Extractions: Roughly equidistant from New Zealand and New Caledonia, the Norfolk Island group rises from the Pacific Ocean, three small, highly isolated islands. Early settlers found islands covered with mixed-species subtropical rainforest, and inhabited by an abundant and highly endemic avifauna, including the Norfolk Island green parrot ( Cyanoramphus novaezelandiae cookii ). However, centuries of human habitation led to devastating land clearance and the catastrophic introduction of alien species. The islandsÂ’ native biota is now mainly restricted to protected areas.

Extractions: Factors for the mild climate The Azores, at a high subtropical latitude, have a extremely mild climate due to a warm maritime current and the absolutely oceanic position, more than 1400 km away from the continents. In other words, they share the normal residence of the subtropical high pressure known as Azores high. First of all I recommend that you give a look at the Santa Maria climate page , which is the Azores station with temperature and sunshine values more similar to Vila Franca to see the variation, for concrete periods, of: So if you did check the page, you see that the "4 seasons in a day weather" cliche has nothing to do with reality, at least at sea level. The opposite is the truth, at least in terms of temperature. To better value until which extent the temperatures in the Azores are constant and pleasant, see the comparison with the mildest climates of the world.
