Extractions: To these children, seeing and relating to disabled people is an everyday norm - in fact, half of them have special needs. But when the small man with cerebral palsy standing before them turned on a video that showed him skydiving - well, that silenced the room. "Look at what I can do, and I'm handicapped. Now imagine what you can do, and how much better many of you would be at it," Paul Wichansky told about 70 students at The Park School in Prospect Park. "People will tell you all the time that you can't do something, so you have to prove them wrong." The preschoolers and kindergartners were awed at the sight of Wichansky, 31, waving to the camera at 10,000 feet. The part-time meteorologist and doctoral student paints when he's not indulging his passion for parachuting, and his oil rendition of a cherry-red sports car drew "wows" from the youngsters. "That movie was so cool. I want to jump out of an airplane when I grow up," Tyrus Lopez, 7, said of the video. Wichansky, from Freehold, also has a hearing impairment. He was told he would never walk, and he didn't until he was 7 years old. He says his mission is to take the "dis" out of "disability."
