This preparation is a very important part of relieving the suffering that an unprepared community will experience in a disaster.

Extractions: The Museum of Flight has one of the largest volunteer programs of any museum in the region. There are over 500 active volunteers on site throughout the year. Our Docent force of 190 volunteers is the backbone of the program. Docents staff the Museum seven days a week, eight hours per day. In addition to our Docents, the Museum has an active aircraft Restoration Center with over 250 regular volunteers. Volunteers also comprise our Board of Trustees and various working committees. Rounding out the program are volunteers utilized in exhibits, administration, special events, speaker's bureau, and youth programs. The Museum also has an active internship program with many colleges in the area. Here are a few of our volunteer opportunities: Air Force One hosts are needed for the first presidential jet. Its a great opportunity to meet people from all over the world and to support one of the Museums most popular artifacts. Volunteer hosts will provide information about the plane and monitor traffic flow through the aircraft, working either from 10:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. or from 2:00 to 5:15 p.m. on any day of the week.
