A Wealth of Resources for Science-Inclined Chicagoans
This work is great for science teachers, homeschoolers, and others. It includes a listing of distributors of science-related books, computers, toys, periodicals, etc. (Not all of them are located in the Chicagoland area).

A comprehensive list of museums is provided--not only the big ones such as the Field Museum.Events are listed--for example the IIT (Illinois Institute of Technology) Bridge-Building Contest. Science clubs of various kinds are described. Science-related events are included, such as those at the Argonne National Laboratory west of Chicago.

Resources for science projects are available. Suppliers and distributors of science-related equipment are featured. This includes the AMERICAN SCIENCE AND SURPLUS store, located at the far northwest side of Chicago, which I frequent. (Since this book was written, the store has expanded.)

This book ends with a comprehensive, useful index.
