One theory is that it is from narrow beans which grew in the area and caused Dr White to become ill while travelling with Governor Phillip's party towards the coast on August 22 1788. The name Narrobine Creek appears in records relating to two escaped convicts in the district in 1801, so it was in use at that time. Surveyor James Meehan placed the name Narabang Narabang Lagoons on his map in 1814. The next game, against Perkiomen Valley, on Monday, October 16, will mark the first time that a game will be played at the North Penn High School. Time to move on It's been wonderful... I will never stop remembering the great times I spent as a parent, friend, and volunteer with the North Penn High School's swimming program. I enjoyed the cheering, videotaping, the five years of yearbook editing and the three years of web site development and management. It was a lot of fun. And if not always without frustration, well, that's just life. I will certainly keep only the greatest memories, and there are plenty. I feel deeply privileged to have been able to work with one of the best high school coaches this country has ever seen. Bill Bartle 's record of a water polo and four straight swimming state championships, taking the NP boys and keeping them in the top five public high school programs in the U.S.A. for four consecutive years, and in the end leading them to the number one national ranking, made my job very easy. There was certainly no need for motivation. I woke up and went to bed daily with thoughts of how I could match the program's success with quality representation, accurate reporting, and documentation.

New PC forms for Scouts/Ventures Scouts PC(S/VS) have been replaced. The new form is called PC(AD). It is a generic form usable for Scouts, Venture Scouts, Explorer Scouts and Scout Network members. Don't forget to let Ray have PC forms at least 2 months before the camp, enclose a s.a.e. and a cheque for £3, together with an outline programme. For Cub camps a wet weather programme and menu should be attached. If you are camping in Berkshire there is no charge. Troops and Units from the District will be attending WINGS 2003 - Windsor International Guide and Scout Camp - in Windsor Great Park from 2-9 August. Older Cubs together with their leaders have been invited on Wednesday 6 August from 6pm to 9pm so they can experience an International camp. Denis will be taking the Scout Shop along and no doubt will be approaching people to help behind the counter. A lot of outdoor activities to look forward to. CBR forms - they are being returned in about eight weeks although three forms, to my knowledge, have got lost between HQ and the CRB people! HQ have asked that all leaders complete a CRB form and County have advised us that those over 18 years of age going onto the WINGS site will have to have completed a CRB form. Please don't leave this form filling until the last minute, do it now so we don't have to disappoint people. Your GSL can let you have a form and if you are not part of a Group ask me (Jane) for one. I am also willing to assist if you need any help with completing the form. Some reasons for delays - if a driving licence is given as an identity check and the address on the licence is not the current address. CRB have contacted the applicant with a query and they get no response from the applicant. Each address given has to be checked by the local police force!
