Extractions: email: tech-mgmt@uiuc.edu Industry leaders and recent graduates have strongly expressed the need for such an approach. In an era when increasing domestic and international competition have caused industry to fundamentally re-define its management structure and its approach to resource management, particularly human resources, the need to hire graduates who can "hit the ground running" is of paramount importance. Training recent college graduates to work in cross-functional teams is a luxury that most companies can no longer afford. Students enter the program at the junior level and pursue the prescribed course of study while satisfying requirements for a bachelor's degree in their engineering or business major. Admission to the program is competitive and requires application by prospective students during the spring semester of their sophomore year. A faculty admissions board, comprised of program faculty members, reviews all applications and offers admission to the program based on the student's academic record, extracurricular involvement, and career goals. For the program to accommodate highly qualified students and to maintain a low student/staff ratio, enrollments are limited to forty students per class. The goal is to admit equal numbers of students from the College of Commerce and Business Administration and the College of Engineering.

Extractions: Overview Illinois' 3,000 inland lakes and 84,000 ponds will greatly benefit from the passage of Conservation 2000, as one of its major components is the funding of a six-year, $7.0 million program for implementation of the recommendations contained in a report called the Illinois Lake Management Program Act (ILMPA) - Administrative Framework Plan (Plan). Administered by the Illinois EPA, the Illinois Clean Lakes Program expands current efforts in the four major areas of comprehensive lake management, including: Technical Assistance, Educational Assistance, Monitoring and Research, and Financial Incentives. The General Assembly enacted the ILMPA in November 1989. As mandated by the Act, the Illinois EPA was responsible for developing a plan that would act as a blueprint for the implementation of future comprehensive lake management strategies. The plan was forwarded to the Governor in June 1992. The contents of the Plan were incorporated by the Governor's Water Resources and Land Use Priorities Task Force into the proposed overall Conservation 2000 initiative. To conduct future, ongoing, and new programs like those mentioned above, Illinois EPA is projected to receive the following appropriations:
