The Department's new "For Parents" web page is designed to make it easy for parents to get the information they need. Parents can sign up for "ParentInfo" alerts and receive news releases, information about new publications, and periodic updates on education issues in Kentucky delivered via e-mail. The site offers tips on parenting, parent involvement, and links to information and homework resources. Parents can also access an "About Your School" link where they can find information about their school's annual report card, standardized test scores, demographic information and human resources. The Department plans to fine-tune the language of the site to eliminate educational jargon that parents might not understand.
