Each course is three credits. (This is on the "quarter" system. Each course is equivalent to two semester hours of credit.) For brevity, the two courses are often called Digital Age Education 1 (DAE1) and Digital Age Education 2 (DAE2). Commercial Waste Reduction Clearinghouse Oregon Regulations Regarding Commercial Recycling and Waste Reduction Division 90: Recycling and Waste Reduction General Requirements (1) The city, county, or metropolitan service district responsible for solid waste management shall insure that a place for collecting source separated recyclable materials is located at each permitted disposal site or located at an alternative location in the jurisdiction that is more convenient to the population being served. (2) Each city with a population of 4,000 or more or, where applicable within the urban growth boundary established by a metropolitan service district, shall provide on-route collection service for source separated recyclable materials at least once a month for all collection service customers within the city limits and the county shall provide that service to the collection service customers within the urban growth boundary but outside of the city limits. (3) The city or county responsible for solid waste management shall carry out a public education and promotion program that meets the following minimum requirements: (a) An initial written or more effective notice or combination of both that is reasonably designed to reach each residential and commercial generator of recyclable materials, and that clearly explains why people should recycle, the recycling opportunities available to the recipient, the materials that can be recycled and the proper preparation of those materials for recycling.
