Useful
I liked this book. It's a good mix of general feng shui tips and
advice from a real estate professional. It was useful when I sold
my house. However some of the feng shui tips are
from the black hat school which in my experience are too general
to be really effective. So if you just want some good advice to sell
your house, this will help. If you really need to feng shui your house
learn classical feng shui.

a ripoff!
A waste of money.It barely addresses Feng Shui and just wants to sell Realtor services.I thought I was buying a book teaching me how to Feng Shui my house and it was more how to sell your house thru a realtor.major disappointment.

The Bottom Line...
Okay, here's the bottom line: I bought the book. My house had been on the market for four months.I had tried everything (lowered the price twice), fired one agent, hired another, offered incentives, I was about ready to pray to some Catholic saint in charge of selling homes and my real estate agent said, "buy this book."So I did. I did the stuff the quack author recommended (cost me about $$$ and two days of my time) and four days later, the first person to see the house after I made the changes, wrote an offer for full price.I'm not into miracles. Guess that does not matter. The house is now sold.That's the bottom line. Do I recommend this book? Only if you want to sell your house.

McFengshui strikes again.
Another two-day wonder of the feng shui world writes a book that rehashes the advice realtors normally give to clients (before "feng shui" became a meme). The fact that the author reviewed her own book is particularly remarkable. That Lin Yun wrote something is not remarkable, because his dictum is that all of his students should write books about what his church sells as feng shui.

Most realtors are simply waiting for this fad to pass.

Sell Your Home FASTER with FENG SHUI
As a Feng Shui Consultant, I met Holly Ziegler at a FS conference. I literally purchased one of the first books off the presses. We were planning to put our house on the market. I read the book, followed Ms Ziegler's suggestions, our house sold in HOURS! I now incorporate these practices when working with clients who are selling homes (and businesses) and have had great success. Ms Ziegler is right on the mark.

A useful book to get you started
There is a large useful section covering the whole of Spain and where to buy, though as usual the Murcia region gets only a little coverage. I like the case studies at the end of chapters, always useful to hear what other people are doing. Layout is good with the insider tips, and breakout boxes, making it easier to skim and find stuff afterwards. Whilst the book seems to be sponsored by an "interested" party I don't think it distracts from the value of the content. A useful book to get you started. ... Read more

The best book of its kind
This is without doubt the best book written on the subject of house purchases in Italy. It shows deep knowledge of the history and culture of the country and the variety of its regional cultures. In all respects save one this is an improvement, if such were possible on the two previous ones. These are maybe bad times, with a weak dollar, for Americans to be buying in the Euro zone, but if you want to buy in Italy get this book.

More than just buying a house
I was sent this book for Christmas since I had stayed in Tuscany and am interested in buying there.Wow!This book is like a Whole Earth Catalog for Italy.Beyond the details on how to buy a house, it's got material on living there in a way that puts you right in the middle.I loved how the author interspersed Italian words and phrases throughout the book and had various glossaries for buying a house and even gardening and dealing with builders doing renovations.I find that I can recall the words easily because of the way he put them in the context of how I would actually use them in conversation to get something I want.The wit and wisdom sidebar on Berlusconi is a real gem.His listing of things like Italian TV and radio, I mean, I can see myself living there, important in the actual determination to buy.Also, he's got Web Site addresses throughout for additional information like real estate agents by region.This is a terrific book that's fun to read and dip into.I recommend it, highly.

This book was well worth the money There are some serious mistakes when dealing with history. other then that a very usefull book.

IF ONLY
We bought a house in Cortona Italy 12 years ago only after a long hard search. IF ONLY we had Gordon Neale's book with us on that first trip hunting for the perfect house.His detailed knowledge of the intracacies of house buying law in Italy is infinite and we would have had fewer grey hairs if this book was available then
.Apart from that it is a wonderful guide from a very sympathetic student of the history, language and humanity of the Italian nation. In concise chapters he will give you the benefit of his long study and experience of the regions, their differences and special charms.The stuff this man has learned would take the casual visitor more than a life time to obtain.Here is his knowledge for you to savour at the cost of a paperback.This is not just a book for aspiring house buyers, it is an invaluable asset to anyone travelling in Italy. As the author of this book I would like to point out that I am not the same person as my namesake who writes homoerotic novels such as "To Serve Two Masters". "Buying a House in Italy" belongs to a different genre altogether.
