The event drew an attendance figure in excess of 2,000. : Health and Strength magazine organised the first MR Universe contest to commemorate the Olympic Games being held that year in London. Won by John Grimek, twice MR America winner who had previously represented the USA as a weight lifter at the 1936 Olympic Games. : NABBA was formed. MR Universe was won that year by MR America Steve Reeves, who later went on to make more than thirty Hercules movies. The following year, when Reg Park won, one of the competitors was a young man from Canada, Joe Weider. In the years that followed the top bodybuilders worldwide came to England to try and win the Universe title. Famous names like John Grimek, Steve Reeves, Bill Pearl, all Americans, were part of a group which also included Reg Park, England and Arnold Schwarzenegger, Austria, a 4 times Universe winner. These 5 were the most influential winners who later became the legends of the Universe. : The late OSCAR HEIDENSTAM was appointed full time secretary and became the main driving force in NABBA for more than thirty years.

Extractions: Ukraine from an ancient history to our days Brief History The first identifiable groups to populate what is now Ukraine were Cimmerians, Scythians, Sarmatians, and Goths, among other nomadic peoples who arrived throughout the first millennium B.C. These people were well known to colonists and traders in the ancient world, including Greeks and Romans, who established trading outposts, which eventually became city states. Slavic tribes occupied central and eastern Ukraine in the sixth century A.D. and played an important role in the establishment of Kyiv. Situated on lucrative trade routes, Kyiv quickly prospered as the center of a powerful state of Kyiv Rus. In the 11th century, Kyiv Rus was, geographically, the largest state in Europe. Kyiv Rus was a cradle of three modern Slavic peoples - Ukrainian, Russian and Byelorussian. A Christian missionary, Cyril, converted the Kyivan nobility and most of the population in 988. Conflict among the feudal lords led to decline in the 12th century. Kyiv was razed by Mongol raiders in the 12th century and the whole Kyiv Rus was invaded by Tatar-Mongols who inflicted extensive damage. The western Ukrainian principality of Galicia, founded in the 12th century, suffered less from the Mongol invasion than the rest of the area, and was annexed by Poland in the 14th century. At about the same time Kyiv and the Ukrainian of Volhynia were conquered by Lithuania and later came, with the latter country, into the possession of Poland.

Religion and culture, which cannot be separated from all human treasures, are the basis of Christianity and all other religions. During the years of the Fight for Freedom that the Ukrainian people had against the Polish-Shlyatsky oppressions, the Jewish and Polish population in the city was decreasing, many of these people ran away to different counties or were killed during the military actions. Right before consolidating the right side of the river of Ukraine with Russia there was only a few hundred Jews. At the end of the 17th century, in 1684, the small Jewish community received from Countess Lubomirskaya, who controlled the city, permission that allowed them "to build nice houses and buildings in the central part that was called 'Volia'". For a famous reward that went to the Christians, Jews freed themselves from military service except "General obligation in case of a war". They were granted the right to sell and also trade goods, with the condition that they pay the taxes, as were specified by the kingdom. This helped to increase the numbers of the Jewish population and developing with it, active participation of much needed businesses. Thanks to that, already at the beginning of the 18th century, the city became a large trade center on Volinsky land.
