these are thorough workbooks
These notebooks contain the kind of language arts work that I wanted my kids exposed to in grade school.I knew this would be the kind of work they'd receive in their high school.KIDS ARE NOT BEING PREPARED FOR THIS LEVEL OF ENGLISH IN GRADE SCHOOLS ANYMORE AND ARE GETTING A TRIAL BY FIRE FOR IT WHEN THEY ENTER HIGH SCHOOL. I really felt this book covered alot but sometimes I found better explainations for the work they were wanting done on a topic in other language books. Start to Finish Teaching Aid
McDougal Littell produces some of the best English curricula in existence for middle and high school. Their Grammar, Usage, and Mechanics books are wonderful. They contain reteaching, more practice, and application worksheets that facilitate learning/teaching. With a bit of teaching creativity, lesson planning challenges become a thing of the past when these books are used in conjunction with the textbook! I use them for my sixth grade through high school English classes.

Pretty straightforward
This book is the required text for my business writing class.It's pretty straightforward with lots of examples.Each page is perforated for some reason.Some chapters can get very long however, maybe a little too wordy. A lot of the concepts seem like common sense to me.

Great textbook
Its a good text book. Not too complicated to read, class is kind of a pain. If this is a program requirement, struggle your way through it. If its not a requirement, don't take this class, its annoying and frustrating. ... Read more
