    Extractions: The Chemistry laboratory is a general purpose sample preparation laboratory serving the whole of the Physics Department. The laboratory is equipped with three fume cupboards, dry box, vacuum ovens and lines, and the usual paraphernalia associated with normal chemical preparations. Capable of all sample preparations from simple cleaning to complex polymeric synthesis. Frequently polymer preparations involve the use of hazardous solvents and have to be done in a fume cupboard. The dry box is presently being used for the preparation of polymer electrolytes and lithium rechargeable batteries.
