presented in too much of a "dry" manner. Lots of times it was confusing to understand what was said, it was very contradictory. If you are taking the state exam, I highly recommend that you form a study group to "disect" what all the languge is...
