Extractions: Many international law scholars have assumed that the rise of international human rights litigation in US courts is an unequivocally positive development. In this essay, I will suggest that, notwithstanding its understandable appeal, this litigation entails significant domestic costs, and possibly international costs as well. These costs, like the benefits of international human rights litigation, are difficult to measure and probably vary from case to case. If nothing else, however, the existence of these costs may suggest that courts should await specific guidance from Congress before allowing further expansions of this litigation.

This is one of the most complete collection of mass death statistics on the internet. Dedicated to the hope that people will one day stop using the name of economic justice to kill their fellow man and woman, and finally realize that Karl Marx, not free market capitalism, is the most evil system of thought, and biggest source of death and poverty in human history. Feel free to send comments or new information And the award for the most mass killings credited to one man goes to ... (ta dah...) Karl Marx! Congratulations! It exceeds all war deaths in the 20th century, and even the wildest inflation of deaths due to slavery. More than Hitler. More than the Japanese Empire. Way more than Uncle Sam. Remember the motto.. No Justice No Peace. Just kill your fellow man until human equality has been achieved. Let this be a warning to those who want to raise hell for justice. Extractions: Cultural Diversity Requirements One GE goal is to provide you the opportunity to integrate and apply skills and knowledge gained through your college experience to issues and areas of life you will face as a citizen of a complex world. You should be able to relate your major to seemingly unrelated knowledge. To help achieve these goals, 9 of the required 48 GE units must be selected from upper-division courses within one of the themes described below. These courses may not be taken earlier than your last semester as a sophomore. Each of the themes represents a topic of far-reaching concern. In addition to allowing you to immerse yourself in depth in the topic, you have the opportunity to draw from your previous General Education experiences and skills in exploring the dimensions of the theme. The content of the three courses you take will be drawn somewhat equally from the natural sciences, the humanities and fine arts, and the social sciences. But in contrast to the Breadth Areas of General Education, theme courses tend to be more integrative among those three areas. If you first enrolled in college prior to fall 1993, you may be eligible to follow an earlier version of the 9-unit upper-division requirement. Note the following guidelines:

Extractions: Most of the work for the first year is required. There are several reasons for this. One reason is that there are some basic principles which any serious and thoughtful student would choose to study early in his or her career. The study of this fairly traditional material has become one of the experiences shared by almost all lawyers. Also, knowledge of all the materials to which the student is exposed makes it somewhat easier for first-year instructors to plan a program which minimizes overlapping presentations. By restricting elections in the first year, the School is able to keep the first-year students together in groups of about 90. The logistics of scheduling 90-person groups is much more manageable under restricted elections than it would be in an environment in which elections varied widely.
