All religions have there own way of translating what they believe to be the way to God. I personally like to take the simple Book~The King James Version of the bible and go from there. One of my favorites to read is anything written by Max Lacado or The great minister Billy Graham. Amelia

She was born 25-Apr-19331. Notes for BILLY CALVREN JOHNSON: [Walkup America Book.FTW] Written 3-18-1997 7:34 P.M. San Antonio, TX I just got off the phone with my twin brother Donnie. Dads' lung doctor was just in, he said that Dads' heart is too weak to handle any treatments for his lung cancer. He says Dads' heart is only pumping about 15% of its volume and that dad is not getting stronger, he's getting weaker. Its just a matter of time until his heart gives out. The heart doctor is do to come in tomorrow. I talked to Dad tonight over the phone, and he said, Well son, it looks like it (life) is over, I love you." He could not talk very long because of his weakened condition. We decided I would wait to hear what the heart doctor had to say tomorrow before I made the trip up to Little Rock, AR to help Betty care for him. I looked in the refrigerator for some wine in the hope that it might dull the pain, but we didn't have any. I find it hard for my mind to accept the realities of this day. Life; is this all there is? If so, as the song goes, "then lets keep dancing, and dancing, lets have a ball." I so wish that Bety and Dad would have - could have had more years together. Unless the Lord intercedes, it looks like that is not to be. Dad missed Mom so after she died, I quests they will reunite again. Well....who said life is fair? " Death where is your sting?", it feels more like a numbness. Maybe it's the numbness that softens the sting? Lord we sure could use a healing Miracle here, you know what I mean? Written 8-4-1997 11:32 P.M. San Antonio, TX Dad died on April 21, 1997 at 10:40 P.M. at Memorial Hospital in North Little Rock, AR. Betty and I (Ron) were with him, Dads breathing became very shallow. I called Betty over, a preacher she knew had just stopped by. I was standing beside Dad patting his arm. Most of the time he just wanted to feel that someone was with him, he didn't want "to die alone". His breathing continued to get weaker and lighter, and then he just didn't take another breath. I took that big deep missing breath for him, like trying to help him catch his breath. I felt for a pulse on his neck, but there was no pulse, his body was quiet and still. His jaw relaxed open; and that bothered me, so I reached up to close it, and it fell open again. I didn't try to close it again as it was meant to be. I knew that a person's hearing is the last sense to die. Betty and I had talked about reading the 23rd Psalm to him when the time came. Betty reminded me about reading it to him. I had a small copy of the passage, and started to read it to him. It was hard to get the words passed what seemed like a stone, a hard lump in my throat. I knew it could be the last thing he would remember to carry into eternity. I didn't want him to detect the pain, the sorrow in my voice or the short heavy breaths I was taking. The fourth verse comforted my soul, as I read, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of DEATH, I WILL FEAR NO EVIL: for Thou art with me: Thy rod and Thy staff they COMFORT me." The last verse I tried to say with all the belief, all the faith, I could muster up, "and I will dwell in the house of the lord FOREVER!." Betty and I were holding each other. We had been through and shared a lot together those last several weeks of Dad's journey through the end of his life. Dad and Betty would have been married one year if Dad had lived until June of 1997. I think the Lord guided them to each other, not only to give both of them a companion, but to give Dad's remaining children a Mother's love, and his grandchildren a Grandmother's love again. It's funny how God restores things. He gave Betty to us, so we could help watch over and love her, so she would not be so alone without Dad. It is amazing; a thing meant to be bad, like death, God has made into a good thing. "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." Then Betty and I, on behalf of our families, delivered his spirit into the hands of God. Amen Ronald Eugene Johnson Notes for MARION ELIZABETH NIPPER: [Walkup America Book.FTW] Ronald Eugene Johnson "Some thoughts on my Mom" Mom was born into a family of nine children.. She was pretty and "well built" as people said in her generation. Her first child, was a son, David Ray Crook, on his gravestone is David Ray Johnson. He too became a Johnson as we all did in many ways. David Ray Crook was "stillborn". He is Buried near Mom ma Nippers' grave in Nashville, TN. Donnie and I were born next, Donnie being 23 minutes older that I. But the trade off of I being born second was that I was on top of Donnie in the womb and I ate better. Outweighing Donnie at birth by a few pounds, and adding to those pounds over the next 48 years. Sherry came shortly after us. Donnie, Sherry and I had "cowboy-cowgirl" outfits alike, and when we would wear those outfits people would stop mom and ask if we were triplets? After mom and my father (Billy C. Johnson) had been married for a while along came Randy. Mom had a quick and alert mind. She was as they say "quick on her feet". She loved people, and could talk and get to know anyone. She worked as a sales clerk at "Harveys" in Nashville, TN. Other men and women seemed to respect her, and it was best for you to be her friend and not an enemy. When she would get mad, she would curl her tongue downward in her mouth and watch out when that happened! She was a very strong willed, (some would say hard headed), person, a Nipper trait! Raising and supporting three children by herself until dad came along all those years was really a job. She was noted for standing up for people who had problems standing or speaking up for themselves, those with disabilities, or the working poor. She was a religious person, attended Baptist Churches all her life and taught many a vacation Bible School. I think she drew on that faith during the hard times in her life and those last months of battle with cancer. She loved color. She would buy something, take it home paint on it and put it up on the walls. Each season saw different decorations and colors. If there was a blank space on the wall, there was still room to put something in that space. If Dad would chance a nap he might wake up decorated! She was good at matching colors, a trait that did me well while I was in the clothing business. Mom was a very creative person. She had a kiln; did ceramics and made flower arrangements as well as doing other crafts. One time when I was feeling down she told me, "Ronnie, you and Donnie were the best thing that ever happen to me!". It made me feel better, it made me feel good about myself. Mom's brothers and sisters were born over some twenty years with mom being the 5th of nine children. So it was shocking that she would be the first of her brothers and sisters to die. A person realizes Thier own mortality is limited when your parents start to die. I am sure whatever her vision of heaven was that that is where she will be forever. My Dad, Billy C. Johnson, was there with her everyday over the months of cancer treatments. He lost down two pants sizes, and didn't want to leave her side. Right after mom died, he would visit moms grave several times daily. Friends of mom and dad would say, "Whenever we saw one of them, we saw both of them, they were always together". She had this laugh, a kind of a cackle, that would come out then she got tickled. Sometimes she would have trouble finishing telling something as she would get herself tickled along the way. If I didn't know her ancestors were from Scotland and Ireland, I would have though she was Italiano the way she talked with her hands. She didn't like cats to rub up against her and she didn't like to be cold. She loved jewelry, and make-up, if God had given her twelve fingers she would have rings on each one. It was her strong willed that she drew on for strength to keep going through her "hard" life, a trait I draw from and a trait I hope is passed on for many generations to come. An Arkansas native, Judge Cypert attended the Searcy Academy and was admitted to the bar in 1884. He formed a legal partnership with his father, Jesse Newton Cypert (1823-1913) which lasted until Jesse's death. Apart from his activities in the legal profession and real estate speculation, Judge Cypert was elected White County Judge for four terms, attended the Arkansas Constitutional Convention of 1917, and was an avid local historian. In 1897, Judge Cypert married Louise Iradel Seat(1877-1959) at Webster Grove, Missouri. The couple had five children, Sarah, Benton, Eugene Jr., Harriet, and Florence, the donor of this collection. Louise Seat Cypert came from a pioneer southern family as well. Her father was Captain Benton Bell Seat (1830-1917) of Trenton, Tennessee. Seat left Tennessee for California during the gold rush of 1849 after studying law at Lebanon. He settled in Texas after his return and served in Sibley's Texas Brigade and the Fifth Texas Cavalry during the Civil War, participating in the ill-fated New Mexico Campaign. He was wounded in the battle of Valverde, New Mexico and finished the war fighting with troops in Louisiana. Seat resumed his legal career in Texas following the war and then moved to Nicaragua where he practiced law and speculated in the banana business. Aside from Louise, Seat had another child, William Haymond Seat, who remained in Nicaragua after the Captain left for Arkansas in 1901. Captain Seat lived the rest of his life in Searcy with his daughter and son-in-law.

Extractions: Religion - Others The Jehovah's Witnesses reject the basic teachings of Christianity and are therefore a non-Christian and even anti-Christian cult. They deny the doctrine of the Trinity. They teach that Jesus is a created being. They believe he was a perfect man while he was on earth, but only a man. They deny that he rose physically (bodily) from the grave. They believe that Christ's death restored only the right to live. His death provides the opportunity for people to earn their own salvation. According to their teachings, those who become Jehovah's Witnesses and earn their own salvation will be rewarded. However, they believe that only 144,000 will go to heaven to rule with Jehovah. The rest of the faithful Jehovah's Witnesses will live in paradise on earth. The Jehovah's Witnesses deny the eternal nature of the punishment of unbelievers in hell. They teach that a final annihilation of the wicked. The Jehovah's Witnesses have a strong emphasis on the end times with the belief that Christ will return to rule on earth for 1,000 years, establishing Jehovah's kingdom. The leaders of the Jehovah's Witnesses have set dates for Christ's return or the battle of Armageddon more than once only to be sorely disappointed.

Extractions: Message #10922 - Wicca (Magicknet) Date : 24-Oct-90 21:59 From : Greg Edwards To : Don Orchard Subject : Halloween And Holy War! - @MSGID: 1:202/502.19 27265567 @ CHRISTIANS TO TAKE ON WITCHES, PAGANS IN HALLOWEEN "HOLY WAR" Atlanta Journal/Constitution - Wednesday, October 24, 1990 SAN FRANCISCO - The term "holy War" will take on a whole new meaning here as Penecostal Christians and Goddess Worshiping Pagans square off on Halloween to prove who's holier than thou. Texas televangelist Larry Lea is mustering 10,000 Christian soldiers Halloween night in San Francisco's Civic Auditorium to do battle with the forces of Satan. And members of the normally low-key Pagan community in the Bay Area Practitioners of Wicca, nature religions and New Age Spiritualism have launched a counteroffensive, claiming Mr. Lea's spiritual warfare interferes with their constitutional right to practice their religion. Mr. Lea, a protege of Oral Roberts and former pastor of Church of the Rock in Dallas, has made a name for himself among Pentecostal and charismatic Christians for a tendency to preach in Army fatigues and hand out "prayer army dog tags" to his followers. He is a proponent of "spiritual warfare" using prayer to exorcise demons. Last month, with the backing of 500 pastors of Bay Area churches, Mr. Lea announced a three-day San Francisco crusade to "reverse the curse" of Halloween and march through the city to convert those they consider possessed by Satan; drug addicts, homosexuals, the sexually promiscuous, belivers in New Age religion and Wiccans, those spell-casting, goddess-worshiping folks commonly called witches. "These are not just kids having fun". Mr. Lea said at the time. "There is actual worship of the devil." Janet Christian, spokeswoman for the Bay Area Pagan Asemblies, and organization of Wiccans and nature-worshipers, is outraged. "We're goddess worshipers; Witches don't have anything to do with Satan. Who do these people think they are?" asked Ms. Christian, whose group sponsored a Witches' Ball at the Palo Alto Hyatt on Friday night, and open-to-all consume party designed to build bridges of understanding between the practitioners of Wicca and the community at large. "What if we brought some big-name witch to town on Christmas Day to do a ritual outside their churches? We'd never do anything like that to them," Ms. Christian says. "Why are they doing this to us?" Ms. Christian's group has taken defensive action in the pending holy war, hiring security police to keep out any Bible-Weilding Christian soldiers. But other Pagan groups are on the offensive, planning conter-demonstrations outside the Civic Auditorium and threatening guerrilla actions to disrupt Mr. Lea's crusade. "Larry Lea's going to find out that there are more of us than he can handle," says Eric Pryor, high Priest of the New Earth Temple, a San Francisco group of Wiccans and other Pagans. ** Thought that many here would find this interesting... Extractions: : : Sandy : Reincarnation is, ultimately, opposed to christianity. the Bible says that we have to die once after which the judgment will come. Reincarnatiotheories are therefore quite dangerous. You might say: well, this is my 32nd life, let's try Buddhism for a change. But when you meet Jesus, you might find out that you have made the wrong choice and it is your one and only life. It is not at all important to know as much as possible about religions or theories. As Lewis once put it, we are not concerned with what we think of Christ, but what Christ thinks of us. That is crucial. : I do recognise the uncertainty you talk about. Nevertheless, the Bible does say that once you have professed your belief in Christ's salvation, you ARE a new creation from that moment. I have difficulty understanding this text, still, it is the fundament of my belief. : David
